Legal Protection for Children Using Paracetamol Syrup Products from the Perspective of Maslahah (A Case Study of Atypical Progressive Acute Kidney Injury)

    No full text
This study examines the legal accountability and consumer protection frameworks in Indonesia concerning the widespread health crisis caused by the consumption of contaminated paracetamol syrup, which led to cases of Atypical Progressive Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) in children. Using a normative juridical method, the research analyzes relevant statutory regulations, such as Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection and Law No. 36 of 2009 on Health, alongside Islamic legal principles, particularly maslahah (public interest). The discussion focuses on the obligations of pharmaceutical companies and the regulatory role of the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) in ensuring the safety and quality of pharmaceutical products. Findings reveal that both the manufacturers and BPOM failed to fulfill their legal duties, leading to significant material and immaterial losses for affected consumers. From an Islamic legal perspective, the concept of maslahah underscores the moral and legal imperative to protect life and public welfare, supporting the need for stricter enforcement and accountability. The study concludes that a more robust legal and ethical framework is essential to protect children as vulnerable consumers, and it advocates for an integration of national law and Islamic principles to ensure justice, transparency, and the prevention of similar incidents in the future

Predicting SPAD Values in Sri Lankan Paddy Rice Fields using UAV-based Vegetation Indices

    No full text
In Sri Lanka, the overuse of fertilizers by farmers leads to financial losses and environmental concerns. Due to the high cost and limited availability of SPAD equipment, UAV-based imagery presents a practical and cost-effective alternative for monitoring nitrogen levels in crops. This study evaluates the use of UAV-based multispectral imagery to assess the nitrogen status of rice crops and compares various vegetation indices with SPAD readings. Focusing on the BG300 rice variety. several vegetation indices were compared with SPAD readings using a Linear Regression (LR) model. Among them, NDVI showed the strongest correlation (R = 0.81106), confirming its reliability as an indicator of nitrogen status. This approach offers a cost-effective solution for Sri Lanka’s rice farming sector, aiding farmers in making more informed decisions to reduce fertilizer use and mitigate environmental impact

Nowcasting Green Investment Sentiment from Google Trends: An Environmental Economic Analysis Using Machine Learning

    No full text
This study investigates global public sentiment toward green investment by analyzing five years (2020–2024) of Google Trends data using machine learning. A Green Investment Sentiment Index (GISI) was constructed from five key search terms: green finance, green investment, climate finance, ESG investing, and sustainable investing. Results show that green finance consistently dominated search interest, with a mean index score of 38.5 and a maximum of 100. GISI rose significantly from 35 in 2020 to 68 in 2024—an increase of 94%—with major spikes during COP26 (2021) and COP28 (2023). The LSTM model outperformed XGBoost and Random Forest in forecasting sentiment patterns, achieving the lowest RMSE (6.8), MAE (5.0), and MAPE (9.8%), with the highest R² (0.93), indicating strong predictive performance. The model captured both seasonal peaks (Q4 increases of 20–25%) and event-driven surges (+42% in climate finance during COP26). This research contributes a novel real-time approach to environmental sentiment monitoring, offering scalable tools for aligning policy interventions with public awareness. It provides actionable insights for policymakers, ESG investors, and sustainability communicators. Future research should expand by integrating social media and news data and adopting interpretable AI for transparent forecasting

Rice Husk-Activated Carbon as Adsorben in Agricultural Wastewater

    No full text
Rice husk is an agricultural by-product rich in organic matter, and improper management can cause environmental pollution. Given the high carbon content in rice husk, it can be used as an adsorbent. Furthermore, the type of activator and activation technique employed impact the properties of activated carbon. Due to its ability to produce activated carbon with a high pore volume and specific surface area, Pottasium hydroxide is a chemical substance that is frequently employed. This study sought to ascertain whether rice husks might be used as activated carbon to lower the amount of organic matter in liquid effluent from the agricultural wastewater. The results of this study indicate that rice husk activated carbon can reduce the level of TDS by 86%, TSS by 53,85%, and pH 6 from the initial level. The data suggests that the 1:110 adsorbent-to-adsorbate ratio is the most effective in reducing TDS concentrations in tofu wastewater, providing a steady and significant decrease in TDS over time. In comparison, the 1:120 ratio shows a similar trend but with less efficiency, while the 1:130 and 1:140 ratios show less consistent and slower reductions in TDS. Therefore, the 1:110 ratio should be considered optimal for TDS removal in this study. Further optimization of the adsorption process may help improve the efficiency of higher adsorbent-to-adsorbate ratios. The data suggests that lower adsorbent-to-adsorbate ratios (particularly 1:110 and 1:120) are more effective in reducing TSS in tofu wastewater, with the 1:110 ratio providing the best results in terms of adsorption efficiency. However, further analysis may be required to determine the optimal time and ratio for the highest efficiency in the adsorption process. In this study, the normal pH value was obtained, namely 6. So, the results of pH measurement of the sample did not affect the adsorption process

This research aims to outline and identify various problems that arise in theimplementation of the Merdeka Curriculum by teachers at Islamic ElementarySchool. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection throughobservation, interviews and documentation. The main focus of this researchis how the Independent Curriculum is implemented and the challenges facedby teachers. Subjects involved in the research include principals, teachers, andstudents. The research results show that the independent curriculum has beenimplemented starting in the 2023/2024 academic year. Direct implementationwithout adequate preparation or training can be an obstacle to implementation. In its implementation, teachers are required to develop learning achievements, design learning objectives, develop learning objectives, develop projectbasedteaching, and apply learning that supports strengthening the profile of Pancasila students. This is a problem because at the implementation stage, teachers experience limitations in the availability of student books, the scope of material is too broad and requires high reasoning, and difficulties in determining appropriate teaching strategies and methods. In project-based learning, teachers also experience problems in designing projects that are relevant to the material and determining appropriate forms of assessment. Meanwhile, the solution to overcome these various problemsis that teachers can take part in workshops and discussion forums in teacher working groups (KKG) who participate in Merdeka Curriculum training, coordinate with colleagues, and actively seek information and references related to the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum

The models used at MI Darul Hikmah are Learning Together and Numbered Head Together where this learning model can be used as an effective and relevant learning strategy to be applied at the elementary school level

Polygamy Legal Politics in Southeast Asian Muslim Countries: Legal Pluralism and Qur\u27anic Perspectives

Polygamy regulations are designed to protect the interests of Muslim families; however, ironically, in some Muslim countries, these regulations have been associated with triggering domestic violence. This study aims to examine the legal politics of polygamy in Southeast Asian Muslim countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam using a legal pluralism approach alongside Qur\u27anic perspective. The methodology employed is qualitative with a descriptive-interpretative approach. The findings indicate that these three countries regulate polygamy through two reforms: intra-doctrinal reforms that accommodate religious and cultural norms and extra-doctrinal reforms encompassing legal frameworks, judicial systems, and institutional structures. Three main factors influence these legal policies: religious understanding, local traditions, and political and social dynamics. As ūlū al-amri (authoritative leaders), the governments of these countries are committed to regulating polygamy to benefit families and children by integrating Islamic values, local traditions, and colonial legal influences. These regulations align with the Qur\u27anic message that permits polygamy under certain conditions and strict requirements, aiming to achieve marital goals of tranquility (sakīnah), affection (mawaddah), and compassion (raḥmah). However, stricter supervision and substantive legal reforms are necessary to reinforce these requirements and impose sanctions on violators

LEGALISASI KAWIN BELUM TERCATAT (TINJAUAN TAFSIR GENDER)

    No full text
This article examines the legalization of unregistered marriages in Indonesia through the lens of a filogynous gender hermeneutic, with particular attention to the structural vulnerabilities faced by women within a patriarchal legal system. Employing a qualitative methodology that integrates policy analysis and critical discourse approaches, the study draws on document analysis and semi-structured interviews conducted with three Gender Study Centers in Purwokerto. The findings reveal that, although Ministry of Home Affairs Regulation No. 108 of 2019 provides administrative recognition of unregistered marital status, it fails to ensure substantive legal protection for women. The filogynous gender hermeneutic is proposed as an alternative epistemological framework that challenges structural subordination and affirms female agency within marital relations. The article recommends policy reformulation, strengthened gender literacy, and inter-institutional collaboration as strategic measures to secure women’s rights in the context of legally unregistered marriagesPenelitian terbaru terkait pencatatan Kawin Belum Tercatat di Kartu Keluarga menimbulkan polemik.
