Dataset abstract:
The two data files in this dataset contain the annotated data used to conduct the Apparent-Time and micro-diachronic analysis presented in the paper "Vocativos contraculturales: cambios paradigmáticos y difusión hasta el español coloquial actual".
The first data file contains 1107 tokens of a carefully selected set of vocatives, including the most productive Spanish countercultural "cheli slang" vocatives 'tío/-a', 'tronco/-a', 'chaval-/a', 'colega', 'socio/-a', 'pibe/-a' y 'titi', in addition to the more general ones 'chico/-a', 'guapo/-a' and 'macho/-a'. These were extracted from CORMA, a conversational corpus of peninsular Spanish, recorded between 2016 and 2019, in order to conduct the Apparent-Time analysis.
The second data file contains 832 tokens of the same vocatives, retrieved from different corpora of conversational peninsular Spanish recorded between the 80s and the first decade of the 21st century, in order to conduct the complementary micro-diachronic analysis.
The data from the first data file are annotated for (i) form and (ii) generation of the speaker, while the data from the second data file are annotated for (i) form, (ii) corpus, and (iii) decade.Article abstract:
The present study aims to explore the diffusion, and its underlying factors, of the most emblematic vocatives of the Spanish countercultural cheli slang in the decades after the countercultural boom. By adopting an empirical approach, we examine how the leading vocatives from the cheli paradigm (e.g. tío/-a ‘dude/girl’) have spread in colloquial Spanish over the last fifty years, in contrast with a selection of vocatives marked by a more general meaning and usage (e.g. chico/-a ‘boy/girl’).
Special attention will be paid to changes in productivity of the analyzed forms. To this end, we analyze data from different corpora of spoken Spanish, namely CORLEC (90s), COLAm (2000s), and CORMA (2016-2019), which represent data from different decades. These corpus data are combined with documentary materials.
Results suggest that the semantic features, as well as the expressive power of the vocatives under scrutiny, play a crucial role in their trajectory until recent years.</p

Educational dataset: Application of long read sequencing to determine expressed antigen diversity in Trypanosoma brucei infections
The dataset is created for use in the teaching of the undergraduate course BINF200 - Analysis of Biological Sequences and Structures, first used in Autumn 2023.
The dataset contains (1) the processed, filtered and sample annotated sequenced reads in fasta format from Jayaraman et al (2019), repackaged in individual sample files and (2) a local database of variant surface glycoprotein (VSG) sequences in the Trypanosoma brucei reference strain TREU927.
The original data are available in GEO dataset GSE114843. Further details about the original data are available at github.com/siddharthjayaraman/longread-application (archived at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.10043245).
The database of TREU927 VSG sequences is based on the (outdated) TREU927 genome v26. It is included for educational purposes and to reproduce results from the original publication. For research purposes always use the most recent genome version at tritrypdb.org.

Replication Data for: Recycled aluminium alloys and their models: Role and behaviour of alloying elements during alkaline etching
Alkaline etching of aluminium alloysAlkaline etching is one of the most common pretreatments in the aluminium industry. In this work the mechanism of etching in a concentrated alkaline solution is studied for two different series of samples, AA3005 and AA6060 aluminium alloys, by mean of electrochemical and surface analysis techniques. The data included here are the results of electrochemical measurements as open circuit potential, polarization resistance, and Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, surface characterization as Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectroscopy (GD-OES), Scanning Electron Microscopy and Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (SEM/EDS). Furthermore, data from Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), used to characterize the composition of the etching bath, are also included. The dataset contains TXT, PDF files, and images in JPEG and PNG formats. All the files are contained in subfolders divided on the bases of sample composition and characterization technique

This dataset contains data on soil condensed tannin concentrations, soil nematode communities and other soil variables, as well as condensed tannin concentrations of vaccinium myrtillus and picea abies leaves. The data were collected in 10 fertilized and 10 control plots in a long-term fertilization study site.Abstract
Fertilization and combustion of fossil fuels have increased nitrogen (N) deposition over the last decades. Most boreal forests are N-limited; thus, increased N availability may have considerable implications for boreal forest food web structure and functioning. Soil biota are important drivers of ecosystem processes through their effect on carbon (C) and nutrient cycling. Among these, nematodes are ubiquitous in soil and respond quickly to environmental changes. They are thus useful in determining changes in ecosystem status. Boreal forest plants produce large quantities of condensed tannins (hereafter tannins), and these may decrease following N addition. As defence compounds, tannins may alter soil community structure by reducing microbial activity and deter microfauna. Using nematodes as indicators, we here investigated the linkages between N-induced changes in soil food web and soil tannin concentration. We utilized an experimental site where N has been added since 2003 at a rate of ca. 150 kg N ha−1 year−1. This have resulted in a shift in the understory, and consequently a 23 % lower soil tannin concentration. Fertilization led to a less structured nematode community dominated by bacterivores. Channel Index was 35 % lower in fertilized plots, indicating an increasing decomposition dominance by bacteria. Furthermore, the dominance of bacteria appears to have been inhibited by soil tannin concentrations in the fertilized plots. Overall, our study demonstrate that soil community structure strongly changes upon increased N availability, and lower soil tannin concentrations further facilitate the dominance of bacteria
Replication Data for: "Laboratory Evaluation of Mechanical Properties of Draupne Shale Relevant for CO2 Seal Integrity"
The dataset provides experimental data used in the analysis leading up the publication "Laboratory Evaluation of Mechanical Properties of Draupne Shale Relevant for CO2 Seal Integrity". Data provided is from triaxial compression tests and one incremental loading oedometer test on the Draupne shale from the Ling depression.Results are presented from one oedometer and eleven triaxial compression tests on vertical and horizontal samples of the North Sea Draupne shale aimed at deriving me-chanical caprock properties relevant for seal integrity evaluation during CCS operations. Important findings from the laboratory study are:
• For the intact vertical samples an apparent cohesion of 7.5 MPa and a friction angle of 18.7° was estimated based on constructed Mohr Coulomb failure envelope. Rela-tively similar values were found for the horizontal samples (cohesion 8.4 MPa and friction 19.4°). In terms of residual strength, the constructed failure envelopes showed a significant reduction in cohesion, whereas the reduction in friction angles was less significant. Both intact and residual strengths are important in operational design of CO2 injection operations to avoid fracture creation or reactivation of pre-existing weakness planes.
• Secant undrained Young's modulus measured between 40 and 60 % of peak stress was between 4.2 and 4.7 GPa for vertical samples and 5.7 – 7.1 GPa for horizontal samples. Average secant Poisson's ratio for samples of both principal directions were close to 0.5.
• Whereas the measured constrained modulus from oedometer testing showed little or no stress dependency, the consolidation coefficient decreased with increasing effec-tive vertical stress. Hydraulic permeability estimated from constrained modulus and consolidation coefficient therefore also decreased with increasing effective vertical stress. Increasing effective vertical stress from 33 to 75 MPa caused a reduction in hy-draulic permeability of nearly 50 %.
• The apparent pre-consolidation stress determined from oedometer incremental loading was 36.5 MPa. Consequently, the tested Draupne shale is considered nor-mally consolidated to lightly overconsolidated. The measured undrained strength from triaxial normalized against the effective vertical consolidation stress correlated quite well with overconsolidation ratio following the SHANSEP normalization pro-cedure developed for clays
GNSS Scintillation Data (60 s) at Longyearbyen in 2022
This data set contains phase and amplitude scintillation data at 60 seconds time resolution at Kjell Henriksen Observatory (KHO) at Longyearbyen, Svalbard.
The measurements were collected by the University of Bergen using a NovAtel GPStation-6 global navigation satellite system receiver. The measurements include signals from GPS, GLONASS, and GALILEO at different frequencies. These data are used for research on space weather disturbances in the polar ionosphere.

Background data (adapted from Jenset & McGillivray 2017) for: Down-sampling from hierarchically structured corpus data
Dataset description
This dataset, which is adapted from Jenset and McGillivray (2017), contains tabular files documenting the alternating usage of -(e)th and -(e)s to mark third-person verb inflection in Early Modern English. The data provided by Jenset and McGillivray (2017) are drawn from the PPCEME corpus (Kroch et al. 2004) and cover the period from 1500 to 1700. In total, 13,757 third-person singular tokens (excluding the verb BE) were annotated by these authors for a range of variables. For the purposes of the present methodological study, this dataset was reduced to a subset of 11,645 tokens, and the coding of variables was in some parts revised, completed, or modified. The dataset includes information about the Author and Verb Lemma, as well as a number of predictor variables, including Genre, Year, Frequency (of the verb lemma in the third-person singular), Phonological Context (stem-final sound), and the Gender of the author.Abstract for related publication
Resource constraints often force researchers to down-size the list of tokens returned by a corpus query. This paper sketches a methodology for down-sampling and offers a survey of current practices. We build on earlier work and extend the evaluation of down-sampling designs to settings where tokens are clustered by text file and lexeme. Our case study deals with third-person present-tense verb inflection in Early Modern English and focuses on five predictors: Year, Gender, Genre, Frequency, and Phonological Context. We evaluate two strategies for selecting 2,000 (out of 11,645) tokens: simple down-sampling, where each hit has the same selection probability; and structured down-sampling, where this probability is inversely proportional to the author- and verb-specific token count. We form 500 sub-samples using each scheme and compare regression results to a reference model fit to the full set of cases. We observe that structured down-sampling shows better performance on several evaluation criteria.</p
