The Role of Maritime Training in Algeria in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals
No full textInternational audienceAlgeria has officially adopted the United Nations' 2030 Agenda and is committed to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 14, "Life Below Water," which concerns the maritime sector, a strategic component of the national economy. In this regard, several measures have been implemented, notably the training of maritime professionals to reduce accidents affecting the marine environment and contribute to addressing maritime challenges. This paper aims to examine the regulatory frameworks and policy orientations governing this field and to evaluate the nature and content of maritime training programs in order to determine their role in advancing the SDGs. Data were collected through a qualitative approach combining document analysis and interviews.The findings reveal that Algeria has established strategic orientations for the maritime sector to address environmental challenges and mitigate the stagnation observed in SDG 14 progress. A legislative and institutional framework has been developed, and maritime training and research have been integrated into the strategies of higher education institutions. Regarding training programs, ENSM designs and offers degree, qualification, and certification programs to meet the sector's needs. However, the study highlights a lack of international partnerships and the limited presence of social sciences and humanities courses in maritime training curricula. As for sustainable development concepts, the results show that they are integrated into certain modules of training programs, in addition to other seminars and study days organized to raise awareness of these issues.</div
Critical Micelle Concentration Determination with Non-contact RF Dielectric Impedancemetry for Surfactants in Solution
No full textInternational audienceSurfactants are a widely used family of polar molecules which possess both hydrophilic and lipophilic parts. Their polar conformation properties make them useful in a variety of applications, including emulsion stabilization, drug delivery, and detergency. In a colloidal solution, surfactant molecules self-aggregate to form micelles which can be used to reduce the surface tension of oil-water interfaces in emulsions. The Critical Micelle Concentration (CMC) is the point at which the surfactant undergoes self-aggregation, forming a separate phase that modifies the electrical and mechanical properties of the colloidal solution. From a kinematic perspective, it is related to the critical stage at which the droplets are stabilized by the surfactant molecules. The CMC can be estimated using a variety of techniques. Each method possesses its own inherent limitations, which can result in approximations, especially when dealing with mixtures of multiple surfactants and polymers. This article presents a novel contactless radiofrequency inductive technique for measuring the CMC of surfactants in complex fluids. This method is based on the monitoring of the dielectric properties of the complex medium. The effectiveness of the technique is validated using known surfactants according to literature and conventional methods. The capacity of this technique to provide consistent and accurate CMC values, even for complex solutions comprising multiple surfactants, is demonstrated

These workshops can have a direct impact on the learning of academic skills. The GTnum CreaJV (Groupe thématique numérique “Apprendre avec le jeu numérique” 2021 -2024 €CreaJV) has implemented and observed video game creation workshops in the classroom, from primary school to BTS. In the course of this activity, students work on a variety of cross-disciplinary skills (creativity, communication, problem-solving, etc.). A comparison of process damping modelling as local flank face interaction and as macroscopic modal feature in a time domain machining simulation
No full textInternational audienceDissipative components of tool-workpiece interaction are of major importance in cutting-related vibrations. At the macroscopic vibration scale, such dissipation is usually accounted for by additional generalized damping forces in the equation of motion of the system’s elastodynamics. A finer consideration at cutting edge scale would bring up a line-distributed force mostly of ploughing nature. These two scales are usually linked by analytical integration, involving simplifying kinematical assumptions. In the present work a comparative investigation is proposed, for a machining operation, considering both representations in a detailed time domain modeling framework. Tool’s cutting edges are represented in a discretized manner, i.e. split into numerous elementary cutters allowing for detailed tool-workpiece interaction force distribution. The matter removal process is modeled via dexel-based surface discretization coupled with finite element-based modal shapes, enabling a consistent machined surface generation representation. Finally, the equations of motion are formulated for modal degrees of freedom and solved by a time marching algorithm. Based on these analyses, the limitations of resulting process damping force terms representations are considered regarding vibrations and interaction force magnitudes

Dynamique interactionnelle dans un dispositif écologique d'apprentissage de l'anglais
No full textIn the contemporary context in which both lifelong and life-wide English learning is possible (The Douglas Fir Group, 2016), this doctoral research examines the design of institutional language learning environments in higher education institutions. The aim here is to understand how adult professionals learn English in multiple environments that carry constraints and affordances. More specifically, we have explored whether, why and how adult professionals learn English in an institutional learning environment that is open to their personal ecology, as provided by the Cnam (Conservatoire national des arts et métiers).From the perspective of interactional dynamics and the concept of “apprenance” (Carré, 2005, 2020), we have identified, at both individual (case studies) and collective levels, what is likely (or unlikely) to trigger and sustain the dynamics, as well as the effects of the dynamics in terms of language development and learning dispositions, over time.We conducted a longitudinal study and carried out a content analysis (Bardin, 2013) of the data collected, both qualitative and quantitative (based on questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, logbooks, learning narratives and recorded counselling sessions), during the course and then six months later.The results highlight the emergence of dynamic interaction networks resulting from the combinations of environments, resources and multiple learning processes, made possible by the ecological language learning environment. The results also unveil the interactions between endogenous, exogenous and enactive factors which are potentially involved in the development of the language and learning dispositions, as well as in their support over time.Dans le contexte actuel où il est possible de pratiquer et apprendre l'anglais tout au long et tout au large de la vie (The Douglas Fir Group, 2016), cette recherche doctorale vient interroger les dispositifs d’apprentissage des langues dans les établissements d’enseignement supérieur. Il s’agit en effet ici de comprendre comment des adultes professionnels engagés dans la formation dessinent leurs trajectoires d’apprentissage de l’anglais dans des environnements multiples, porteurs de contraintes et d’affordances, dans et en dehors de l’environnement institutionnel. Plus précisément, nous avons exploré si, pourquoi et comment les adultes professionnels apprennent l’anglais dans le dispositif d’apprentissage ouvert sur leur écologie personnelle proposé au Cnam (Conservatoire national des arts et métiers). Sous l’angle de la dynamique interactionnelle et du concept d’apprenance (Carré, 2005, 2020), nous avons identifié au niveau individuel (études de cas) et collectif, ce qui est susceptible de déclencher et de soutenir (ou non) la dynamique, ainsi que les effets de cette dynamique en termes de développement langagier et de dispositions apprenantes, dans le temps.Nous avons conduit une étude longitudinale et avons recueilli des données, qualitatives et quantitatives (questionnaires, entretiens semi-directifs, journaux de bord, récits d’apprentissage et entretiens d’accompagnement) pour les 11 apprenants, pendant la formation, puis six mois plus tard. Nous avons ensuite procédé à une analyse de contenu (Bardin, 2013).Les résultats mettent en lumière l’émergence de réseaux dynamiques d’interactions qui résultent de combinaisons et d’assemblages entre des environnements, des ressources, ainsi que des modalités d’apprentissage multiples, permis par le dispositif écologique. La dynamique interactionnelle se révèle être sous-tendue par la rencontre entre des facteurs endogènes, exogènes et énactifs qui participent potentiellement au développement de la L2 et des dispositions apprenantes, ainsi qu’à leur maintien dans le temps
État des lieux de la mise en place de l'accessibilité dans les studios de jeux vidéo français
No full textInternational audienceCette étude examine l'état de l'implémentation de l'accessibilité dans les studios de jeux vidéo français. Pour cela, un questionnaire a été envoyé à plus de 200 studios, obtenant 51 réponses. Parmi les studios interrogés, 35 ont déjà intégré l'accessibilité dans au moins un de leurs projets. Les principaux résultats de ce questionnaire indiquent que l'appartenance à un cluster de studios influence à la fois la mise en place de l'accessibilité et sa qualité. Il en va de même pour la réalisation de playtests visant à évaluer l'accessibilité. L'étude montre également que ni la durée du projet ni le nombre d'employé·es dans un studio n'ont d'influence significative sur l'implémentation de l'accessibilité ou sa qualité. Ces résultats suggèrent que le manque d'accessibilité n'est pas principalement lié à un manque de moyens. On cherchera donc à créer un outil afin d’accompagner au mieux les studios qui souhaitent intégrer de l’accessibilité dans leurs projets
