Mapping the Vascular and Muscular Topography of the Glabellar Region: Implication for Improving Safety and Efficacy of the Glabellar Injections

Injections into the glabellar region without precise anatomical knowledge of its vascular and muscular topography may pose the risk of severe complications.Objectives We aimed to improve the safety and efficacy of the glabellar injections by mapping the regional muscles and vasculature in relation to the medial canthus and the defined reference lines.Methods Meticulous dissection was performed to reveal glabellar region muscles and arteries under surgical microscope, in 16 hemifaces of whom arteries are injected with red-dyed latex. Location of the angular artery (AA) along with its branches was noted in relation to glabellar muscles.Results The AA was always located superficial to the levator labii superioris alaeque nasi muscle (LLSAN) and then coursed toward the medial canthus to anastomose with the supratrochlear artery deep to the origin of the depressor supercilii (DS). The AA gave subcutaneously located central and paracentral branches coursing close to the mid-face line in 14 out of 16 hemifaces. Variable muscular connections were also present between the LLSAN, the DS and the procerus (P) muscles. No arteries were detected at the base of the medial eyebrow to which the DS, the P, and the frontalis (F) inserted.Conclusions This study provides a detailed map of muscular and vascular anatomy of the glabellar region to facilitate safe and efficient filler and BoNT injections without complications.No Level Assigned This journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each submission to which Evidence-Based Medicine rankings are applicable. U-18 Erkek Futbolcularda 8 Haftalık Düzeltici Egzersiz Uygulamalarının Fms Test Skorlarına Etkisi
Bu çalışmanın amacı, FMS toplam puanı 14 ve altında olan 18 yaş altı erkek futbolcularda 8 hafta süreli uygulanan progresif düzeltici egzersizlerin FMS puanlarına olan etkisinin incelenmesidir. Çalışmaya Türkiye Bölgesel Lig U-18 grubunda futbol oynayan yaşları 15-17 arasındaki 38 erkek futbolcu katılmıştır. Futbolcuların FMS verileri ve demografik bilgileri için 'kişisel bilgi ve FMS test formu' hazırlanmıştır. Çalışmanın başında tüm sporculara FMS testi uygulanmış ve test puanları kaydedilmiştir. Yaralanma riski olarak belirlenen 14 ve altında toplam FMS puanına sahip olan 14 sporcu araştırma grubunu, 15 ve üzeri puana sahip 14 sporcu ise kontrol grubunu oluşturmuştur. Rutin futbol antrenmanlarına ilave olarak araştırma grubuna haftada 3 gün toplam 8 hafta düzeltici egzersiz programı takım antrenörü gözetiminde uygulanmıştır. 9. haftada tüm sporculara FMS son-testi yapılmıştır. Araştırma grubunda toplam FMS puanı ikinci testlemede artarken (p0,05). Araştırma grubunda tek çizgide hamle, omuz hareketliliği, aktif düz bacak kaldırma, gövde stabilite şınavı ve rotasyon stabilitesi puanlarında anlamlı bir artış kaydedilmiştir (p0.05). A significant increase was noted in the research group in in-line lunge, shoulder mobility, active straight leg raise, trunk stability push-up and rotary stability scores (p<0.05). Our results showed that it may be possible to increase FMS total scores with a corrective exercise program applied to U-18 male football players with a total FMS score of 14 and below, which is determined as a potential injury risk
The Effect of Formative Assessment on Students' Clinical Knowledge, Skills and Self-Efficacy Levels
Kokkiz, Rukiye/0000-0002-9164-7584Aim: This research aims to examine the effect of using formative assessment methods in clinical education on students' knowledge, skills and self-efficacy levels. Background: Formative assessment is used as a method designed to identify areas where students fall short and provide feedback for improvement. Formative assessment and feedback represent fundamental characteristics of quality teaching in higher education and play a decisive role in learning in nursing education. Although educators observe students performing practical tasks during clinical education, evaluation is not made by a structured control list. Therefore, just as nursing students are evaluated with "Skill Checklists" in the OSCE exam, there is a need to evaluate nursing skills during patient care in the clinical field. Design: The study was designed as a pre-test post-test randomized controlled experimental study. Method: Before the research, both groups filled out the self-efficacy form. The experimental group received formative assessment throughout the course. At the end of the semester, all students were given a skills test and asked to fill out the self-efficacy form again. Finally, a knowledge test was administered to the entire class. Results: The average knowledge score of the experimental group is higher than the control group. It was determined that there was a statistical difference of 16.54 points in the average skill scores between the groups. Posttests showed significant differences in skills such as breathing-cough exercise, basic glycemic measurement, subcutaneous injection and blood collection skills. Conclusion: It was determined that the formative assessment method increased nursing students' knowledge, skills and self-efficacy levels regarding basic nursing skills.The authors thank Msc Aydan YILMAZ for her assistance in the data collection process. Rapid Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles With<i> Rheum</I><i> Ribes</I> L Fruit Peels: Anticancer and Antimicrobial Effects With Biocompatible Structures

Utilizing extracts obtained from the peels of Rheum ribes L. (Rr) fruit growing in Erzurum region, silver nanoparticles were rapidly created in this study with a quick, easy, and environmentally friendly technique without harmful processes. In order to evaluate the attributes of the synthesized Rr-AgNPs, FE-SEM or TEM micrographs were utilized to characterize their morphology. A UV -visible spectrophotometer was used to assess the highest absorbance bands of RR-AgNPs. These data were used to define RR-AgNPs, which were characterized as having exclusively negative surface charges of -25 mV, spherical shape, maximum absorbance at 428 nm wavelength, and 96 nm size distribution. The effectiveness of the produced AgNPs for use in medical applications was assessed using the MTT technique with microdilution. Minimum inhibition concentrations of Rr-AgNPs for pathogen strains ranged from 0.03 to 0.50 mg/L. Additionally, it was discovered that AgNPs effectively suppressed malignant cells, with rates of 86.27%, 74.67%, and 73.49%, in the investigation of the anticancer effects of AgNPs. Healthy cells were not subject to any inhibitory effects at the same concentrations
Evaluation of Industrial Iot Service Providers With Topsis Based on Circular Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets
Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) service providers have become increasingly important in the manufacturing industry due to their ability to gather and process vast amounts of data from connected devices, enabling manufacturers to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. These platforms provide manufacturers with real-time visibility into their production processes and supply chains, allowing them to optimize operations and make informed decisions. In addition, IIoT service providers can help manufacturers create new revenue streams through the development of innovative products and services and enable them to leverage the benefits of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning. Overall, the implementation of IIoT platforms in the manufacturing industry is crucial for companies seeking to remain competitive and meet the ever-increasing demands of customers in the digital age. In this study, the evaluation criteria to be considered in the selection of IIoT service provider in small and medium-sized (SME) manufacturing enterprises will be determined and IIoT service providers alternatives will be evaluated using the technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution (TOPSIS) method based on circular intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Based on the assessments conducted in accordance with the literature review and expert consultations, a set of 8 selection criteria has been established. These criteria encompass industry expertise, customer support, flexibility and scalability, security, cost-effectiveness, reliability, data analytics, as well as compatibility and usability. Upon evaluating these criteria, it was observed that the security criterion holds the highest significance, succeeded by cost-effectiveness, data analytics, flexibility and scalability, reliability, and customer support criteria, in descending order of importance. Following the evaluation of seven distinct alternatives against these criteria, it was deduced that the A6 alternative, a German service provider, emerged as the most favorable option. The identical issue was addressed utilizing sensitivity analysis alongside various multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods, and after comprehensive evaluation, the outcomes were assessed. Elektrikli Kamyon Seçiminde Dairesel Sezgisel Bulanık Kümelere Dayalı Vıkor Yönteminin Uygulanması
Artan nüfus ve gelişen küresel tüketici davranışları, dünya çapında kapsamlı ticari etkileşimleri teşvik etti. Ancak bu genişleme çevre kirliliğinin artmasına neden oldu. Sonuç olarak ülkeler, özellikle ulaşım ve nakliye faaliyetlerinden kaynaklanan hava kirliliğini azaltmak için önlemler almaya başladı. Bu çabanın bir parçası olarak, fosil yakıt tüketen araçların yerini alan ve hızla yaygınlaşan elektrikli araçlar, uygulanabilir bir çözüm olarak ortaya çıktı. Bu çalışma, ulaşım amacıyla kullanılan elektrikli kamyonların seçim konusundaki ikilemlerini incelemektedir. Karar vericilerin seçim sürecinde dikkate alması gereken kriterleri tanımlar ve piyasada mevcut alternatifleri bu kriterlere göre değerlendirir. Karar verme sürecinin doğasında olan belirsizlik ve öznellikle mücadele etmek için dairesel sezgisel bulanık sayılar kullanıldı. Alternatiflerin değerlendirilmesinde bu sayılara dayalı VIKOR yöntemi tercih edilen yaklaşım olmuştur. Bu araştırma, sürdürülebilir ulaşım alanındaki kritik bir ihtiyacı ele alıyor ve karar vericilere elektrikli kamyonların önceden tanımlanmış kriterlere göre değerlendirilmesi için sistematik bir çerçeve sağlıyor. Dairesel sezgisel bulanık sayılardan ve VIKOR yönteminden yararlanan bu çalışma, elektrikli kamyon seçiminin doğasında bulunan karmaşıklıkların üstesinden gelmek için sağlam bir metodoloji sunuyor ve böylece hava kirliliğini azaltma ve çevresel açıdan sürdürülebilir ulaşım uygulamalarını teşvik etme çabalarını ilerletiyor
On Clinical Nurses' Views About Diversities- a Qualitative Study
It is a must for nurses to provide healthcare to people from diverse cultures, ethnicities, religions, and genders. This descriptive qualitative study aimed to explore nurses' approaches to various people. The study collected data via semi-structured interviews and contacted 40 nurses through snowball sampling. Most nurses were between the ages of 25-40 and female, 22 of them had postgraduate degrees, and 18 had undergraduate degrees in nursing. Only 10 of them had received special training related to diversity. MaxQda software program was used for content analyses, and four basic themes were determined respectively, "Nurses' perceptions of diversity," "Nurses' perceptions of diversity towards patients," "Nurses' perceptions of diversity towards healthcare professionals," and "Nurses' perceptions of diverse towards the institution." Participant nurses mainly revealed that although legal and organizational procedures aimed to prevent discriminative attitudes in clinical environments, discriminatory attitudes of nurses and healthcare professionals toward diverse people still occurred.Science Citation Index Expande
VR Headset Selection Via Codas Based on Pythagorean Fuzzy Set
Thanks to the developing technology, innovative activities emerge in the education sector, as in every sector. Contrary to traditional teaching and learning methods, novel models have started to be used in the education sector with the opportunities offered by virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) or mixed reality (MR) technologies used in many different sectors. In this study, a model developed for use in the education sector in Turkey, which is named MEB-VR, has been introduced and the solution of a problem encountered in this model has been discussed. MEB-VR has been developed especially for applied and laboratory courses. The problem of determining the best headsets to be used in the model, in which the VR-based education approach is adopted, has been tried to be solved in this study. For this purpose, the most suitable VR headset was determined using the combinative distance based assessment (CODAS) method based on circular pythagorean fuzzy sets (C-PFS). © 2025, IGI Global. Player Selection in Football by Integrated Swara-Vikor Methods Under Fuzzy Environment
Caloglu Buyukselcuk, Elif/0000-0002-5976-6727This study aims to provide an objective evaluation and selection of the most suitable players for the Turkish National Football Team by using multi-criteria decision-making methods, specifically Stepwise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA) and VIsekriterijumsko KOmpromisno Rangiranje (VIKOR) based on neutrosophic numbers. In the initial step of the study, the important criteria for player selection were determined, and a total of 21 and 26 criteria were identified for goalkeeper and players, respectively. Agility, reflexes and jumping ability are very important for goalkeeper whereas marking, passing ability, agility, dribbling, and footwork are the most important criteria for players. The performances of the players were evaluated due to these criteria and finally the Turkish National Football Team was established scientifically because of the best player selection. This decision-making process will be more beneficial in making more informed and effective decisions in the national team's player selection process. The success of the team can be improved by providing an objective and systematic player selection approach.Science Citation Index Expande
Investigation of Prosocial and Antisocial Behaviors, Values and Moral Decision-Making Attitudes in Sports
Spor, doğası gereği başkaları için olumlu sonuçlar doğurabilecek davranışlarda bulunmak için birçok fırsat sunmakla birlikte aldatma ve saldırganlık gibi başkaları için olumsuz sonuçlar doğurabilecek davranışlar için de ortam yaratmaktadır. Dolayısıyla sporda hem prososyal hem de antisosyal davranışlara tanık olunmaktadır. Bu bağlamda spor ortamlarında davranışlar, değerler ve ahlaki tutumların incelenmesi önem arz etmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı; sporda prososyal ve antisosyal davranışlar ile altyapı takımlarında değerler ve ahlaki karar alma tutumları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi ve ele alınan kavramların cinsiyet, spor türü ve yaş gruplarına göre farklılığın ortaya konmasıdır. Araştırmaya farklı spor branşlarında faaliyet gösteren 13-18 yaş aralığında 107 kız (Xyaş= 15,88±1,79 yıl), 193 erkek (Xyaş= 16,19±1,84 yıl) toplam 300 sporcu (Xyaş= 16,08±1,84 yıl) gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak kişisel bilgi formu, Sporda Prososyal ve Antisosyal Davranış Ölçeği, Altyapı Sporlarında Değerler Ölçeği-2, Alt Yapı Sporlarında Ahlaki Karar Alma Tutumları Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde betimleyici analizler, Pearson korelasyon analizi, hiyerarşik regresyon analizi ve bağımsız gruplar için t testi kullanılmıştır. Sporda prososyal ve antisosyal davranış, sporda değerler ve sporda ahlaki karar alma tutumlarının cinsiyet, spor türü ve yaşa göre farklılaştığı görülmüştür. Kız sporcuların yetkinlik değeri ve sporda adilce kazanmayı koruma puanları erkeklerden daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Bireysel sporlar ile uğraşan sporcuların rakibe antisosyal davranış, hileyi benimseme ve yarışma severliği benimseme puanlarının takım sporcularından daha yüksek olduğu; takım sporcularında da takıma prososyal davranış alt boyutunun bireysel sporculardan daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Yaşça büyük olan sporcuların takıma prososyal davranış puanlarının daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır. 13-15 yaş grubunda yer alan sporcuların ahlaki değer puanının daha yüksek olduğu gözlenmiştir. Sporda değerleri yordamada sporda prososyal ve antisosyal davranışların ve sporda ahlaki karar alma tutumlarının rolü olduğu bu araştırma sonucunda ortaya koyulmuştur. Therefore, both prosocial and antisocial behaviors are witnessed in sports. In this context, it is important to examine behaviors, values and attitudes in sports environments. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between prosocial and antisocial behaviors in sports and values and moral decision-making attitudes in youth teams and to reveal the differences in the concepts discussed according to gender, type of sport and age groups. A total of 300 athletes (107 female (Xage=15.88±1.79 years), 193 male (Xage=16.19±1.84 years) between the ages of 13-18, active in different sports branches) participated in the research. 1.84 years) participated voluntarily. Personal information form, Prosocial and Antisocial Behavior in Sports Scale, Values Scale in Youth Sports-2, Moral Decision-Making Attitudes in Youth Sports Scale were used as data collection tools in the research. Descriptive analyses, Pearson correlation analysis, hierarchical regression analysis and t test for independent groups were used to analyze the data. It has been observed that prosocial and antisocial behavior in sports, values in sports and moral decision-making attitudes in sports differ according to gender, type of sport and age. The competence value and fair winning protection scores of female athletes were found to be higher than those of male athletes. It has been observed that the antisocial behavior towards the opponent, acceptance of cheating and acceptance of competition love scores of athletes involved in individual sports are higher than team athletes; and the sub-dimension of prosocial behavior towards the team is higher in team athletes than in individual athletes. It has been determined that the scores of prosocial behavior towards the team are higher in older athletes. It has been observed that the moral value scores of athletes in the 13-15 age group are higher. It has been revealed as a result of this research that prosocial and antisocial behaviors in sports and moral decision-making attitudes in sports play a role in predicting values in sports.
