Draft reports of this (i.e. Vol. II) and previously published reports (Vol. I) on the same are also available in the IKR.Verité Research developed the methodology for this assessment in 2017 with the support of the World Bank and assessed the compliance of 55 public authorities with their online proactive disclosure requirements under the RTI Act. The same methodology was adopted in relation to the 29 cabinet ministries and the Offices of the President and Prime Minister as of July 2022, for the period 01 December 2022 to 31 December 2022.
The methodology for the study was based on the legal requirements for proactive disclosure set out under sections 8 and 9 of the RTI Act, and Regulation No. 20 under the Act. This executive summary provides a snapshot of the findings of the report

Gender-based budgeting or Gender-Responsive Budgeting (GRB) makes sense, from a social justice perspective and a sustainable growth perspective. However, given the government’s track record with GRB, those of us looking for more than a token reference are likely to be disappointed. However, GRB needs to be on the government’s agenda for 2024, and the government now needs to go beyond paying lip service to GRB
International Day of Democracy 2023

One way this is checked is through elections, as public participation in such processes is essential to bolstering democracy. Considering this, VR's Manthri Team analysed the history of voting in Sri Lankan national elections held from 1978 up until the 2020 presidential election. Findings showed that since 1982, 3 out of 10 voters were absent or had cast invalid votes.
