Purpose: Medicalization is understood as a process that occurs as a transformation of socialissues to individual and organic problems that require medical intervention. This research proposed to analyze the scientific literature on medicalization related to the context of mental health. Method: Articles search was carried out on Scielo and Pepsic databases, raging dates from 2000 to 2015, using the following descriptors: medicalization, mental health and psychiatric reform. The analysis of the data was envisaged by the analytical-institutional reference, assisting in the composition of two analytical lines. Results: In the first one, we sought to identify the understandings about medicalization, while discussing the differences between medicalization and medicamentalization. In the second line we seek to map the forces that permeate the process ofmedicalization, highlighting biomedical knowledge, biological psychiatry and pharmaceutical industry, social participation and attention models. Conclusion: We conclude that the concept of medicalization, in its different nuances, allows denaturalization movements of mental health practices, allowing to interrogate the relationships of established knowledge and power. On a new class of generalized difference sequence spaces of fractional order defined by modulus function

    No full text
Recently Baliarsingh and Dutta [11], [12] introduced the fractional difference operator Δα , defined by Δα(xk) = and defined new classes of generalized difference sequence spaces of fractional order X(Γ, Δα, u) where X = {ℓ∞, c, c0} . More recently, Kadak [21] studied strongly Cesàro and statistical difference sequence space of fractional order involving lacunary sequences using the fractional difference operator is is any fixed sequence of positive real or complex numbers. Following Baliarsingh and Dutta [11], [12] and Kadak [21], we introduce paranormed difference sequence spaces of fractional order involving lacunary sequence, θ and modulus function, f. We investigate topological structures of these spaces and examine various inclusion relations

Left and right generalized Drazin invertible operators and local spectral theory

    No full text
In this paper, we give some characterizations of the left and right generalized Drazin invertible bounded operators in Banach spaces by means of the single-valued extension property (SVEP). In particular, we show that a bounded operator is left (resp. right) generalized Drazin invertible if and only if admits a generalized Kato decomposition and has the SVEP at 0 (resp. it admits a generalized Kato decomposition and its adjoint has the SVEP at 0. In addition, we prove that both of the left and the right generalized Drazin operators are invariant under additive commuting finite rank perturbations. Furthermore, we investigate the transmission of some local spectral properties from a bounded linear operator, as the SVEP, Dunford property (C), and property (β), to its generalized Drazin invers

Zero-sum flow number of octagonal grid and generalized prism

    No full text
A zero-sum flow is an assignment of nonzero integers to the edges such that the sum of the values of all edges incident with each vertex is zero, and we call it a zero-sum k-flow if the absolute values of edges are less than k. We recall the zero-sum flow number of G as the least integer k for which G admitting a zero sum k-flow. In this paper we gave complete zero-sum flow and zero sum numbers for Octagonal Grid and Generalized Prism

Classification of Osborn loops of order 4n

    No full text
The smallest non-associative Osborn loop is of order 16. Attempts in the past to construct higher orders have been very difficult. In this paper, some examples of finite Osborn loops of order 4n, n = 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 16 and 18 were presented. The orders of certain elements of the examples were considered. The nuclei of two of the examples were also obtained and these were used to establish the classification of these Osborn loops up to isomorphism. Moreover, the central properties of these examples were examined and were all found to be having a trivial center and no non-trivial normal subloop. Therefore, these examples of Osborn loops are simple Osborn loops

Asymptotic properties of solutions to third order neutral differential equations with delay

    No full text
This paper concerns the asymptotic properties of solutions of a class of third-order neutral differential equations with delay. We give sufficient conditions for every solution to be converges to zero, bounded and square integrable. An example is also given to illustrate the results

On the (M,D) number of a graph

    No full text
For a connected graph G = (V, E), a monophonic set of G is a set M ⊆ V (G) such that every vertex of G is contained in a monophonic path joining some pair of vertices in M. A subset D of vertices in G is called dominating set if every vertex not in D has at least one neighbour in D. A monophonic dominating set M is both a monophonic and a dominating set. The monophonic, dominating, monophonic domination number m(G), γ(G), γm(G) respectively are the minimum cardinality of the respective sets in G. Monophonic domination number of certain classes of graphs are determined. Connected graph of order p with monophonic domination number p− 1 or p is characterised. It is shown that for every two intigers a, b ≥ 2 with 2 ≤ a ≤ b, there is a connected graph G such that γm(G) = a and γg(G) = b, where γg(G) is the geodetic domination number of a graph

    No full text
In this paper, we investigate the limit points set of essential spectrum of upper triangular operator matrices We prove that accσe(MC) ∪ W = accσe(A) ∪ accσe(B) where W is the union of certain holes in accσe(MC), which happen to be subsets of accσe(B) ∩ accσe(A). Also, several sufficient conditions for accσe(MC) = accσe(A) ∪ accσe(B) holds are given
