Focal melanization in the skeletal muscle of farmed Atlantic salmon is a great welfare and economic problem in the aquaculture industry. The focal discoloration is a result of a chronic inflammation in the skeletal muscle. This condition has not been observed in wild Atlantic salmon, thus the cause of the inflammation may be due to both external and internal (genetic) factors. The aim of the current study was to minimize the external impact, and possibly reveal a potential genetic factor contributing to the condition. Atlantic salmon of farmed, wild and hybrid origin were kept in identical rearing conditions. Growth parameters and presence of focal discoloration was registered at several time points. Data for: "The authors” make me think equally of women and men: Exploring mixed-gender representations in a visual categorization task
This dataset included two exploratory experiments that utilised the innovative Face Pair Task. In both experiments the visual stimuli shown were pairs of faces. Each pair was either two female faces, two male faces, or one male and one female face. In Experiment 1 only binary gender (i.e., feminine and masculine) word primes were used, and the experimental blocks were presented in a set order. In Experiment 2 gender-balanced primes were added, and block order was counterbalanced. This dataset contains eight files; two RStudio code files allowing for easy replication of how the analyses was conducted, two .txt files containing this code, two datafiles containing the raw data the code draws from, one .csv document containing raw data the code draws from, and one readme.txt file

Kuteva et al.’s World Lexicon of Grammaticalization (2019) is an inventory of examples of morphological reanalysis observed across a sample of over 900 languages. The goal of Kuteva et al.’s inventory is to represent grammaticalization changes that are documented in multiple languages. The examples are cataloged as types defined by Source to Target shifts, such as Ablative > Partitive, that are attested in two or more languages of the sample. The inventory lists 526 Source > Target types.
The purpose of this dataset is to explore how many Sources also serve as Targets, and to provide a broad semantic classification of the Sources. The classification is intended only for general description of patterns, and does not represent a precise assignment to mutually exclusive classes. Its purpose is to give a qualitative overview and thus does not lend itself to further quantitative analysis.

Replication Data for: Small rodent monitoring at Birkebeiner road, Norway
We provide a dataset of small rodent observations that show fluctuating population dynamics across an elevation gradient (300 m to 1,100 m a.s.l) and in contrasting habitats. This dataset encompasses three peaks of the typical 3-4-year vole population cycles; the number of small rodents and shrews captured show synchrony and peaked in years 2014, 2017, and 2021. The bank vole Myodes glareolus was by far (87%) the most common species trapped, but also other species were observed (including shrews). We provide digital data collection forms and highlight the importance of long-term data collection

DATASET MIGRATED FROM FIGSHARE: Article Abstract - Related PublicationEnvironmental DNA (eDNA) is an increasingly used non-invasive and cost-effective method for species detections in surveillance studies. The myxozoan endoparasite Tetracapsuloides bryosalmonae is the causative agent of proliferative kidney disease (PKD) in salmonid fish. PKD is a potential lethal disease of freshwater salmonids when water temperatures exceed 12-14oC for prolonged periods, and periodically high mortality and decline in farmed and wild salmonid populations in Europe and North America have been reported in the last decades. The aim of this study was to use eDNA as a method to detect Tetracapsuloides bryosalmonae from large, deep, dimictic Norwegian lakes. Such habitats are expected to become increasingly important for cold-water salmonids as climate warms. The samples were collected from five lakes in southeastern Norway, and parasite DNA was detected by qPCR. The limit of detection (LOD), the target DNA concentration needed to give a positive result in 9 of 10 reactions, was determined. eDNA from T. bryosalmonae was detected above the LOD-level in four of the five lakes surveyed. When including sub-LOD positive samples, results indicated presence of T. bryosalmonae in all five lakes. These findings corresponded with the detection of T. bryosalmonae DNA in salmonid-kidneys in four of the lakes in a previous survey. The detection of parasites from eDNA varied between years and stations within the same lake, revealing a changing and apparently stochastic spatial distribution of parasite DNA from year to year. Even with positive detections of T. bryosalmonae by eDNA, this method will not be able to reveal dynamics between the different parasite hosts or detect different susceptibility between salmonid species, as could be indicated from analyses of fish tissue. Strategies for eDNA sampling in deep, dimictic lakes are discussed.</p

Dataset abstract
The dataset includes annotated corpus data of N = 1811 utterances based on a picture description task that elicited semi-spontaneous oral production data from 15 Dutch learners of Hindi, from four (cross-sectional) stages (Years) of the Hindi course trajectory. The corpus data is annotated for (i) Learner, (ii) Year of study of the learner, (iii) the use of ne as an ergative marker, (iv) correct usage of the ne-marker, (v) the use of ko as a Differential Object Marker, (vi) the use of ko as another marker, and multiple features associated with ne- and ko-marking, including: (vii) specificity of the Direct Object, (viii) animacy of the Direct Object, (ix) transitivity of the sentence Verb, (x) perfectivity of the sentence Verb, (xi) other uses of the ko-marker, (xii) the semantic role of these other uses of the ko-marker.
Article abstract
We investigated the acquisition of Hindi split ergativity (ne-marking) and Differential Object Marking (zero or komarking) by L1 speakers of Dutch. Both grammatical phenomena are conditioned by multiple syntactic and semantic features. On a descriptive level, the study aims to examine when and how Dutch learners acquire and apply the conditional features associated with ne- and ko-marking. A specific learner corpus was created based on a picture description task that elicited semi-spontaneous oral production data from 15 Dutch learners of Hindi, from four (cross-sectional) stages of the Hindi course trajectory. We annotated the corpus data for multiple features associated with ne- and ko-marking. Using a mixed-effects logistic regression analysis, we found an increase in the use and accuracy of each case marker over the different years of study, but individual learner profile analyses revealed considerable intersubject differences in learner behaviour. We show that it is possible to define developmental stages for the acquisition of ne- and ko-marking in line with Processability Theory.

This dataset contains two annotated datasets used to create the tables and graphs in the paper "The apparent-time construct as a proxy to spoken conversational data in the 20th century: a Spanish case study". A first dataset contains tokens of the pragmatic marker 'sabes' and related epistemic expressions that were retrieved from different corpora of conversational peninsular Spanish recorded between 1970 and the first decade of the 21st century. The second dataset contains tokens from the pragmatic marker 'sabes' and related epistemic expressions that were retrieved from CORMA, a conversational corpus of peninsular Spanish, recorded between 2016 and 2019. The data from the first dataset is annotated for (i) form, (ii) corpus, (iii) decade, (iv) position of the marker in the turn, (v) pragmatic function. The data from the second dataset is annotated for (i) form, (ii) generation of the speaker, (iii) position of the marker in the turn, (iv) pragmatic function
