The article on Daily Mirror even included an infographic.
The reportage in Silumina and Ada included a helpline in one instance. Also, in an interview published on 05 March 2023, Silumina reported attempting to suicide as a criminal act, but is incorrect as it is no longer an offence under Sri Lankan law
Why Tracking the IMF Programme Implementation is of Public Interest

Will the country break from the past patterns of inconsistency and failure in following the plan it lays out with the IMF, or will those patterns be repeated? In this instance, what is required is not to lay the groundwork for another IMF programme in the future, but to develop the ability to sustainably recover from the present debt-driven economic crisis. Sri Lanka successfully completed only 9 out of the 16 previous programmes it undertook. In the last two decades alone, the nation was in three IMF programmes spanning 12 years. These programmes had clear commitments and key macroeconomic targets, but Sri Lanka achieved its revenue, primary, and budget balance targets in only two out of those 12 years. In the past, there has not been public tracking of the implementation of IMF programmes. The success or failure in the achievement of targets was revealed only through six monthly reviews by the IMF, and even then, it was hardly subject to public discussion. This lack of public interest in the implementation of an IMF programme-based economic plan has left room for short-term decision making. Governments made decisions, especially in election years, to prioritise short-term measures that helped gain votes over the longer-term public interest of adhering to the economic plan. In April, Verité Research launched a public platform known as ‘The IMF Tracker’, which tracks 100 identified commitments from Sri Lanka’s Letter of Intent sent to the IMF. This platform helps improve public understanding, interest and engagement in the longer-term economic recovery plan as it has been currently developed (warts and all). It can then also help the Sri Lankan public understand the government’s current plan and hold it accountable to implementing appropriate actions that lead to longer term economic success

The data is collected through a telephone interview and a nationwide randomised sample of around one thousand people is taken into consideration. The Mood of the Nation poll is conducted periodically by Verité Research and is based on an island wide nationally representative sample of responses. The sample and methodology are designed to limit the maximum error margin to under 3% at a 95% confidence interval, which meets the gold standard of surveys. The poll is based on an island wide nationally representative sample of responses from 1,000 plus Sri Lankan adults. The poll is conducted as a part of the syndicated survey instrument by Verité Research and the polling partner was Vanguard Survey (Pvt) Ltd. This instrument also provides other organisations the opportunity to survey the sentiments of Sri Lanka

The accusation levelled against Edirisooriya was that she insulted Buddhism during a comedy show at which she was performing. A majority of the channels framed their headlines in a manner which showed that the accusations indicate that the alleged offence was committed. These channels were Rupavahini, ITN, Hiru, Swarnawahini, TV Derana and Siyatha. However, Sirasa's headline showed that she had been taken into custody on the suspicion that she was a wrongdoer pertaining to the alleged charge.
On 29 May 2023, Sinhala and English newspapers reported on the arrest of Nathasha Edirisooriya. Ada, Divaina, Dinamina, Aruna, Lankadeepa, Mawbima published headlines which implied that the accusations indicated that the alleged offence was committed. The English language newspaper Daily News also used a similar framing. However, Daily Mirror and The Island did not use such a frame.
On 30 May 2023, the Aruna editorial spoken about Nathasha Edirisooriya in a discriminatory manner. It even implied, without any basis, that one of the reasons for Edirisooriya's behaviour could be the Histrionic Personality Disorder that she apparently has

Sri Lanka fell short on two commitments that were expected to be fulfilled by April 2023. The first of these is related to the increase in betting and gaming levies. The amendment to increase the levies were made public on April 4, 2023. However, the amendment has yet to be debated in parliament, indicating a delay in the process. The second failed commitment pertains to gaining parliamentary approval on the central bank bill. Like the betting and gaming amendment bill, this bill was also made public on March 7, 2023 but is yet to be debated and approved by parliament
