Arici, Furkan Cihat/0000-0001-6360-0896BackgroundValid and reliable instruments are needed to assess person-centredness that serve as quality care indicators. Person-Centred Climate Questionnaire - staff version is an interculturally used tool to evaluate person-centredness in clinical settings. This study aimed to examine the psychometrics of the tool in the Turkish language.MethodsThis was a methodological study involving a sample of 140 nurses. One of the researchers collected data using the Turkish version of the questionnaire-staff version in a private hospital in Istanbul. After performing the language validity steps, the researchers analysed the content validity ratios of the items and the questionnaire's content validity index, and they performed exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis to validate the construct. The internal consistency of the subdimensions and the questionnaire was determined utilising a Cronbach's Alpha test.ResultsThe content validity ratios of the items ranged from 0.84 to 1, and the correlation coefficients ranged from 0.50 to 0.69. The three-factor structure accounted for 70.40% of the total variance. The items' standardised factor loads were between 0.501 and 1.140. The Cronbach's alpha consistency value was 0.90.ConclusionThe staff version of the questionnaire is an adequately valid and reliable instrument in the Turkish language
Virginia Woolf’un “Street Haunting: A London Adventure” Denemesinde Şehirde Dolaşmanın Kadın Biçimi
Evaluating and Comparing Student Responses in Examinations from the Perspectives of Human and Artificial Intelligence (GPT-4 and Gemini)
BackgroundGenerative Artificial Intelligence (AI) models, such as ChatGPT (GPT-4) and Gemini, offer potential benefits in educational settings, including dental education. These tools have shown promise in enhancing learning and assessment processes, particularly in dental prosthetic technology (DPT) and oral health (OH) programs.ObjectiveThis study aimed to evaluate the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of GPT-4 and Gemini AI models in answering examination questions in dental education. The study focused on multiple-choice questions (MCQs), true/false (T/F) questions, and short-answer questions (SAQs).MethodsAn exploratory study design was used with 30 questions (10 MCQs, 10 T/F, and 10 SAQs) covering key topics in DPT and OH education. ChatGPT and Gemini were tested with the same set of questions on two separate occasions to assess consistency. Responses were evaluated by two independent researchers using a predefined answer key. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Kappa coefficient for agreement, and the Chi-square test for categorical variables.ResultsChatGPT demonstrated high accuracy in MCQs (90%) and T/F questions (85%) but showed reduced performance in SAQs (60%). Gemini's accuracy ranged between 60% and 70%, with the highest accuracy in SAQs (70%). ChatGPT showed significant consistency across testing dates (Kappa = 0.754; p = 0.001), whereas Gemini's responses were less consistent (Kappa = 0.634; p = 0.001).ConclusionWhile both AI models offer valuable support in dental education, ChatGPT exhibited greater accuracy and consistency in structured assessments. The findings suggest that AI tools can enhance teaching and assessment methods if integrated thoughtfully, supporting personalized learning while maintaining academic integrity

Investigation of the Printability of Ethyl 2-[4 on Coated and Uncoated Papers]
There is a growing demand in the printing industry for pigment-based inks with excellent lightfastness and rub resistance qualities. In this work, a novel ink with the formulation ethyl 2-[4-(1,3,4-oxadiazole-2(3H)-thione-5-yl)phenylhydrazono]-3-oxobutyrate (OXKT) was prepared as a pigment and its printability was investigated for use in printing. The OXKT was synthesised, characterised then printed on uncoated and gloss-coated papers and Bristol cardboard. Physical tests and spectrophotometric measurements were carried out to determine the technical characteristics of the printed ink. Additionally, print quality, ink density and gloss were evaluated. The results showed that the proposed ink with the OXKT compound had acceptable rub resistance. Also, the gloss and light fastness values exceeded the acceptable rates for the printing industry because of their colour differences. However, more research needs to be conducted to improve light performance. Nevertheless, it is still possible for use in applications that do not stipulate strict light fastness values.Turkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Arastirma KurumuTurkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Arastirma KurumuScience Citation Index Expande
The Effects of Diaphragmatic Breathing Exercises on Individuals with Premature Ejaculation: A Randomized Controlled Trial
Background There are no standardized, evidence-based rehabilitation protocols for premature ejaculation (PE) which hinders effective management, the development of validated patient-reported outcomes, regulatory oversight, and the potential benefits of targeted interventions. Aim To investigate the effect of diaphragmatic breathing exercises (DBE) on PE. Methods Sixty-two participants with PE were randomly assigned to Group I (n = 31) or Group II (n = 31). Both groups received behavioral therapy (BT) and pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) twice daily, three days a week, for eight weeks. Additionally, Group I recieved DBE twice daily, every day, for eight weeks. Intravaginal ejaculation latency time (IELT) was calculated with a stopwatch, at the end of the 8th week (post-treatment), and at 1-year follow-up. Pelvic floor muscle (PFM) strength and endurance were evaluated with ultrasound, and changes in the in the autonomic nerves system (ANS) parameters (including the root mean square of successive differences [RMSSD], proportion of NN50 [PNN50], low-frequency [LF] power, and high-frequency [HF] power) were evaluated with an Elite HRV device at pre-treatment and post-treatment by a blinded assessor. Outcomes Primary outcome measurements were IELT, PFM strength and endurance, and changes in ANS paramaters. Results The study was completed by 29 participants (mean age = 31.4 ± 6.5 years) in Group I and 30 (mean age = 31.3 ± 7.6 years) in Group II. At post-treatment, all outcome measures showed significant improvements in both groups (P <.001 for all). Compared to Gropu II, Group I showed significantly greater improvements in IELT(P=0.12), RMSDD (P<.001), PNN50 (P=.003), LF Power (P<.001), HF Power (P=.003), strength(P<.001), and endurance (P<.001). The median IELT increase from baseline to post-treatment was 283 seconds (range: 84-870; 900%) in Group I and 204 seconds (range: 44- 581; 690%) in Group II. While IELT declined significantly from post-treatment to 1-year follow-up in Group II, no statistically significant change was found in Group I. Clinical Implications The effect of DBE on the ANS may help regulate the ejaculatory reflex. Strengths and Limitations This is the first study to apply breathing exercises with BT and PFMT in men with PE. Limitations include the lack of exercise adherence records beyond 8 weeks and the estimation-based IELT measurement at baseline. Conclusion Adding DBE, to BT and PFMT, yields better results in IELT (at 8 weeks and 1 year) and inreases PFM strength and endurance of PFM (at 8 weeks) in men with PE. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.Science Citation Index Expande

Synthesis, Molecular Modeling, Anti-Cancer and COX-1/2 Inhibitory Activities of Novel Thiazolidinones Containing Benzothiazole Core
In this study, new 1,3-thiazolidin-4-one derivatives containing arylmethylene groups in the 5-position were obtained from 6-(trifluoromethoxy)-1,3-benzo-thiazol-2-amine (riluzole). Synthesized compounds were characterized by spectral data and elemental analysis. In vitro, cytotoxic activities of the synthesized molecules were evaluated against the human lung cancer (A549) and human prostate cancer (PC-3) cell lines. Compounds were also tested on mouse embryonic fibroblast cells (NIH/3T3) to determine selectivity. Ten target compounds 3-12 were also screened for their COX-1 and COX-2 inhibitory activities. Of these compounds, 4 showed the highest COX-2 inhibition at 10 mu M. Molecular docking calculations were performed to understand the binding interactions of compounds with COX-1 and COX-2 proteins. In silico studies of the tested compounds represented important binding modes that may be responsible for their anti-cancer activity via selective inhibition of the COX-2 enzyme. ADMET predictions were conducted to assess the drug-like properties of the novel compounds.Science Citation Index Expande
Safety and Efficacy of Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cells in the Treatment of Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Ibrahim, Ismail; Oteri, Vittorio; Hafez, Wael; Shalabi, LailaIntroduction Many patients struggle to control glucose without side effects. Due to their immunomodulatory and regenerative properties, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) might treat Diabetes Mellitus (DM). The authors employed this meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of umbilical cord MSCs (UCMSCs) for DM management. Methods The PubMed, Cochrane, WOS, Embase, and Scopus databases were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) investigating the effects of UCMSCs on DM (Types 1, 2) till January 2024. Patient demographics, interventions, and outcomes, including glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c%), C-peptide levels, and insulin requirements, were extracted. A comprehensive meta-analysis software was used. Results Eight CTs of 334 patients (172 experimental and 162 controls) were included. UMSCs treatment substantially lowered HbA1c levels (MD = -1.06, 95% CI [-1.27, -0.85], p < 0.00001) with consistent outcomes (i(2) = 0%, p = 0.43). Fasting C-peptide levels were heterogeneous but favored placebo (MD = 0.35, 95% CI [0.15, 0.56], p = 0.0007). In T1D patients, daily insulin requirements decreased considerably (MD = -0.24, 95% CI [-0.29, -0.18], p < 0.00001), with heterogeneity addressed by sensitivity analysis. Conclusion UMSCs therapy reduced HbA1c and insulin requirements, and increased C-peptide levels. Multicenter clinical trials are required to confirm the long-term efficacy and safety of UMSC therapy.Global Alliance of Young ResearchersThe authors thank the Global Alliance of Young Researchers for their support and high-quality mentorship.Emerging Sources Citation Inde
