Antibacterial activity on banana plants, has been carried out from the family Musaceae for Kepok Banana type (Musa paradisiaca Linn). In this test ethanol extract is used from the sliced part of the stem liquid. Before the test was carried out, phytochemical screening was done on water extract and ethanol extract. Obtained phytochemical test results indicate the presence of phenolic compounds: Flavonoids, Alkaloids, Tannins, Saponins, Steroids, and Glycosides. The purpose of this study was to evaluate Musa paradisiaca L. (Kepok banana) stem fluid for antibacterial studies. with agar diffusion methods and compared with drugs circulating in the Amoxicillin community. Musa paradisiaca ethanol extract showed a spectrum of antibacterial activity in microorganisms tested with the potential for inhibition starting to show active at 10 ppm against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureu

The search for active ingredients from plants that are secondary metabolites as a defense compound from plants has been carried out. This study was conducted to investigate the phytochemical constituents of Musa paradisiaca Linn’s pseudo-stem, such as alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids, terpenoids, and saponins. In this study, we estimated the content of terpenoids and saponins and determined the activity of 1,1-diphenyl-2- picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging. Ethanol extract of Musa paradisiaca Linn’s pseudo-stem, active as an antioxidant (IC 50 = 494.2) with a comparison of Ascorbic acid. Chemical constituents of ethanol extract of Musa paradisiaca Linn’s pseudo-stem are characterized by GC-MS, which shows that they contain triterpenoid organic compounds, such as: Corticosterone, Stigmasterol, Obtusifoliol, Lupeol, and 9- Cyclolanost-24-en-3-o

Indonesia is a country that potentially could produce crops such as vegetables, tubers, nuts can be found. Jicama has a very good potential to be developed as the benefits are many and contain inulin which can not be digested, can be processed as food, low in calories and good for health. Fresh jicama and high water content are rich in various nutrients like Vitamin C, while the mineral content is phosphorus, iron and calcium. The purpose of this study is to determine whether jicama extract can be formulated as a paste preparation and to find out whether jicama extract can eliminate wrinkles on facial skin. This type of research is a laboratory experimental study. The sample used in this study was Jicama (Pachyrrhizuserosus) with concentrations of 2%, 4%, and 6% obtained from Sikambing Traditional Market. Sampling was done purposively, without comparing with the same plant from other regions. The results showed that the preparation of Bengkoang paste with a concentration of 2%, 4% and 6% produced Bengkoang paste which has texture, colour, aroma and has a good mask drying test. The pH of the preparation ranges from 4.7 to 5.8 and does not cause skin irritation. One-way ANOVA test results on water content (Monsturaizer), pore, stain (Spot) and wrinkles (Wrinkle) show a significant difference between formulas not found. The conclusion of this research is jicama extract can be formulated as a paste preparation for Anti-Aging activity test

Clean and healthy living behavior is essentially the basis for preventing humans from various diseases. The initial survey results in Batu Godang Village, Angkola Sangkunur Sub-District related to the CHLB indicator shows that there are still many people who have not applied it to the household structure in Batu Godang Village, Angkola Sangkunur Sub-District in 2019. The research typed used quantitative with Quasi-Experimental research design with a one group pretest-posttest research design. The instrument used was an observation sheet distributed to 30 respondents. These populations were all family heads of 100 families, and the sample was determined by the Arikunto formula, so that the sample in this study was 30 households. The results of the data analysis showed that there was an effect of health promotion on several behavioral changes; baby weighing behavior every month (p=0,000), hand washing behavior (p=0,000), clean water use behavior (p=0,000), healthy toilet use behavior (p=0,000), mosquito larva eradication behavior (p=0,000), fruit and vegetable consumption behavior (p=0,000), physical activity behavior (p=0,000), non-smoking behavior (p=.005). In addition there were 2 variables that cannot be directly influenced by health promotion, namely the behavior of labor assisted by health workers (p=.489) and exclusive breastfeeding behavior (p=.320). Based on the results of this study it is suggested that health workers and other health promotion providers improve CHLB behavior in the household structure and can intervene the goal in improving hygiene to avoid various diseases

Coffee is one of the drinks favored by the community, besides having a distinctive smell and taste it also contains high levels of caffeine. Caffeine in the appropriate dosage can have a positive effect, but not all products have levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the caffeine content of Robusta 1001, Temanggung, Gayo, Lampung and Wamena coffee in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard 2983; 2014 and to determine differences in caffeine levels in each Robusta coffee sample. This reasearch type was experimental with a purposive sampling method. The analytical method used qualitative with Parry, and quantitative Ultraviolet Spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 274nm. Validation parameters specified were precision, linearity, LOD, and LOQ. The results of a qualitative analysis of all positive samples contained caffeine. The average quantitative results of caffeine were Robusta coffee 1001 (3.6%±2%), Temanggung (5.9%±4.8%), Gayo (8.9%±7.5%), Lampung (7,3%±4.8%), and Wamena (6.9%±3.5%). The validation test results obtained linearity r = .9962, LOD and LOQ that was .9478μg/ml and 3.1594μg/ml, RSD value was .56%. It can be concluded that all samples meet the requirements of the Indonesian National Standard 2983; 2014 with a minimum content of 2.5%. The highest caffeine content is Gayo (8.9%±7.5%) and the lowest is 1001 (3.6%±2%). It is suggested that future researchers obtain more significant levels using other methods such as HPLC. Keywords: Caffeine, Robusta Coffee, Ultraviolet Spectrophotometry, Indonesian National Standard
