The main objective of this study was to analyze the effect of animated and classical video education on improving knowledge in school-age children. Using a quantitative approach, this study utilized a 2-group pre-test post-test quasi-experimental research design, which included a sample size of 42 respondents selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and then analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The results showed that Asymp Sig2 -tailed was 0.000 so it was <0.05, so the hypothesis was accepted, because the p-value was less than 0.05, there was a significant difference between knowledge before and after the treatment of health education interventions using animated videos and classical. After intervention using animated videos in the intervention group as many as 20 respondents (87%) and classical 4 respondents (21.1%). The study confirms the effectiveness of both methods, with animated videos proving significantly more impactful in enhancing nutritional knowledge. Statistical tests confirmed the efficacy of this intervention, paving the way for future educational strategies to combat nutrition problems among children. The results of this study support the integration of media-based health education into the school curriculum. Incorporating animated videos and classical methods in health education programs

The COVID-19 pandemic caused significant changes in medical students' lives and study methods, with online learning replacing in-person classes and limited opportunities for clinical practice. However, there are few studies about burnout and fear of COVID-19 among medical students, especially in East Asia, and a need for research investigating the impact of gender, a history of COVID-19 infection, and social support. In March 2022, we conducted a cross-sectional web-based survey of 4th/5th year medical students who completed a clinical clerkship in Japan. Our survey included the Japan Burnout Scale (JBS, range 5-85, comprising of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment), fear of COVID-19 scale (range, 1-4), gender, school year, COVID-19 history, household composition, online education use, and financial burden. There were 343 respondents and 42.4% were women. Multivariable adjusted linear regression analyses showed that students with a COVID-19 infection history had significantly higher overall burnout, depersonalization, reduced personal accomplishment, and lower fear of COVID-19. Students with low social support (living alone and greater financial burden) had higher overall burnout, emotional exhaustion, and depersonalization. Gender had no significant effect on burnout (mean JBS among women was 38.6 versus 39.3 among men). Gender significantly predicted fear of COVID-19, with women scoring higher (1.60 versus 1.50). The findings of the present study have implications that medical schools should provide pastoral care for their students according to students’ circumstances, especially those who live alone, have a high financial burden, and/or were infected with COVID-19

    Get PDF
This study aimed to investigate the impact of Advertising Campaigns and Positive Close Relatives on exclusive breastfeeding practices among mothers in the postpartum period. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 66 mothers with infants aged 6-11 months in the Rasanae Timur Primary Health Care area in Kota Bima, NTB. Data were collected through structured interviews. Bivariate and multivariate analyses were employed to assess the associations between independent variables (Advertising Campaign, Positive Close Relatives) and the dependent variable (exclusive breastfeeding). The study found significant associations between exclusive breastfeeding and Advertising Campaigns, as well as Positive Close Relatives. Mothers exposed to Advertising Campaigns were more likely to opt for formula feeding over exclusive breastfeeding. Conversely, positive Positive Close Relatives, including encouragement and practical assistance, correlated with higher rates of exclusive breastfeeding. However, Maternal Occupation did not demonstrate a significant impact on exclusive breastfeeding practices. These findings underscore the critical role of both external influences, such as Advertising Campaign, and internal familial support in shaping maternal infant feeding decisions

    Get PDF
The COVID-19 pandemic has markedly impacted mental health worldwide, with social isolation being a significant factor contributing to increased anxiety and depression. This research explores the psychological effects of prolonged social isolation during and after the pandemic. The study aims to assess the prevalence of anxiety and depression, identify associated risk factors, and propose effective interventions. The hypothesis posits that increased social isolation correlates with heightened levels of anxiety and depression. The population for this study includes adults aged 18-65 from both urban and rural areas. 500 participants were selected using stratified random sampling to ensure a diverse demographic representation. This cross-sectional study adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. Data collection tools include the Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7) scale and the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), along with semi-structured interview guides. Quantitative data were analyzed using statistical techniques such as regression analysis, while qualitative data were undergone thematic analysis. The results offer insights into the mental health challenges posed by social isolation and suggest evidence-based solutions to mitigate these effects

    Get PDF
Premarital sexual behavior in adolescents tends to increase. This is caused by several factors, one of which is low knowledge about sexual behavior. Knowledge in adolescents is one of the duties of parents. Therefore, communication between parents and adolescents is important. This study aims to determine the relationship between parental communication and knowledge about sexual behavior in adolescents. The research method used is a descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study is adolescents aged 12-15 years living at home with their parents. The number of samples was 114 The research instrument used a knowledge questionnaire and FARBCS. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis with bivariate analysis using the Spearman rank test. The results showed that 51.8% of the 114 respondents had adequate knowledge and 88.6% of respondents had open communication. The results of the correlation test showed a p-value of 0.884. The conclusion from this study is that there is no relationship between parental communication and knowledge about sexual behavior in adolescents. It is hoped that future researchers will examine the factors that influence knowledge about sexual behavior

    Get PDF
Infection prevention and control (IPC) is essential in reducing healthcare-associated infections, particularly in maternal and newborn care. Midwives play a critical role in ensuring adherence to IPC protocols in primary healthcare settings. This study aims to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of midwives toward IPC in selected primary health care centers in Osogbo Local Government, Osun State, Nigeria. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 52 midwives using a structured questionnaire to assess their knowledge and attitudes on IPC. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, with results presented as frequencies and percentages. The study found high IPC knowledge among midwives, with 96.2% classified as having good knowledge. Most participants demonstrated a strong understanding of key practices, such as hand hygiene, PPE use, and waste disposal. For example, 98.1% correctly identified the proper order for donning PPE, and all understood its primary purpose. However, 84.6% were aware of the recommended frequency for disinfecting high-touch surfaces, highlighting a gap in daily IPC practices. Midwives showed a positive attitude, with 88.5% agreeing that IPC guidelines reduce infection rates. Despite this, 9.6% felt resources were inadequate, and 84.6% called for more IPC training. The study shows strong IPC knowledge and positive attitudes among midwives, though gaps in resources and daily practices exist. Continuous training, better resource allocation, and fostering accountability are recommended to maintain high IPC standards. Targeted interventions should address these gaps and support midwives in effective IPC implementation
