This kind of reporting contributes to the stigma against former LTTE members who are being rehabilitated and living peaceful lives. In contrast, other newspapers such as Ada, Mawbima, and Dinamina described the former LTTE member as a suspect or a fisherman without using discriminatory terms

During the 8 parliament sittings, 77 written questions were asked but only 40 questions were answered. There was one motion at the adjournment time. 12 announcements were made by the Speaker during the 8 parliament sittings. The number of Bills and Regulations were 4 and 6 respectively. Under Private Member's Bills, there was 1 Incorporation Bill whereas no Bill for the public interest.     This entry has one write-up and one infographic (both in Sinhala).The buddhist clergyman Ajaan Brahamvansoo had to remain for 12 hours due to his flight getting grounded at the Bandaranayake International Airport. On 04 June, Swaranawahini and on 05 June Sirasa broadcast footage during their news bulletins covering the views shared by the monk while he had been grounded at the airport. However, it was observed that the footage shown by the two channels were different. After careful analysis, it was ascertained that the clip shown by Sirasa was accurate. But the video shown by Swarnawahini was of a speech given by the monk much earlier, on 20 May 2023, which had been broadcast by the Western Australia Buddhist Association

    This infographic was posted on the Public Finance Platform in English.In the Central Bank's Annual Report for 2022, the government's revenues witnessed a notable surge of 38%, soaring from Rs 1,484 billion to Rs 2,013 billion. A closer examination of the revenue breakdown reveals that a substantial portion of this growth stems from increments in Value Added Tax (VAT), Personal Income Tax and Corporate Tax, which experienced respective increments of Rs 155 billion and Rs 212 billion. Improving fiscal consolidation will be of paramount importance as Sri Lanka advances in its IMF program
