An Investigation of the Relationship Between Pain, Quality of Life, and Venous Refill Time in Chronic Venous Insufficiency

    No full text
Objective: Photoplethysmography provides information about global venous function and is also used to assess the time required to refill the veins within the dermis or the venous refill time. This descriptive cross-sectional study aims to investigate the relationship between pain, quality of life, and venous refill time in patients with chronic venous insufficiency. Methods: The study was conducted on a sample of 72 patients diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency. Data were collected using the Descriptive Characteristics Form, the Short-Form McGill Pain Questionnaire, and the Venous Insufficiency Epidemiological and Economic Study: The Quality of Life/Symptoms Scale (VEINES-QOL/Sym), and venous refill time was obtained by using photoplethysmography. Results: The mean age of the patients included in the study was 41.24 ± 13.58 years, and 54.2% were female. A positive correlation was found between photoplethysmography and VEINES-QOL/Sym, whereas a negative correlation was found with the McGill Pain Questionnaire (p < .001). The results showed that photoplethysmography significantly predicted VEINES-QOL/Sym and McGill Pain Questionnaire with a statistically significant correlation (p < .001). Conclusions: The results of this study indicate that venous refill time has a significant impact on both pain and quality of life. The findings underscore the need to mitigate the negative impact of CVI on quality of life in patients diagnosed with CVI. In this regard, it is of great importance to identify the factors that negatively affect the quality of life of patients with CVI and to provide counseling services for these factors. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.Science Citation Index Expande

Structural equation modeling confirmed that variety, service excellence, and competitive pricing significantly predict customer loyalty. The findings isolate cognitive and relational aspects often overlooked in existing customer-experience frameworks and offer practical guidance for platform managers seeking to enhance buyer retention through service quality, price competitiveness, and variety management.Social Science Citation Inde

Kat Mülkiyeti Hukuku Çerçevesinde Evcil Hayvan Bulundurma ve Evcil Hayvanın İçgüdüsel Davranışından Doğan Sorumluluk

    No full text
Kat Mülkiyeti Kanunu, kat mülkiyeti sistemlerini dikey ve yatay kat mülkiyeti olmak üzere iki ayrı sistem üzerinde yapılandırmaktadır. Özellikle toplu yapılarda evcil hayvan bulundurulması kişilerin hayatlarının olağan parçası haline gelmiş ve evcil hayvanlar kat mülkiyetinden doğan ihtilafların konusunu sıklıkla oluşturmaya başlamıştır. Evcil hayvanların yalnızca bağımsız bölümlerdeki içgüdüsel davranışları değil anagayrimenkulün ortak yerleri, eklentileri gibi yerlerdeki içgüdüsel davranışları da hukuki uyuşmazlıklara sebep olmaktadır. Bu durum kat mülkiyeti hukuku çerçevesinde evcil hayvan bulundurmanın sınırları ve bundan doğan sorumluluğu gündeme getirmektedir. Anagayrimenkulde evcil hayvan bulundurma öncelikle kat mülkiyetinden doğan borç ilişkisi çerçevesinde incelenmelidir. Kat maliklerinin dürüstlük kuralına uygun davranma ve birbirini rahatsız etmeme borcu ile kat maliklerinin yönetim planı hükümlerine uygun davranma borcu anagayrimenkulde evcil hayvan bulundurmanın sınırlarını oluşturur. Kat mülkiyeti sistemleri yönünden bu sınırların ayrı ayrı incelenmesi gerekir. Öte yandan, evcil hayvanın anagayrimenkul içerisindeki içgüdüsel davranışı ve bundan doğan zarar Türk Borçlar Kanunu m. 67 vd. düzenlenen, kusursuz sorumluluk türlerinden biri olan hayvan bulunduranın sorumluluğu kavramını da karşımıza çıkarır. Taşınmaz malikinin sorumluluğunu düzenleyen Türk Medeni Kanununun m. 730 hükmünün uygulanması meselesi de bu aşamada gündeme gelir. Geniş çerçeveden bakıldığında, anagayrimenkul içerisindeki evcil hayvanın içgüdüsel davranışı neticesinde doğan zarar Kat Mülkiyeti Kanunu, Türk Medeni Kanunu ve Türk Borçlar Kanununu kesiştirebilir. Kat mülkiyetinde hayvan bulundurma sebebiyle doğabilecek zararlarda somut olayın özelliğine göre birden çok sorumluluk halinin şartları gerçekleşebilir

Impact of Vibration on Thermal Energy Storage Performance: A Comprehensive Review

    No full text
The recent review delves into exploring the effects of vibration on the behavior of thermal energy storage (TES) systems, with a particular emphasis on phase change materials (PCMs) and their implication in both mechanical and thermal systems. This examination discourses a serious challenge in the field: the request to improve heat transfer efficiency and upgrade energy storage rates in PCM-based systems. These systems are frequently facing a number of limitations as a result to slow phase transition rates and variations in the heat transfer process, which deter their overall performance. Indeed, an inspecting of how vibration can influence these parameters, this review intends to detect advanced strategies for enhancing the efficiency of PCMs in energy storage applications. The findings disclose that ultrasonic vibrations and mechanical vibrations can dramatically speed up the melting and solidification of PCM. As an example, in the case of non-vibration, the best option offered was I-shaped fin with fins count 8, which reached a peak temperature of 316.2 K and maximum temperature difference at 3.8 K. However, the performance further enhanced with vibration, where the maximum temperature drops by 6.5 % and the temperature difference declines by 18.7 % for 4 I-shaped fins, which ranks as the best options due to the ratio of cooling effectiveness, cost, and weight. Also, the experiment indicates that ultrasonic vibration made melting 2.5 times faster and energy consumption was 2.3 two 2.8 Wh lower than during natural melting. Recommendations stress the idea that vibration is a promising, energy-saving, and efficient way to optimise PCM functionality. However, some issues such as the selection of key parameters, and system hybridization still have to be removed. These findings can offer helpful suggestions towards planning and development of advanced knowledge in TES and management. Overall, this review is needed to secure more efficient thermal energy systems, eventually contributing to more sustainable energy solutions.Science Citation Index Expande

Clinical Evaluation of Different Solvent Type and HEMA-Content of Universal Adhesive Systems in Non-Carious Cervical Lesions: A Two-Year Double-Blind Split-Mouth Randomized Clinical Trial

    No full text
Background Comparative analyses of different adhesive systems have illustrated that variations in the content can substantially influence the effectiveness of bonding. While in vitro studies provide essential insights, it is imperative that clinical recommendations derive from randomized clinical trials to ensure their reliability and validity. This double-blind, split-mouth, randomized clinical trial was conducted to assess the performance of various universal adhesives over a 24-month period, with a specific emphasis on monomer type, HEMA content, and solvent type, using the selective enamel etch approach in non-carious cervical lesion (NCCL) restorations. Materials and methods Thirty-two participants with two-hundred-fifty-six NCCLs were assigned to the two groups (n = 128): G-Premio Bond (GPB; GC) and Single Bond Universal (SBU; 3 M ESPE). The same composite resin (Essentia, GC) was used. Restorations were assessed at baseline, 12-month, and 24-month using the Revised FDI criteria by two blinded calibrated examiners. Statistical analysis included Fisher's Exact Chi-Square test, Continuity (Yates) Correction, and McNemar tests (p 0.05). Both adhesives exhibited a significant decline in marginal adaptation at both the 12-month and 24-month evaluations, as well as an increase in marginal staining at the 24-month interval (p < 0.05). Notwithstanding the observed decrease in marginal adaptation after 24 months, all restorations remained clinically acceptable and were classified as clinically satisfactory. Conclusions A clinical analysis over a 24-month period demonstrated that variations in the composition of universal adhesives-specifically concerning monomer types, HEMA content, and solvent type-did not significantly affect the performance of NCCL restorations. Notably, all retained restorations met clinical acceptability standards.Science Citation Index Expande

Dual Three-Phase Sparse Inverter: topology Analysis, PWM Scheme, and Common Mode Voltage Elimination

    No full text
Dual three-phase drives offer significant advantages for medium and high-power applications, including reduced current ratings for power switches, lower torque ripple, and enhanced fault tolerance compared to conventional three-phase drives. However, traditional three-level inverters used to drive these motors often escalate system costs due to their large number of power switches. This article introduces a dual three-phase sparse inverter designed to address these limitations. The proposed inverter utilizes only 16 power switches, a substantial reduction compared to conventional three-level inverters. This article also propose a carrier-based pulsewidth modulation (PWM) scheme that uniquely imposes no computational burden on the microcontroller. This PWM strategy incorporates a 180 degrees phase shift between carriers of two three-phase systems, effectively eliminating common-mode voltage and xy harmonics. A comprehensive comparative study was conducted, assessing the proposed inverter against both two-level and conventional three-level inverters based on total harmonic distortion and efficiency. To validate its performance, experimental results are provided for the proposed dual three-phase inverter driving a 746 W induction motor using a constant volt/Hz open-loop control method.Emerging Sources Citation Inde

    No full text
Neutrosophic numbers are effective tools for modeling uncertainty due to their flexibility in describing the information thoroughly, appropriately and comprehensively for decision-making problems. In this study, we propose a new approach for multi-attribute decision-making based on the Interval type-2 trapezoidal neutrosophic numbers. The approach is based upon the method of -cuts in terms of interval type-2 trapezoidal neutrosophic numbers. Being the generalization of the concept of simple neutrosophic numbers, the presented scheme uses the interval type-2 trapezoidal neutrosophic numbers to decision making problems. Moreover, consideration of decision maker’s risk attitude is increased the credibility of the proposed approach which hasn’t been considered in the existing techniques. Lastly, an application of assessment of houses has presented to elaborate the effectiveness of the given approach. © Crown 2025

The Relationship Between Banking Sector Development, Financial Development, Economic Growth, Renewable Energy and Coe Emissions: Evidence From Brazil and Türkiye

    No full text
In this research article, the impact of CO2 emissions on the environmental improvement of the financial structure in Brazil and T & uuml;rkiye, two emerging economy countries, is observed using comprehensive econometric methods in terms of banking sector development, financial development, economic growth and renewable energy variables. In particular, the research on financial and environmentaltransmission channels with the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis, which is widely mentioned in the literature, was examined with powerful econometric methods such as FMOLS, DOLS, CCR, ARDL, ECM, F-Bounds and CUSUM using annual data in the period 1990-2021. The findings indicate notable differences between these two countries. While the banking sector development variable was found to increase CO2 emissions in T & uuml;rkiye, it had no significant effect in Brazil. Furthermore, the renewable energy variable was clearly found to reduce emissions in both countries. In terms of the EKC hypothesis, Brazil is still in the rising phase, while T & uuml;rkiye has entered a declining phase. The lack of such a comprehensive analysis and research examining these two countries at similar development stages makes this article unique and offers the opportunity for a detailed methodological comparison. The findings emphasise that green finance policies should be designed differently, considering the dynamics of each country, and that uniform policies will not be sufficient.Emerging Sources Citation Inde
