    This file is a supplementary figures for the manuscript "Sexually dimorphic regulation of gonadotrope cell hyperplasia in medaka pituitary via mitosis and transdifferentiation"The two pituitary gonadotropins, Fsh and Lh, regulate the reproductive function in vertebrates. While many studies have investigated the regulation of gonadotropin production and release by the sex steroid feedback, its role on the regulation of gonadotrope cell number remains unclear. Using medaka as a model and an optimized protocol to restore physiological sex steroids levels following gonadectomy, we show that gonadal sex steroids not only decrease fshb transcript levels, but also Fsh cell number in both sexes. We then investigated the origin of the Fsh cell hyperplasia induced by gonadectomy. In both sexes, BrdU incubation shows that this is achieved via Fsh cell mitosis. In situ hybridization reveals that new Fsh cells also originate from transdifferentiating Tsh cells in females, but not in males. Both phenomena are inhibited by sex steroid supplementation via feeding. In males (but not females), gonadectomy (without recovery with sex steroid supplementation) also reduces sox2 transcript levels and Sox2-immunopositive population volume, suggesting that sox2-progenitors may be recruited to produce new Fsh cells. Opposite to Fsh cells, gonadectomy decreases lhb levels in both sexes, and levels are not restored by sex steroid supplementation. In addition, the regulation of Lh cell number also seems to be sex dependent. Removal of gonadal sex steroids stimulates Lh cell mitosis in male (like Fsh cells), but not in females. To conclude, our study provides the first evidence on sexually dimorphic mechanisms used in the fish pituitary to remodel gonadotrope populations in response to sex steroids

    Replication Data for: Typology of reduplication in Russian: constructions within and beyond a single clause

    We analyze repetition in Russian from the perspective of the Russian Constructicon which represents over 2200 grammatical constructions described in terms of anchors (fixed elements) and slots (for various filler elements) and fully annotated for their syntactic and semantic characteristics. The Russian Constructicon facilitates the first large-scale investigation of reduplication across a representative sample of an entire language, enabling us to map out a typology invoking these and other factors in the context of Construction Grammar. Our data on repetitions includes 118 constructions tagged the Russian Constructicon for Reduplication, meaning that repetition occurs within a clause, and 28 entries tagged as Discourse “Echo” Constructions because they require the repetition of a word or phrase from a previous clause (often provided by an interlocutor). Five constructions carry both tags. We propose a theoretical expansion of the definition of reduplication to include the Discourse “Echo” type, arguing that constructions are not limited to a single clause or even to a single speaker. Our typology further explores the distribution of various formal and semantic factors observed in constructions with repetition and compares them with both previous typological research on reduplication and their distribution across the entire Russian Constructicon. Despite the fact that Russian does not use reduplication as a productive grammatical marker, we argue that reduplication is widespread and systematic in Russian

The experiment design was a 4x4 latin square design, inccluding 4 treatments and 4 periods, which is described in supplementary tables.     The data set consists of data on birth and mortality rates, as well as health personnel in Norway between 1887 and 1921. The data is drawn from comprehensive annual medical reports published by Direktøren for det civile Medicinalvæsen. They reports are based on submissions from local physicians and were published in the 19th and 20th century.     This is to provide a repository of the EOF base functions for my publication "Modeling TEC Irregularities in the Arctic Ionosphere Using Empirical Orthogonal Function Method" submitted for review. The coordinates of the base functions are also provided. The regression coefficients in Table 3 of the manuscript for the fit of the EOF coefficients (A1-A4) are also uploaded. The base functions are derived from 12 years of IGS ROTI maps. These can be used to build the empirical model for ionospheric irregularities

    Through five experiments, a combination of I-joists with different flange sizes and different combustible insulation types (wood fibre, cellulose and phenolic foam) were exposed to the standard fire curve (ISO 834) in a medium-scale furnace. the aim was to better understand the charring mechanisms of the I-joist when protected with a combustible insulation. Thermocouples were embedded into and outside of the flanges and used to determine the charring rate of the I-joist and the recession rate for the insulation. After exposure, the final char depth and the remaining cross-section were measured. Raw data of temperature measurements are provided here.
