Danish-Norwegian Melusina Folkebøker
This dataset contains data for a study on Melusine-Folkebøker published in Denmark and Norway between 1613 and 1877. The purpose of this dataset is to provide a bibliographical catalogue of the various editions of this text from the two regions. Each entry consists of an "index-card"-style entry containing observations and information on each edition, as well as their publication dates and locations. The database also includes so-called "ghosts", meaning editions that are not accounted for but referenced by other catalogues and/or other secondary sources

This dataset consists of a collection of grammatical descriptions of the linguistic phenomenon 'voice' as it is presented in six different grammar books. The descriptions are paraphrases in Danish language and were created as a dataset to study crosslinguistic awareness in foreign language teacher education.Abstract: Foreign language teachers and learners can greatly benefit from an under-standing of grammatical descriptions in other languages from a crosslinguistic perspective. However, the diverse use of terminology in grammars may present challenges for direct application in a teaching context. This article explores the potential of crosslinguistic awareness as a tool for enhancing foreign language teaching and learning in a multilingual European teacher education context. By conducting a qualitative analysis of selected grammars of Danish, German, and Norwegian, this study investigates how these grammars position themselves linguistically and examines their descriptions’ applicability in a crosslinguistic setting. The study analyzes the linguistic function of receptive voice as a case. The findings indicate a metalinguistic diversity in the presentation of voice and diverse theoretical perspectives across the examined data. Furthermore, the pedagogical applicability of the analyzed texts varies both with regard to supporting a crosslinguistic perspective as well as direct use of the works in foreign language teaching across educational levels

The dataset deals with the exposure to a crude oil water soluble fraction (WSF) of capelin (Mallotus villosus) embryos from 6 days post fertilization until hatch (25 dpf) and the rearing of larvae in clean water until 52 dpf. The dataset included analyses of PAHs in the exposure and control waters over time, the PAH levels measured in eggs at 4 days post fertilisation, the counts of embryo normally and abnormally developed development, larval length, cardiac activity, arrhythmia, and larval density, over time. DATASET MIGRATED FROM FIGSHARE: This dataset contains data collected to study "Groundwater contamination from a municipal landfill: Effect of age, landfill closure, and season on groundwater chemistry". Groundwater samples were collected seasonally and analysed for 28 physicochemical parameters; temperature, pH, electrical conductivity, dissolved oxygen, potassium, sodium, ammonium, calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, nickel, zinc, mercury, chloride, sulphate, bicarbonate, nitrate, nitrite, total nitrogen, total phosphorous, total organic carbon, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB7) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH16).Article Abstract - Related PublicationGroundwater reservoirs continue to be threatened globally, mainly from anthropogenic activities. There is need to understand how remediation of groundwater can be influenced by site-specific factors. There are few studies, if any, that incorporate at least three site-specific factors in a single investigation of groundwater contamination from landfills. We report a study where waste age, landfill closure, and season were compared with changes in water quality, using a twenty-four-year groundwater chemistry dataset. Groundwater samples were extracted from monitoring wells and analysed for twenty-eight physicochemical parameters. Results showed discharge of both legacy pollutants and elevated inorganic pollutants into the groundwater. Among the site-specific factors, waste age was the most influential. At the landfill age of 21 years, concentrations of pollutants became close to the reference value. The result also indicated that closing the landfill caused significant decrease in concentrations of contaminants in the groundwater (P < 0.05). Season was the least influential, registering significant results only for dissolved oxygen, sulphate and chloride (P < 0.05). Lastly, the result showed strong attenuation of pollutants with distance, thereby demonstrating the feasibility of the aquifer acting as a natural treatment plant to the pollutants. This eliminates any serious environmental risk associated with the emanating leachate, but at a cost of prohibiting abstraction of the groundwater for human use, due to potential health risks.</p

DATASET MIGRATED FROM FIGSHARE: Abstract
Purpose: To characterize the association between dark-adapted rod and cone sensitivity and retinal structure in PAX6-related aniridia.
Methods: Dark-adaptation curves were measured after 5 minutes exposure to bright light with red (625 nm) and green (527 nm) 2°circular light stimuli presented at ≈20 degrees temporal retinal eccentricity in 27 participants with aniridia (9 males; 11–66 years) and 38 age-matched healthy controls. A two-stage exponential model was fitted to each participant’s responses to determine their cone and rod thresholds over time. The thicknesses of macular inner and outer retinal layers were obtained from optical coherence tomography images in 20 aniridia patients and the 38 healthy controls. Aniridia associated keratopathy (AAK) grade (0–3) and lens opacities were quantified by clinical examination of the anterior segment.
Results: The rod-cone break time was similar between aniridia patients and healthy controls. Dark-adapted cone and the rod thresholds were higher in aniridia compared with healthy controls. In aniridia, foveal outer retinal layer thickness correlated with both final cone- and rod-thresholds. A multiple regression model indicated that foveal outer retinal layer thickness and age were the main explanatory variables to predict both final cone- and rod-thresholds in aniridia when the AAK grade was 2 or less.
Conclusions: The results show that both rod and cone-related function are affected in PAX6-related aniridia and implies that retinal anatomical and physiological changes extend beyond the area commonly studied in this condition: the central macula.</p

Background Data for: The complexity principle and the morphosyntactic alternation between case affixes and postpositions in Estonian
Manually annotated dataset of 3,000 uses of exterior locative constructions (specifically cases and postpositions) in present-day Estonian. The data is extracted from the Estonian National Corpus (ENC 2017; 1.1 billion words, mainly web-based texts). The data includes 500 uses of each of the following constructions: allative, adessive, ablative, peale, peal, pealt. The data sampling procedure and more details about the dataset is given in Klavan & Schützler (to appear in Cognitive Linguistics). The data is annotated for 9 variables: postpos (outcome variable: case, postposition), position (post, pre), complexity (simple, compound), length (length in syllables of landmark phrase), frequency (raw frequency of landmark form in association with the respective semantic relation), function (adverbial, modifier), verb_lemma (224 levels for lative, 279 levels for locative, 252 levels for separative), lm_lemma (592 levels for lative, 438 levels for locative, 528 levels for separative), sem_rel (lative, locative, separative). Raw multibeam echosounder data collected on-board R/V Helmer Hanssen during the CAGE 17-2 AMGG cruise to the Olga Basin, northern Barents Sea
This dataset includes raw multibeam echosounder data collected on-board R/V Helmer Hanssen during the CAGE 17-2 AMGG cruise to the Olga Basin, northern Barents Sea between June 21st to July 3rd, 2017. Data were collected using a Kongsberg Simrad EM302 multibeam echosounder system. The nominal sonar frequency of the sound waves is 30 kHz with an angular coverage sector of up to 150° and 432 beams per ping. The system was typically used with a 60°/60° opening angle.
The dataset comprises Kongsberg bathymetry files, as well as water column data files and sound velocity profiles gathered from 8 CTD casts. Water column data collection was not continuous during the cruise, for example during transits between study areas. Data coverage includes the transit from Longyearbyen, Outer Storfjordrenna, the Olga Basin (Storbanken), and transit to Tromsø over West Sentralbanken, with files split according to their day of collection. Pigs used in research are often subjected to procedures for which pain relief is crucial. However, the literature indicates that analgesics are under-reported and under-used in experiments involving pigs. Fentanyl is one of the opioids used to provide post-operative pain relief in experimental pigs. Analgesic requirements are often assessed using behavioral indicators such as activity. However, the effects of fentanyl on behavior in pigs are largely unknown. The aims of the current study were to investigate how fentanyl influences behavior in pigs, and if serotonin could be involved in fentanyl-induced behavioral side effects.
