Adölesanlarda Oluşan Postürel Deformasyonların İzlenmesi ve Rom-spine Eğitim Uygulamalarının Adölesanlar Üzerindeki Etkisinin İncelenmesi
Bu çalışma adölesan ve genç bireylerde oluşan postüral deformasyonların belirlenerek Romspine eğitim uygulamalarının, yaşam kaliteleri üzerine katkısını incelemek ve sağlıklı yaş alma kültürü oluşturmak amacı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Dahil edilme kriterlerini sağlayan 14-17 yaş arasındaki 34 birey, bir müdahale ve bir kontrol grubu olarak ikiye ayrılmıştır. Bu çalışmaya katılan bireylerin esneklikleri, aerobik kapasiteleri, postür analizleri ve postüral farkındalık düzeyleri, eğitim öncesi ve sonrası olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Müdahale grubuna önce ilk ölçümler yapılmıştır. Sonra 8 hafta boyunca haftada 2 gün 20 dk. Romspine teorik eğitimi ve ardından 20 dk. Romspine uygulama eğitimi Uluslararası Klinik Pilates Federasyonu Master eğitmenleri tarafından yüz yüze olarak verilmiştir. Romspine teorik eğitimleri; Romspine uygulama eğitimleri öncelikle tüm eklemlerin çalışmasını sağlayan kasların güçlenmesi, tüm vücut eklemlerinin ideal hareket açıklıklarına yönelik çalışmalar, postür kaslarını güçlendirme çalışmaları, büyük ve küçük kas gruplarına yönelik kuvvetlendirme çalışmaları ile esneme, germe egzersizlerinden oluşan Romspine egzersiz programı uygulanmıştır. 8 hafta sonra son ölçümler yapılmıştır. Kontrol grubuna ise önce ilk ölçümler yapılmıştır. 8 hafta boyunca haftada üç gün kendi kendine egzersiz yapmaları istenmiştir. 8 hafta sonra son ölçümler yapılmıştır. Müdahale grubunda, egzersiz ve hareket uzmanı eşliğinde verilen Romspine postüral gelişim teorik ve uygulama eğitimi ve egzersiz programı sonucunda postür farkındalıklarında, postüral rahatsızlıklar bilgisi düzeylerinde, esneklik düzeylerinde, postürlerinde, aerobik kapasitesinde, nefes ve nabız sayılarında anlamlı değişimler görüldü (p<0, 05).This study was carried out with the aim of determining the postural deformations that occur in adolescents and young individuals, examining the contribution of Romspine education practices to their quality of life and creating a healthy aging culture. Thirty-four individuals aged 14-17 who met the inclusion criteria were divided into an intervention group and a control group. Flexibility, aerobic capacity, posture analysis and postural awareness levels of the individuals participating in this study were evaluated before and after the training. Initial measurements were made before the intervention group. Then, 20 minutes of Romspine theoretical training, 2 days a week for 8 weeks, and then 20 minutes of Romspine practical training were given face-to-face by the International Clinical Pilates Federation Master trainers. Romspine theoretical training; Romspine practice trainings consisted of strengthening the muscles that enable all joints to work, exercises for the ideal range of motion of all body joints, exercises for strengthening posture muscles, strengthening exercises for large and small muscle groups, and stretching and stretching exercises. After 8 weeks, final measurements were made. In the control group, first measurements were made. They were asked to exercise at home three days a week for 8 weeks. After 8 weeks, final measurements were made. As a result of the Romspine postural development theoretical and practical training and exercise program given in the intervention group, accompanied by an exercise and movement specialist, their posture awareness, knowledge of postural disorders, flexibility levels, postures, aerobic capacity, breathing and pulse rates, (p<0.05)
The Challenges Experienced by International Nursing Students in Nursing Education: a Qualitative Study

Methods: A phenomenological research design was used. The study was conducted with 20 international nursing students enrolled in a foundation university in T & uuml;rkiye. Colaizzi's phenomenological data analysis method was employed in the study. Results: Based on the study's results, three main themes, 'Learning in a different environment', 'Challenges', 'Solution-Non Solution' and 'System difference, Language problems in clinical practice, Broad nursing curriculum, Facilitators, Language barrier, Feeling homesick, Racism and discrimination, Housing difficulties, Lack of funding, Instant solution, Failing to find a solution sub-themes themes were created. Conclusion: It has been observed that students experience different environments, uncertainties, and various challenges, and that these situations directly affect their education and success. Antimicrobial Effect of Drinkable Lugol Solution
The death rates due to infection in patients receiving long-term antibiotic treatment and hospitalized patients are quite alarming. Treatment of multidrug-resistant strains of Acinetobacter baumannii, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus, which cause widespread nosocomial infection, has become a global problem. Alternative treatment methods are needed for these species, which use all their resistance mechanisms day by day. Recently, it has been seen that iodine (lugol) solution has been used in the treatment of many infections. Significant results are observed, especially for nosocomial and wound infections. The literature on the antimicrobial effect of Lugol solution is very limited. In order to scientifically support such treatments, we aimed to investigate the antimicrobial effect of lugol on resistant bacteria in a laboratory environment. In our laboratory, we have previously isolated Acinetobacter baumannii, Shigella sonneii, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus strains with known antibiotic resistance. For these isolates, the agar dilution method prepared with different concentrations of lugol and the Broth Microdilution Method were used. As a result of our study, it was observed that drinkable Lugol solution affects multidrug-resistant microorganisms at very low concentrations. Thus, Lugol's success in infection treatments will be scientifically supported
Geleneksel Yaşta Olan ve Olmayan Psikoloji Öğrencilerinin Eğitime, Sosyal İlişkilere ve Kariyere İlişkin Görüşleri
Bu çalışmanın amacı psikoloji lisans öğrencilerinin bölüm ve kariyer tercihleri, üniversitedeki sosyal ilişkileri, akademik güdülenmeleri ve öğrenme süreçlerinin incelenmesidir. Fenomenolojik desenin kullanıldığı bu araştırmada 11'i geleneksel ve 11'i geleneksel olmayan psikoloji öğrencisi ile yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Tematik analizler sonucunda elde edilen bulgular, katılımcıların psikoloji eğitimi kararını almalarında en fazla kişisel ilgi/merak duygusunun etkili olduğunu ve akademik güdülenmelerinin yüksek olduğunu, arkadaş tercihlerinde benzer özelliklerin önemli rol oynadığını; çoğunluğunun eğitim yaşamlarında sorun yaşamadıklarını ve kariyerleri ile ilgili planlamaları olduğunu göstermiştir. Geleneksel yaşta olmayan katılımcıların geleneksel yaştaki katılımcılara göre daha düzenli ve disiplinli çalıştıkları; daha fazla aile yaşamı ile eğitsel sorumlulukları arasında denge kurmak için çabaladıkları ve bilgi edinmeyi psikoloji eğitiminin olumlu yönü olarak algıladıkları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarının psikoloji alanında çalışan uzmanlara, akademisyenlere, kariyer danışmanlarına ve ileride psikoloji eğitimi almak isteyenlere katkı sunması beklenmektedir
Sporda Ebeveyn Katılımı Envanterinin Türkçe Versiyonunun Geçerlik ve Güvenirlik Çalışması
Bu çalışmanın amacı, Teques ve diğerleri, (2015, 2016) tarafından geliştirilen Sporda Ebeveyn Katılımı Envanterinin Türkçe formunun sporcularda ve ebeveynlerde geçerliliğini ve güvenirliğini test etmektir. Çalışmaya 90 kız (x̄yaş 12,73±2,02), 105 erkek (x̄yaş =13,49 ±2,29) toplam 195 sporcu (x̄yaş=13,14±2,20) ve bu sporcuların 140’ı anne (x̄yaş =43,84±5,72) ve 141’i baba (x̄yaş =46,66±5,37) olmak üzere toplam 281 (x̄yaş =45,25±5,71) ebeveyn katılmıştır. Sporda Ebeveyn Katılımı Envanteri sporcu ve ebeveyn algısını içeren dört farklı formdan oluşmaktadır. Formların yapı geçerliği için Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi, yakınsak ve ıraksak geçerliği için AVE, MSV, ASV ve güvenirliğini sınamak için ise Cronbach Alfa ve CR katsayısı kullanılmıştır. DFA sonuçlarına göre; Form 1’de üç madde (madde 8,26,36), Form 2’de bir madde (madde 5) düşük yük vermesinden, Form 2 ve Form 3’te ise madde 14 ilgili alt boyuta yük vermemesinden ötürü modelden çıkarılmıştır. İlgili maddeler modelden çıkarıldığında yapıların iyi uyum indeks değerlerine sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Öte yandan DFA sonuçları, Form 4’ün uyum indekslerinin düşüklüğü nedeniyle Türkçe formunun geçerli ve güvenilir olmadığını göstermiştir. Yakınsak ve ıraksak geçerlik için yapılan analizlere göre Sporda Ebeveyn Katılımı Ölçeğinin üç formunun alt boyutlarına ait AVE, CR, MSV ve ASV ve güvenirlik için Cronbach alfa katsayıları da kabul edilebilir sınırlar içindedir. Elde edilen bulgular, Sporda Ebeveyn Katılımı Envanterini oluşturan Türkçe formlarının (Form 1,2,3) spor ortamında ebeveyn katılımının algılanmasının sporcu ve ebeveyn perspektifinden değerlendirilmesi için geçerlik ve güvenirlik koşullarını sağladığı ortaya koymaktadır
Effects of <i>crataegus Orientalis</I> Fruit Extract on Lipid Accumulation in Oleic Acid-Induced Hepg2 Cells
Gulmez, Gizem/0000-0002-2036-7892; Sen, Ali/0000-0002-2144-5741During the recent years, much great deal of research has been conducted on potential use of certain herbs and nutraceuticals to manage nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), specifically with those strong biological activities and antioxidant ability. In our research, the goal is to investigation the protective efficacy of the ethanol extract of Crataegus orientalis fruits (COE) aganist lipid accumulation in oleic acid (OA)-induced hepatocellular carcinoma cells (HepG2) at the molecular level. Firstly, antioxidant activity and lipoxygenase activity of the C. orientalis were determined in vitro. For induction of lipid accumulation in HepG2, we established an in vitro model using 1 mM OA. The C. orientalis was evaluated for their ability to prevent from lipid accumulation and effects on sterol regulatory element binding protein-1c (SREBP-1c), acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACC1) and fatty acid synthase (FAS) mRNA levels involved in lipid metabolism. The C. orientalis exhibited moderate antioxidant activity against ABTS and DPPH radicals and a significant anti-inflammatory effect against the 5-lipoxygenase enzyme. The results demonstrated that the COE (100 mu g/ml) inhibited lipid accumulation (p < 0.01) and was effective in reducing triglyceride (TG) concentration (p < 0.001) and production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in HepG2 cells (p < 0.05). C. orientalis suppressed mRNA expression of lipid metabolism enzymes (ACC1, FAS) and transcription factor SREBP-1c (p < 0.001, p < 0.001 and p < 0.01, respectively). Our findings recommend that C. orientalis fruits are potentially protective against lipid accumulation in hepatocytes and may have beneficial effects in the treatment of the NAFLD. Synthesis, Molecular Modeling, Anti-Cancer and COX-1/2 Inhibitory Activities of Novel Thiazolidinones Containing Benzothiazole Core
In this study, new 1,3-thiazolidin-4-one derivatives containing arylmethylene groups in the 5-position were obtained from 6-(trifluoromethoxy)-1,3-benzo-thiazol-2-amine (riluzole). Synthesized compounds were characterized by spectral data and elemental analysis. In vitro, cytotoxic activities of the synthesized molecules were evaluated against the human lung cancer (A549) and human prostate cancer (PC-3) cell lines. Compounds were also tested on mouse embryonic fibroblast cells (NIH/3T3) to determine selectivity. Ten target compounds 3-12 were also screened for their COX-1 and COX-2 inhibitory activities. Of these compounds, 4 showed the highest COX-2 inhibition at 10 μM. Molecular docking calculations were performed to understand the binding interactions of compounds with COX-1 and COX-2 proteins. In silico studies of the tested compounds represented important binding modes that may be responsible for their anti-cancer activity via selective inhibition of the COX-2 enzyme. Effect of Pacifier and Pacifier With Dextrose in Reducing Pain During Orogastric Tube Insertion in Newborns: a Randomized Controlled Trial
Ozyazicioglu, Nurcan/0000-0001-9645-7221OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to assess the efficacy of pacifier use, with and without 25% dextrose, in reducing pain during orogastric tube insertion in newborns. STUDY DESIGN: In a randomized controlled trial involving 60 newborns at a public hospital from April to December 2019,participants were divided into three groups: pacifier (n=20), pacifier with 25% dextrose (n=20), and control (n=20). A pacifier, with and without dextrose, was used for the experimental groups, while the control group performed a routine procedure. Neonatal infant pain scale, crying duration, heart rate (HR), and oxygen saturation (SpO2) were evaluated. RESULTS: Results indicated that the control group experienced significantly higher pain levels, elevated HRs, decreased SpO2, and prolonged crying. Conversely, the pacifier with 25% dextrose group showed a notable reduction in crying duration. Distribution of Respiratory Infection Viruses in 2019-2020 Season and Determination of Oseltamivir Resistance of Influenza Viruses
Objective: This study aimed to determine the seasonal distribution of the factor data of viral agents determined by the multiplex PCR method in routine practice in patients admitted to the hospital with upper respiratory tract infection symptoms and to detect oseltamivir resistance in viruses that are positive for Influenza A (H1N1). Methods: Nasopharyngeal swab and bronchoalveolar lavage samples of 354 patients between the ages of 0-94 who were admitted to the Sakarya University Sakarya Training and Research Hospital with symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection between 12 September 2019 and 19 February 2020 were studied with the multiplex PCR method. Oseltamivir resistance was investigated in 11 samples selected from Influenza A (H1N1) positive samples by Sanger sequence analysis method. Results: One or more respiratory viruses were identified in 233 (66%) of 354 respiratory samples evaluated. Of these, 64 (27.5%) are Influenza A/H1N1, 4 (1.7%) are Influenza A/H3N2, 24 (10.3%) are Influenza B, 64 (27.5) are Respiratory. Syncytial Virus A/B (RSV A/B), 58 (24.9%) Rhinovirus/Enterovirus, 18 (7.7%) Adenovirus, 12 (5.2%) Human Metapneumo Virus (hMPV) ), 10 (4.3%) Bocavirus, 4 (1.7%) Parainfluenza 1, 7 (3%) Parainfluenza 3, 3 (1.3%) Parainfluenza 4, 5 (2.1%) were found to be Coronavirus HKU1 and 13 (5.6%) were found to be Coronavirus NL63. More than one factor was detected simultaneously in 45 of 233 positive samples (19.3%). Oseltamivir resistance was not found in any of the 11 influenza A/H1N1 positive samples. Conclusion: No oseltamivir resistance was observed in any of the Influenza A/H1N1 positive samples evaluated in this study. Periodic analysis of influenza A/H1N1 strains for oseltamivir resistance is necessary to guide empirical treatment
