    Replication Data for: Ditransitive constructions in Russian and Ukrainian

    Publication abstract: This paper presents new experimental data on the acquisition of structures involving ditransitive verbs in two East Slavic languages: Russian and Ukrainian. The results of an elicited production task with adults and 3-6-year-old children show that the ordering of the two object arguments (DPdat and DPacc) is conditioned by the givenness of one of them. Similarly to adults, children place given recipients before themes, preferring the DPdat-DPacc word order in recipient-given contexts. However, unlike adults, they prefer this order in theme-given contexts as well. We propose that these findings might be indicative of a preference for the underlying syntactic structure in child grammars and/or for the use of prosodic means to express the same meaning, rather than a lack of knowledge of the pragmatic principle Given-before-New at this developmental stage.The full dataset consists of (1) experimental stimuli (ppt), (2) coded data in an excel file, (3) the R file with the statistical analysis (txt), and (4) a method description

    Fluorescence microscopy videos of mitochondria in H9c2 cardiomyoblasts

    Series of three-dimensional fluorescence microscopy videos of the rat cardiomyoblast cell-line H9c2. Where indicated in the file name, the cells were adapted to galactose (galac). Normal growth conditions are with glucose (gluc). The outer mitochondrial membranes are labelled with the double tag mCherry-EGFP-OMP-25TM (dTag), i.e., both a red and green fluorescent protein variant. dTag can be used as a sensor for acidity (or lysosomal degradation), as the green fluorescence is lost sooner in an acidic environment than the red fluorescence. Where indicated, the samples are additionally labelled with LysoTracker Deep Red (LTDR). This data is a collection of fluorescence microscopy videos acquired to study the dynamics of mitochondria and the degradation of mitochondria in lysosomes. Correlative transmission microscopy images (trans) were provided for machine learning to later enable label-free detection of mitochondria and lysosomes. Each folder contains data from different experimental conditions: mCh_eGFP_CCCP: mitochondrial outer membrane protein 25 is dually labelled using mCherry-EGFP.     The two annotated data files in this dataset were used to create the tables and graphs in the paper "From Motion to Causation: The Diachrony of the Spanish Causative Constructions with traer (‘Bring’) and llevar (‘Take’)". All the tokens, which span from the 12th to the 20th centuries, were retrieved from the Corpus del Diccionario Hisotórico (CDH) and belong to the geographical area of Spain. A first data file contains tokens of the Spanish causative constructions with "llevar" and "traer", composed by the following elements: [NP1 + llevar/traer + NP2 + a + infinitive]. The second data file contains tokens of two constructional variants of llevar/traer causative constructions, with the preposition "en" or with no preposition: [NP1 + llevar/traer + NP2 + en + infinitive] and [NP1 + llevar/traer + NP2 + infinitive]. The data from the first data file is annotated for (i) century, (ii) causative verb, (iii) animacy of the NP1, (iv) animacy of the NP2, (v) position of the NP2, (vi) position of adjuncts, (vii) lemma of the infinitive, (viii) presence of multiple infinitives and (ix) semantic class of the infinitive.     Replication Data for: Spawning time in adult polar cod (Boreogadus saida) altered by crude oil exposure, independent of food availability

    This data set represents the raw data findings from the AeN Fram Centre (MIKON) experiment exposing wild-caught polar cod (Boreogadus saida) adults to the water-soluble fraction (WSF) of crude oil or control conditions and either at a low or high feed ration over their spawning and post-spawning period. Samples were taken during late gonadal development, during active spawning, and in the post-spawning period. The experimental set-up consisted of oiled-rock columns to simulate an oil spill by delivering decreasing aqueous levels of oil compounds over time. The adult polar cod were captured in Southeastern Hinlopen (78° 55'N, 23° 40'E) in November 2017 and transferred to the aquaculture research station of UiT in Kårvika, Norway (69°23'N, 18°10'E) where they were acclimatized to laboratory conditions for one year before the experiment began. The experiment lasted 131 days and during this time, samples were taken on day 0, day 47, and day 131. Morphometric, histological, gene expression, PAH metabolite, and steroid hormone endpoints were measured. In addition to the data from the fish samples, this data set includes PAH levels in the water throughout the experiment, PAH levels in eggs retrieved from females at day 47, and tank conditions during the experiment. In addition, a subset of polar cod was sampled to determine the dry somatic weight to wet somatic weight ratio for polar cod, this data is also included.     This dataset is related to the scientific publication: "Genome-wide hydroxymethylation profiles in liver of female Nile tilapia with distinct growth performance". Abstract of related publication: The mechanisms underlying the fast genome evolution that occurs during animal domestication are poorly understood. Here, we present a genome-wide epigenetic dataset that quantifies DNA hydroxymethylation at single nucleotide resolution among full-sib Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) with distinct growth performance. In total, we obtained 355 million, 75 bp reads from 5 large- and 5 small-sized fish on an Illumina NextSeq500 platform. We identified several growth-related genes to be differentially hydroxymethylated, especially within gene bodies and promoters. Previously, we proposed that DNA hydroxymethylation greatly affects the earliest responses to adaptation and potentially drives genome evolution through its targeted enrichment and elevated nucleotide transversion rates. This dataset can be analysed in various contexts (e.g., epigenetics, evolution and growth) and compared to other epigenomic datasets in the future, namely DNA methylation and histone modifications. With forthcoming advancements in genome research, this hydroxymethylation dataset will also contribute to better understand the epigenetic regulation of key genomic features, such as cis-regulatory and transposable elements.     This database comprises piezometer pore-pressure and temperature data, analyses from Calypso sediment cores (grain sizes and logs) and results from geotechnical tests (index tests and oedometer tests), used for the study of seepage systems along the Vestnesa Ridge, in the eastern Fram Strait. The data were collected over 2 research expeditions to the area. The reports for each of the expeditions can be accessed via Septentrio (https://septentrio.uit.no/index.php/cage): - CAGE20-6 cruise report (https://doi.org/10.7557/cage.6918) -CAGE19-3 cruise report (https://doi.org/10.7557/cage.6911) In-situ pore fluid pressure (P) and temperature (T) were measured using the Ifremer piezometer which consists of a cable-deployed tool equipped with a sediment lance of 60 mm diameter carrying differential pore pressure (i.e., pore pressures in excess of hydrostatic pressures or excess pore pressure) and temperature sensors ( e.g., In situ equilibrium pore-water pressures derived from partial piezoprobe dissipation tests in marine sediments, Canadian Geotechnical Journal, 50(12), 1294-1305). Calypso cores were taken for correlation with piezometer data using the Calypso Giant Piston Corer operated by the Norwegian Institute for Marine research and the University of Bergen. Density, P-wave velocity and magnetic susceptibility (MS) logs on the unsplit sections were registered using the multi sensor core logger (MSCL) at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø. The upper 9 m of the calypso cores were subsampled in 1-cm thick slices at 10 cm intervals in cores C-4 and C-12. Core C-5 was subsampled every 20 cm, except between 4 to 5 m depth where the sampling was performed every 10 cm. The textural characteristics of the sediments were determined through wet sieving at 63 µm to separate the mud fraction (clay and silt) from the fractions coarser than 63 microns (sand, grains and pebbles). Oedometer tests with constant rate of strain (CRS) were conducted at whole-around sub-samples from 2 depth intervals along each core at the labs by the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI). In addition, oedometer tests with incremental loading according to the ASTM D-2435 method were performed on 10 samples at Ifremer at approximately each 2-meter through the upper 9 m of core from sites 5 and 12

    This dataset includes all CT, density, and grain size analyses presented in Fig. S3 of Supplement 2 in Karstens et al. 2023 – published in Nature Communications. The data derive from two marine sediment cores from the Eastern Mediterranean: 1m long sections of POS-513-20 (36 °N, 26 °E) and POS-513-41 (36 °N, 27 °E) that contain volcaniclastic deposits from the Minoan eruption. These data were generated using a muffle furnace (bulk density), Mastersizer 3000 (grain size), and ProCon CT ALPHA scanner (CT data) in the EARTHLAB facility of the University in Bergen (UiB). All of these data are shown in Fig. S3 of Supplement 2, but also in Fig. 1 of the main text. Additional details may be found in our readme file. (2023-03-06)
