The role of non-verbal communication in the business environment on the example of Japan
Neverbalna komunikacija razvija povjerenje, dobar odnos i olakšava transparentnost. Communication is a two-way process. The main elements that make up the communication process include message, channel, receiver and feedback. It is not an easy task to "decipher" what a person is actually saying or feeling at the present moment. The communication process refers to the combination of what you hear and see in the current situation, on the basis of which you draw a conclusion. Non-verbal communication develops trust, good relationship and facilitates transparency. Wrong body language creates suspicion, tension and confusion leading to conflict. Non-verbal communication has always fascinated human beings. Non-verbal communication is ubiquitous and influential, but in many ways ineffable. Most of the time, it is difficult to describe and study. Non-verbal communication is often difficult to be aware of in everyday life, and sometimes we only become aware when it goes wrong. Yet people have an extensive and deeply shared implicit understanding of nonverbal communication. If this were not the case, everyday life would be chaotic. Communication is therefore, in a broader sense, the exchange of information, the process of giving, transmitting and receiving information. Individuals form key impressions and inferences about other people based on nonverbal behavior. Non-verbal communication has the function of supplementing the verbal part, replacing the verbal action and repeating what was said. Every facial expression contributes to the overall meaning of what we say. The preciousness of culture and rich tradition are precisely what highlight Japanese culture, and even today it is the embodiment of the division into classes determined by origin and social status. An important role in raising children is played by the family, which traditionally transmits kindness in behavior from generation to generation. Japan differs from most countries in the world in terms of non-verbal communication, where these differences are most pronounced in private and business environments. This paper will present in more detail the most common forms of non-verbal communication and how it is applied in the business environment of Japan
The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on business etiquette
Samim time mijenja se i poslovni bonton svake tvrtke. S novonastalom situacijom dolaze i nova pravila ponašanja. Uz mjere distance svakako dolazi do problema s komunikacijom. Vođenje razgovora uživo i uz mjeru nošenja zaštitnih maski otežava komunikaciju i razumijevanje prenesene poruke. Barem je to neka razina bliskosti i povezivanja s ljudima, no neovisno o tome i bez toga možemo drugima pokazati empatiju i poštovanje. Given the situation with the Covid-19 virus, which has spread throughout the world and is changing the daily lives of all of us, so are the changes in the business. Companies are forced to adapt to the new situation. As a result, the business etiquette of each company changes. With the new situation comes new rules of conduct. Online platforms have largely replaced classic communication. The only drawback of the online world is the inability to monitor non-verbal communication which makes communication and information exchange difficult in general as well as in the business world. Information is transmitted, but the transmission of emotions is difficult which is the biggest problem. The positive thing is the video calls through which business meetings can be held without cancellation. There is no risk of infection, and a conversation will be held that would be held live. With distance measures, there are certainly problems with communication. Having a live conversation and wearing protective masks makes it difficult to communicate and understand the message being conveyed. Physical contact such as extending a hand, kissing close business partners, or holding on to a coat that shows kindness and respect to a person is fading a bit. At least it is a level of closeness and connection with people, but regardless of that, we can still show empathy and respect to others. The advantage is that we live in a time when technology is advancing rapidly and we are all more or less familiar with computers and various applications. Email chats existed before the virus only now it is more frequent and used for all occasions. The measures prescribed must be respected, even though the classic etiquette is changing. Regardless of the different ways of doing business, people quickly get used to everything, including distance and the online world
The price as a indicator of quality and prestige
With technological advances and globalization, marketing activities are becoming crucial. Customers can choose every day which products or services to buy because they are at their fingertips. In order for a company to retain its customers it is necessary to take care of them. It is necessary to monitor their wishes and needs, because ultimately only by continuously selling their products or services can a company perform its business in the long run. Due to the importance of customers, it is necessary to know their characteristics and manage satisfaction. Their satisfaction can be a guarantee for their loyalty and successful and safer business. On the other hand, the company influences its strategies, goals and policies and prices, quality, satisfaction and can be considered as an indicator of business success in the long run. The issue of price is changeable like all other elements of the marketing mix and requires constant monitoring of the market, purchasing power, prices, consumer needs and the general climate in the industry in which the company operates. Price can serve as an indicator of quality and prestige
The role of influencers in modern media and marketing communication
Influencers are people who attract users with their appearance, clothing, knowledge and skills; followers, and the more they have, the more popular they become, not only to other users, but also to the advertisers who advertise through them. Over the years through the evolution of influencer marketing, types of influencers and their specific roles have become an integral part of the modern way of advertising. After celebrities and corporate ambassadors, macro influencers and micro-influencers from interest communities emerged. The main challenge for marketers was to define the role and identify the right type of influencer in line with the brand’s goals. From a definition based primarily on the scope of the network and the social capital of influencers (with celebrities and new social media stars), marketers are gradually integrating content and commitment to these ways of advertising. Influencer marketing (also influence marketing) is a type of marketing in which the focus is on people who have an impact in a particular market, instead of focusing on the target market as a whole. He identifies individuals who have an impact on potential customers, and directs all marketing activities around those people who are popularly referred to as influencers as explained in this final paper. The success of any influential marketing campaign does not only depend on the number of followers but there are a number of prerequisites. Many influencers buy fake followers, so their engagement rate is low. In contrast, micro-influencers have fewer followers, but work to maintain personal connections with their audiences. Therefore, their posts get more engagement. As more companies realize the importance of working with influencers, they are looking for new ways to work with them. At the same time, they realize that creating long-term associations with influencers is key to better marketing

Public relations and top management in culture
Cultural management has evolved and upgraded throughout history, from antique to the Renaissance, however the main difference compared to modern times is the complexity given the extensive range of content on offer today. In its beginnings, management was based on reservations of performances and organization. Today’s publics need to be carefully studied, and to gain a target audience, managers, public relations experts, and marketing experts go through analyzes and complex processes and thus create a strategic plan. Tourism, and then cultural tourism, significantly influenced the development of public relations in Croatia by encouraging hotels to hire employees whose task was to maintain the loyalty of visitors. Over time, the needs of tourists have changed, so today's tourist on the Croatian coast wants to be informed about Croatian culture, which has led to the development of cultural tourism. It is necessary to emphasize the connection with psychology whose importance was established by the pioneer of public relations Edward Bernays. Problems of poor representation of culture in Croatian education system and the media, insufficient investment in culture by the state and its elitism, frequent merging of marketing and PR departments in cultural institutions that lead to difficult commitment to the requirements of both professions, the phenomenon of ‘’cancel culture’’ which is part of popular culture, creating the image of cultural institutions, stars from the world of show business - these are the challenges faced by public relations experts and managers. The aim is to point out how the cohesion of public relations, top management adapted to culture and promotional tools can eliminate these problems, reduce the animosity of cultural workers towards commercialization, to know the difference between public relations and marketing and point out the great potential of cultural products. A top cultural manager and public relations expert must understand its delicacy and know how to create harmony and adapt the approach according to the content it offers, which includes an educational, entertainment and spiritual aspect
Symbolism and non-verbal communication of folk costumes
Folk costume is a traditional way of dressing the rural population. Through it, the rural population expressed their artistic and textile skills and met their clothing needs. It used to be made of natural materials in handicrafts, and with the strengthening of purchasing power and industrialization, the rural population began to use purchased materials in its production. Thanks to resisting fashion trends, folk costumes have largely retained their original shape. It was worn in our region until the Second World War, and in some parts it is still worn today and represents a living tradition. Many of the techniques of making parts and decorations of folk costumes are protected and entered in the register of intangible cultural heritage of the Republic of Croatia - Pag, Lepoglava and Svetomarska lace, Hvar agave lace, making lace in Primosten and Rogoznica, gold embroidery, Baranja shocking embroidery, Ivanec embroidery, Konavle embroidery, the technique of decorating with pukanica from Čuntić, making svetonedjeljskog i bistranjskog kraluža (jewelry), the art of knitting women's headbands, making traditional women's hairstyles from Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem are just some of them. Today, the national costume is a national symbol of every nation and is an indispensable part of its culture. It is part of its cultural heritage as well as cultural heritage. The aim of this paper is to explain the elements of culture that influenced the creation of folk costumes and the way in which some of the symbols can be read and thus explain the issue of how folk costumes nonverbally communicate with other members of society
