Performance Comparison of IEEE 802.11p, 802.11bd-draft and a Unique-Word-based PHY in Doubly-Dispersive Channels

    No full text
International audienceIn this paper, we evaluate and make a comparison of the channel estimation performance for three different frame structures of IEEE 802.11p, IEEE 802.11bd-draft and a unique-word (UW)-based physical layer (PHY). As in vehicle-toeverything communication the wireless channel conditions may vary significantly depending on the environment and vehicle velocity, severe fading in both time and frequency domains may occur. Through simulation results, we show that the UWbased PHY achieves an interference-free performance of channel estimation via a low complexity technique, whereas the 802.11bd would need to employ a high complexity approach in order to achieve a comparable estimation performance

Exciton Cooling in 2D Perovskite Nanoplatelets: Rationalized Carrier-Induced Stark and Phonon Bottleneck Effects

    No full text
International audienceUsing femtosecond transient absorption (fs-TA), we investigate the hot exciton relaxation dynamics in strongly confined lead iodide perovskite nanoplatelets (NPLs). The large quantum and dielectric confinement leads to discrete excitonic transitions and strong Stark features in the TA spectra. This prevents the use of conventional relaxation analysis methods extracting the carrier temperature or measuring the buildup of the band-edge bleaching. Instead, we show that the TA spectral line shape near the band-edge reflects the state of the system, which can be used to probe the exciton cooling dynamics. The ultrafast hot exciton relaxation in one- to three- monolayer-thick NPLs confirms the absence of intrinsic phonon bottleneck. However, excitation fluence-dependent measurements reveal a hot phonon bottleneck effect, which is found to be independent of the nature of the internal cations but strongly affected by the ligands and/or sample surface state. Together, these results suggest a role of the surface ligands in the cooling process

    No full text

    Markovian Repeated Interaction Quantum Systems

    No full text
International audienceWe study a class of dynamical semigroups that emerge, by a Feynman-Kac type formalism, from a random quantum dynamical system driven by a Markov chain. We show that the almost sure large time behavior of the system can be extracted from the large time asymptotics of the semigroup, which is in turn directly related to the spectral properties of its generator L. As a physical application, we consider the case where the quantum dynamical system describes the repeated interactions of a system S with thermal probes. We study the full statistics of the entropy in this system and derive a fluctuation theorem for the heat exchanges and the associated linear response formulas

    No full text
International audienceThis article examines school practices that link reading and writing through the use of excerpts. More specifically, it seeks to show how the use of excerpts allows us to approach a literary genre.
