    The dataset contains 5 seismic surveys of single-channel 2D seismic lines (62 in total) on the mid-Norwegian and Lofoten-Vesterålen continental margins (in the area of the Norwegian Sea, Vøring Marginal High and Lofoten Basin). These lines were collected by UiT The Arctic University of Norway during cruises in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2010 with R/V Jan Mayen (now R/V Helmer Hanssen). The data is used in the accepted manuscript entitled "Contrasting Neogene-Quaternary continental margin evolution offshore mid-north Norway: Implications for source-to-sink systems".Abstract: The Neogene–Quaternary development of the ~700 km long mid-Norwegian and Lofoten–Vesterålen continental margin is reconstructed using a dense grid of 2D seismic data and exploration wellbores. Overall, widespread ocean current-controlled contourite drifts built up along the whole margin segment from the mid-Miocene onwards (c. 11 Ma, Kai Formation). The onset (c. 8.8 Ma) of a large inner shelf progradation (Molo Formation) was, however, restricted to the southern part of the study area, the inner mid-Norwegian shelf. In the Quaternary (c. 2.7 Ma), grounded ice sheets have repeatedly brought large sediment volumes (Naust Formation) to the shelf beyond the Molo Formation. A similar build-out is less pronounced further north, where contourite drift growth instead continued and resulted in build-up of the Lofoten and Vesterålen drifts. In contrast, the drifts of the southern part of the study area occur stratigraphically below, interbedded with and distal to the progradational Molo and Naust deposits.The study area exemplifies pronounced variability in Neogene–Quaternary continental margin growth. The wide and gently dipping mid-Norwegian margin facilitated coastal and shelf progradation related to fluvial and glacial processes, while the narrow and steep Lofoten–Vesterålen margin received little input from these sources although exposed to the same paleoclimate. Instead, erosion of canyons promoted downslope reworking across the slope and into the deep basins. This is interpreted to be controlled by the size of the onshore source area, having an alpine relief in the north resulting in a small source area and thus low fluvial and glacial sediment input. To the south, hinterland relief allowed for a much larger fluvial and later, glacial source area. Both margin segments were throughout the studied period also influenced by contour currents, and we emphasize their importance for understanding the role of erosion and deposition in source-to-sink systems, and thus the need for these processes to be integrated within future source-to-sink models

    This dataset contains a series of three-dimensional fluorescence microscopy videos of the rat cardiomyoblast cell-line H9c2. The outer mitochondrial membrane is labeled with either mCherry (a red fluorescent protein) or eGFP (enhanced green fluorescent protein). Membrane-bound vesicles called endosomes are labeled using mCLING-ATTO647n. A portion of the data is further labeled for acidic vesicles (LysoTracker) and/or has correlative images in brightfield mode (label-free, transmission microscopy). This data is a collection of fluorescence microscopy videos acquired to study the dynamics of mitochondria and the interaction of different subcellular vesicles. Correlative transmission microscopy images (trans) were provided for machine learning to later enable label-free detection of mitochondria and distinguish between different types of vesicles. As three different cameras were used to enable the fast multi-color acquisition, all data has been "channel aligned", i.e., registered to the same sample coordinate system for accurate colocalization of different cellular components. Both unprocessed widefield images and deconvolved data are provided (dimensions: 3D-channels-time) plus maximum intensity z-projected data and AVI-movies of the deconvolved images to enable a quick and easy visualization of the else large image files

    The dataset contains high resolution seismic (.segy) acquired using the 3D P-cable system onboard the RV Helmer Hanssen on research cruise CAGE 18-4 (https://doi.org/10.7557/cage.6850), and Chirp (.sgy) data acquired using the Kongsberg SBP300 (MK2) onboard the RV Kronprins Haakon on research cruise CAGE 19-3 (https://doi.org/10.7557/cage.6911). The dataset also contains bottom simulating reflection (BSR) modelling (.txt) files.Seafloor hydrocarbon seepage is a natural fluid release process that occurs worldwide on continental shelves, slopes, and in deep oceanic basins. The Vestnesa sedimentary ridge in the eastern Fram Strait hosts a deep-water gas hydrate system that became charged with hydrocarbons ~2.7 Ma and has experienced episodic seepage along the entire ridge until a few thousand years ago, when seepage activity apparently ceased in the west but persisted in the east. Although it has been documented that faults and fractures play a key role in feeding the seeps with thermogenic gases, the mechanisms controlling seepage periodicity remain poorly understood. Here we integrate high-resolution P-cable 3D seismic data and Chirp data to investigate the spatial and temporal evolution of high-resolution fractures and fluid flow features in the west of the Vestnesa Ridge. We characterize sediment deformation using the fracture density seismic attribute workflow revealing two highly deformed stratigraphic intervals and associated small-scale pockmarks (< 20 m diameter). Chronostratigraphic constraints from the region show that two highly deformed intervals are influenced by at least three major climatic events for last 1.2 million years: the Mid-Pleistocene Transition (~1.25 – 0.7 Ma), the penultimate deglaciation (~130 Ka) and the last deglacial warming (~14 – 15 Ka). These periods of deformation appear associated with buried methane-derived authigenic carbonate and are potentially sensitive to shifts in the boundary of the free gas - gas hydrate interface. In addition, our results show that it is likely that several metre shifts in the depth of the base of the gas hydrate stability zone associated with major climatic changes, have enhanced deformation and gas leakage along the ridge. Our results have implications for understanding how changes in eustatic sea level and glacial isostatic loading, through key climatic periods, impacts fracture formation and the control on seepage activity.</p

    Correspondence Metadata from the Digital Scholarly Edition of Edvard Munch's Writings

    The eMunch dataset contains correspondence metadata of 8.527 letters to and from the Norwegian painter Edvard Munch (1863-1944). The dataset is derived from the digital scholarly edition of Edvard Munch's Writings, eMunch.no, edited by Hilde Bøe, The Munch Museum, Oslo. The eMunch dataset is part of the NorKorr - Norwegian Correspondences project that aims to collect metadata from all correspondences in collections of Norwegian academic and cultural heritage institutions, project website on GitHub. A Python script was developed to parse the XML files on eMunch.no and supplementary data files (Excel spreadsheet with updated dates, CSV file with GeoNames IDs for places) and extract the following metadata: sender's name, receiver's name, place name, date, and letter ID in the scholarly edition. These metadata were then converted into the Correspondence Metadata Interchange Format (CMIF). The entire dataset has been integrated into the international CorrespSearch search service for scholarly editions of letters hosted by the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences—link to the CorrespSearch website

    Background data for: "Risky Positioning - social aspirations and risk-taking behaviour in avalanche terrain"

    This dataset contains information from a survey that was distributed in North America from January to April, in 2018. To target the population of interest for this study, backcountry riders, we distributed a link to the survey via the American avalanche education provider the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE), an American-based producer of avalanche safety equipment (BCA), 14 American-based backcountry avalanche- forecasting centres, and a popular magazine for backcountry riding (Powder Magazine). We also presented at several regional snow and avalanche workshops in the Western USA to solicit participation. To incentivize participants to complete the survey, they were given the opportunity to participate in a lottery to win one of a set of spot prizes (value approx. $70). The dataset contains information about backcountry experience, avalanche assessment training, experience of avalanche incidents, risk preferences, social norms, positional preferences, and terrain choices. The data has been aggregated to avoid identification of individual participants. The empirical analysis in Mannberg et al., (2021) is based on non-aggregated individual data. The sample size is N = 648.</p
