How can we navigate this paradox? How can we approach writing and communication differently? Based on a critical and situated use of communication accessibility techniques, FALC (plain language) crip remixes attempt to invalidate texts on ableism, to forge new access points in texts on accessibility, and to overcome the norms of mental and intellectual functioning that hinder the thinking behind these norms. Escaping toward a vanishing point, the remixes conceive of writing as repetition, publication as reprise, speech as haunting. They attempt to ritualize another way of entering the text and scientific spaces of knowledge, outside the walls, outside the one-way meaning of authorized reason: like a nonsense that spreads from one to another, like a matryoshka of ideas, like a ball of accessibility.Les textes sur l'accessibilité sont souvent inaccessibles.Les textes critiques des normes des institutions sont souvent écrits depuis le langage de ces institutions. Comment naviguer ces paradoxes ? Comment entrer autrement dans l'écriture et la communication ? À partir d'un usage critique et situé des techniques d'accessibilité de la communication, les remix crip FALC tentent de dévalider les textes sur le validisme, de se frayer de nouveaux accès dans les textes sur l'accessibilité, de surmonter les normes de bon fonctionnement psychique et intellectuel qui entravent la pensée de ces normes. Les remix conçoivent l'écriture comme répétition, la publication comme reprise, la parole comme hantise. Ils tentent de ritualiser une autre façon d'entrer dans le texte et dans les espaces de savoir scientifiques, hors les murs, en dehors du sens unique de la raison autorisée : comme un non-sens de proche en proche, comme une matriochka d'idées, comme un bal d'accessibilité
Does Tax-Benefit Linkage Matter for the Incidence of Payroll Taxes?
No full textInternational audienceWe analyze earnings responses to six large payroll tax and income tax reforms in France. Our findings indicate full pass-through to workers when there is a strong and transparent link between contributions and expected benefits. In contrast, employer payroll taxes with no tax-benefit linkage exhibit limited pass-through to workers, while income tax nominally borne by employees show nearly full passthrough. Together with a meta-analysis of the literature, we interpret these results as empirical support for the long-standing hypothesis that tax-benefit linkage matters for the incidence of payroll taxes. In the absence of such linkage, our findings suggest that the individual-level incidence of payroll taxes aligns with their statutory incidence

No full textSylvain Lévi, né en 1863 dans une famille de commerçants juifs, est l'indianiste français le plus important entre 1894, date de son élection au Collège de France dans une chaire de "langue et littérature sanskrites", jusqu'à sa mort en 1935. Élu président de l'Alliance israélite universelle, en 1920, il y défend la place des Juifs dans le monde contemporain selon les valeurs d'égalité et de liberté de la Révolution française. Petit-cousin de Max Jacob, Sylvain Lévi a été une autorité morale et intellectuelle pour celui-ci qui le rappelle encore en 1943

Heterogeneous peer effects and gender-based interventions for teenage obesity
No full textInternational audienceThis paper explores the role of gender heterogeneity in the social diffusion of obesity among adolescents and its policy implications. We propose a social interaction model which allows for gender-dependent heterogeneity in peer effects. Our empirical approach is consistent with the best response functions of a non-cooperative model where social interactions stem from the channel of pure spillover or pure conformity. We estimate the model using data on adolescent Body Mass Index and network-based interactions. Our approach allows us to account for network endogeneity. Our results show that peer effects are gender-dependent, and male students are particularly responsive to the weight of their female friends. According to simulations, reaching out to women results in an 8% increase in effectiveness in reducing overall BMI, based on the most conservative scenario. Thus, female-tailored interventions are likely to be more effective than a gender-neutral approach to fighting obesity in schools
Pricing intermittent renewable energy
No full textNational audienceThe energy transition requires significant investment in intermittent renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power. New generation capacities are generally procured through fixed price contracts, such as power purchase agreements and contracts for difference, or feed-in tariffs. With these designs, renewable technologies are selected based on their generation, regardless of their adequacy with demand and supply by other technologies. We show that fixed-price contracts implement the optimal portfolio of renewable technologies if the price is adjusted with a technology-specific bonus-malus system that depends on the correlation between renewable energy production and the wholesale electricity price. We estimate the bonus-malus for solar and wind power in California, France, Germany, and Spain and decompose it to identify the key market factors driving the adjustment. We argue that the bonus-malus measures the cost of integrating intermittent generation into the energy mix. Therefore, it should be added to the levelized cost of energy (LCOE) to obtain the cost of generating an additional megawatt-hour with a specific renewable technology

No full textLe comité de rédaction de L’Année du Maghreb est heureux de souffler les 20 bougies de la revue avec un dossier spécial qui propose de faire le point, de manière chorale et sans parti-pris, sur la manière dont les membres du monde académique travaillent, comment ils enseignent, mènent et publient leurs recherches. Ce numéro se veut à la fois rétrospectif et programmatique sur les transformations d’une revue, d’un espace éditorial, d’un métier, d’une façon de faire de la science et, in fine, de penser une aire géographique.Ainsi, la première partie est consacrée aux petites et grandes histoires de la revue et offre un retour réflexif sur la re-naissance de L’Année du Maghreb tout en questionnant les évolutions du travail éditorial. En adoptant une forme libre et audacieuse, nous proposons dans un deuxième temps de retracer tout ou partie des débats théoriques et méthodologiques qui traversent les dynamiques de la recherche au Maghreb depuis 20 ans. La troisième partie, elle, aborde les enjeux de restitution et la médiation du travail des chercheur·e·s et rend compte d’autres façons de témoigner ou d’écrire la recherche.Bonne lecture et bon anniversaire

No full textInternational audienceLa découverte en 1985-1987, dans les thermes suburbains de Pompéi, de fresques représentant deux scénes de cunnilingus, l'un hétérosexuel, l'autre homosexuel, implique-t-elle de revoir la position exprimée par la plupart des historiens sur ce sujet? En effet, privilégiant les sources littéraires, ces historiens ont très majoritairement affirmé que le cunnilingus était l'objet d'une profonde répulsion et ses amateurs d'une condamantion morale quasi générale. Comment comprendre alors la présence de deux scènes de cunnilingus dans un établissement ouvert aux femmes comme aux hommes, et qui n'avait pas été conçu comme un lieu de prostitution
