Public space as a social refuge growing and afing with quality of life, in the sector of Padre Hurtado

    No full text
In the Padre Hurtado sector, the lack of quality and public space for the daily life of the neighborhood, It is presented from the social deterioration of the place, with the feeling isolated within the house as an individual alien to the context of the sector due to lack of security and social integration of the public space. From this is that it seeks to find factors of habitability in the neighborhood and public space and how this could refer to the condition of being a place of social refuge that responds to the experiences and experience of daily life, from the gender perspective in inclusive terms for both children and older adults. Since thinking of a public space as a social refuge allows us to understand the need for a natural physical space capable of responding to the daily life of the user who remains in the neighborhood and who is more likely to isolate himself from the outside due to lack of satisfaction and insecurity of thi

Efecto de la asignatura de educación física en la percepción de los estudiantes frente al desarrollo de competencias genéricas

The development of skills throughout the systematic practice of Physical Education (PE) has become a challenge. This is the reason why the focus of this reasearch is to know the effects of Physical Education on the students’ perception regarding the development of generic competences, applying the Questionnaire of Generic Physical Education Competences USM to 961 first year students from differents USM careers in 2017. The questionaire was designed to measure the variable exhaustively, considering four generic competences: teamwork, recreation, kinesthetic intelligence and ethics. These skills are part of the PE course outlines. The results showed that, in the case of the kinesthetic intelligence and ethics generic competences, the p-value was p<0,000. For the teamwork and recreation generic competences, the value was p <0.002.The Questionnaire holds a 95% of confidence and shows significant differences, since the significant p-value is p<0,05 and the obtained value was p<0,000. Therefore, it is concluded that students recognize that PE allow the development of generic skills throughout the systematic practice of physical activity, confirming that physical activity favors the development of generic competences and therefore, and contributes to the integral formation of the student

Effectiveness of Olympic Combat Sports on Balance, Fall Risk or Falls in Older Adults: A Systematic Review

    No full text
This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to assess the available body of published peer-reviewed articles related to the effects of Olympic combat sports (OCS), compared with active/passive controls, on balance, fall risk, or falls in older adults. The TESTEX and GRADE scales assessed the methodological quality and certainty of the evidence. The protocol was registered in PROSPERO (code: CRD42020204034). From 1496 records, eight studies were included, involving 322 older adults (64% female; mean age = 71.1 years). The TESTEX scale revealed all studies with a score ≥ 60% (moderate-high quality). The GRADE scale indicated all studies with at least some concerns, up to a high risk of bias (i.e., was rated very low). Meta-analyses were planned, although the reduced number of studies precluded its incorporation in the final manuscript. Only two from six studies that assessed balance found improvements after OCS compared to controls. No differences were found between OCS vs. control groups for fall risk or falls. The available evidence does not allow a definitive recommendation for or against OCS interventions as an effective strategy to improve balance and reduce the fall risk or falls in older adults. Therefore, more high-quality studies are required to draw definitive conclusions

Effects of active exergames training on physical functional performance in older females

    No full text
Objective: To analyze the effects of 8 weeks of an active exergames training program on walking speed, static balance, timed up-and-go test, and sit-to-stand performance in older females. Methods: Two groups of participants were formed by block-design randomization as follows: (i) control group (n=12; age, 74.1±7.9 years); (ii) 8 week exergames training group (n=13; age, 75.6±9.1 years). Training was undertaken three times per week, including athletic, bowling and table tennis exergames. Each exergame had a duration of 8 min, with 2 min of recovery between exergames. The intensity of the training sessions was controlled using the 10-point rating of perceived exertion scale. Results: Group×time interactions were observed for the 4 m walking speed test, static balance test, timed up-and-go test and the 5-repetition sitto- stand test (all p<0.01; d=0.46–0.80). Conclusion: Exergames training improve physical functional performance in older females. These results should be considered when designing appropriate and better training programs for older adults, since active exergames training it is an affordable and low-cost alternative for community centres and preventive health units working with this population

Traducción y adaptación transcultural del cuestionario para niños «Barriers and facilitators of sports in children with physical disabilities (BaFSCH)» para su uso al español en Chile

    No full text

Gravitational Decoupling algorithm modifies the value of the conserved charges and thermodynamics properties in Lovelock Unique Vacuum theory

    No full text
We provide an extension of the Gravitational Decoupling (algorithm) for the Lovelock theory with Unique Vacuum (LUV), which represents a simple way to solve the equations of motion. Due to the application of this algorithm, the energy of the system splits in the energy of the seed solution and the energy of each quasi-LUV sector. Under certain assumptions imposed, the total energy varies due to the contribution of energy of each quasi-LUV sector. It is provided a new solution, whose energy differs from the energy of the seed solution in a quantity that depends on the number of extra sources. The new solution has two inner horizons, which is a proper characteristic of itself. Furthermore, its thermodynamics differs from the seed solution, since our solution is always stable and does not have phase transitions. Since the first law of thermodynamics is modified by the presence of the matter fields, we provide a new version of the first law for LUV, where a local definition of the variation of energy is defined, and, where the entropy and temperature are consistent for LUV theory
