In 2022, Verité Research assessed government compliance with the RTI Act's proactive disclosure provisions for 60 large-scale infrastructure projects valued at Rs. 1.08 trillion, implemented between 2019 and 2021. In 2023, Verité Research assessed government compliance with the RTI Act's proactive disclosure provisions for 60 large-scale infrastructure projects valued at Rs. 2.54 trillion, implemented between 2019 and 2022. Despite the Right to Information (RTI) Act’s proactive disclosure requirement, only 18% and 25% of information required to be disclosed on large-scale infrastructure projects were proactively disclosed online in 2022 and 2023 respectively. The information, when available online, was mostly available in English – even though the RTI Act mandates disclosure in Sinhala and Tamil, with English required only if feasible. In 2022, 18% of the information was available in English, but only 5% in Sinhala and 4% in Tamil. This trend continued in 2023, where 25% was available in English, with only 8% in Sinhala and 8% in Tamil

    This entry has 3 infographics and 3 write-ups (all in Sinhala).On 27 June 2023 Sinhala TV news channels reported on the President's statement about the domestic debt restructuring process. Rupavahini, Sirasa, Derana and Swarnawahini highlighted on the debt restructuring process will not harm the banking system and public funds. ITN stated that the president had stated on how debt would be restructured during the next five years. Siyatha stated that the parliamentary debate on this would be happening, while Hiru news did not report on this at all.  On 26 July 2023, there was coverage about the protest at Manning market. The headlines of the various news channels focused on different aspects of the story. ITN, Rupavahini and Derana headlines stated that the reason for the arrest of protesters was because they had violated a court order. Sirasa, Hiru and Siyatha focused only on the arrest of the protesting sellers. Swarnawahini mentioned that those arrested had been granted bail.  On July 27, 2023, TV Sinhala main news broadcasts covered the President's All-Party Conference to discuss the 13th Constitutional Amendment and Reconciliation. Rupavahini stated that participants who were sceptical about the summit were able to discard their suspicion after it was over. ITN and Swarnawahini stated that the president had said it was important for political parties to do their part towards reconciliation, while he too worked towards it. Derana stated that the conference ended without a consensus, with certain political parties requesting for provincial council elections. Siyatha stated that the conference was unsuccessful, while Hiru stated that during the conversations for reconciliation the need for provincial council elections had emerged
