    ## **Abstract** \n\nThe dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.\n\n\n\nThis metadata contains data for two models: AWRA-L and AWRA-R. In the Macquarie-Tuggerah-Lake (MTL) coastal subregion, only AWRA-L modelling was conducted; in the Hunter subregion both modelling were conducted and AWRA-L flow outputs provided as model inputs for AWRA-R.\n\n\n\nAWRA-L\n\n\n\nThe metadata within the dataset contains the workflow, processes, inputs and outputs data. The workflow pptx file under the top folder provides the top level summary of the modelling framework, including three slides. The first slide explains how to generate global definition file; the second slide outlines the calibration and simulation for AWRA-L model run; the third slide shows AWRA-L model post-processing for getting streamflow under baseline and coal mine resources development. \n\n\n\nThe exectable model framework is under the Application subfolder\n\nOther subfolders, including model calibration, model simulation, post processing, contain the associated files used for model calibration, simulation and post processing, respectively. \n\n\n\nDocumentation about the implementation of AWRA-L in the Hunter bioregion is provided in BA HUN 2.6.1.3 and 2.6.1.4 products.\n\n\n\nAWRA-R\n\n\n\nThe metadata within the dataset contains the workflow, processes, input and output data and instructions to implement the Hunter AWRA-R model for model calibration or simulation. \n\n\n\nEach sub-folder in the associated data has a readme file indicating folder contents and providing general instructions about the workflow performed. \n\n\n\nDetailed documentation of the AWRA-R model, is provided in: https://publications.csiro.au/rpr/download?pid=csiro:EP154523&dsid=DS2\n\n\n\nDocumentation about the implementation of AWRA-R in the Hunter bioregion is provided in BA HUN 2.6.1.3 and 2.6.1.4 products.\n\n## **Purpose** \n\nBA surface water modelling in the Hunter bioregion\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nThere are two sections, the first section describing AWRA-L, the second section describing AWRA-R.\n\n\n\nSection 1 - AWRA-L\n\n\n\nThe directories within contain the input and output data of the Hunter AWRA-L model for model calibration, simulation and post-processing. \n\n\n\nThe calibration folder contains the input and output subfolders used for two model calibration schemes: lowflow and normal. The lowflow model calibration puts more weight on median and low streamflow; the normal model calibration puts more weight on high streamflow. \n\n\n\nThe simulation folder contains only one replicate of model input and output as an example.\n\n\n\nThe post-processing folder contains three subfolders: inputs, outputs and scripts used for generating streamflow under the baseline and coal mine resources development conditions. It contains the post-processing for the two subregions (MTL and HUN). In the MTL coastal subregion, the AWRA-L postprocessing results were final outputs, while in the HUN subregion AWRA-L flow outputs were model inputs for AWRA-R (Details below). \n\n\n\nInput and output files are the daily data covering the period of 1953 to 2102, with the first 30 years (1953-1982) for model spin-up.\n\n\n\nDocumentation about the implementation of AWRA-L in the Hunter bioregion is provided in BA HUN 2.6.1.3 and 2.6.1.4 products.\n\n\n\nData details are below\n\n\n\nModel calibrations \n\n1. ## **Abstract** \n\nThis dataset was supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and is presented here as originally supplied. The metadata was not provided by the data supplier and has been compiled by the programme based on known details.\n\n\n\nThe interconnections between groundwater and river systems remain poorly understood in many catchments throughout the world, and yet they are fundamental to effectively managing water resources. Groundwater extraction from aquifers that are connected to river systems will reduce river flows, and this has implications for riverine ecosystem health, water security, aesthetic and cultural values, as well as water allocation and water management policies more generally. The decline in river flows as a consequence of groundwater extractions has the potential to threaten river basin industries and communities reliant on water resources. In this thesis, (Ivkovic, Karen Marie-Jeanne (2006). Modelling groundwater-river interactions for assessing water allocation options, PhD Thesis, Australian National University. https://digitalcollections.anu.edu.au/handle/1885/49342. Doctor of Philosophy Thesis, Australian National University, Canberra, Australia), the connectivity between groundwater and river systems and the impact that groundwater extractions have on river flows were studied in one of Australia's most developed irrigation areas, the Namoi River catchment in New South Wales. Gauged river reaches in the Namoi River catchment were characterised according to three levels of information, using the available data up to 2003: 1) presence of hydraulic connection between aquifer-river systems; 2) dominant direction of aquifer-river flux; and 3) the potential for groundwater extraction to impact on river flows. The methods used to characterise the river reaches included the following analyses: 1) a comparison of groundwater and river channel base elevations using a GIS/Database; 2) stream hydrographs and the application of a baseflow separation filter; 3) flow duration curves and the percentage of time a river flows; 4) vertical aquifer connectivity from nested piezometer sites; and 5) paired stream and groundwater hydrographs.\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nGauged river reaches in the Namoi River catchment were characterised according to three levels of information, using the data record up to 2003: 1) presence of hydraulic connection between aquifer-river systems; 2) dominant direction of aquifer-river flux; and 3) the potential for groundwater extraction to impact on river flows. ## **Abstract** \n\n\n\n\n\nThe dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement. \n\n\n\nThe asset database for the Pedirka subregion (v3) supersedes previous version (v2) of the Pedirka Asset database (Asset database for the Arckaringa subregion on 07 August 2015, 3c976085-ff75-44c7-a3b1-9608f6a6a994). The M2_Reason in the Assetlist table and DecisionBrief in the AssetDecisions table have been updated with short descriptions (<255 characters) provided by project team 21/8, and the draft "water-dependent asset register and asset list" (BA-LEB-PED-130-WaterDependentAssetRegister-AssetList-V20150827) also updated accordingly. This change was made to avoid truncation in the brief reasons fields of the database and asset register. There have been no changes to assets or asset numbers.\n\n \n\nThis dataset contains a combination of spatial and non-spatial (attribute) components of the Pedirka subregion Asset List - an mdb file (readable as an MS Access database or as an ESRI personal geodatabase) holds the non-spatial tabular attribute data, and an ESRI file geodatabase contains the spatial data layers, which are attributed only with unique identifiers ("AID" for assets, and "ElementID" for elements). The dataset also contains an update of the draft "Water-dependent asset register and asset list" spreadsheet (BA-NIC-PED-130-WaterDependentAssetRegister-AssetList-V20150827.xlsx).\n\n\n\nThe tabular attribute data can be joined in a GIS to the "Assetlist" table in the mdb database using the "AID" field to view asset attributes (BA attribution). To view the more detailed attribution at the element-level, the intermediate table "Element_to_asset" can be joined to the assets spatial datasets using AID, and then joining the individual attribute tables from the Access database using the common "ElementID" fields. Alternatively, the spatial feature layers representing elements can be linked directly to the individual attribute tables in the Access database using "ElementID", but this arrangement will not provide the asset-level groupings.\n\n\n\nFurther information is provided in the accompanying document, "PED_asset_database_doc20150827.doc" located within this dataset.\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nVersionID\tDate\tNotes\n\n1.0\t13/03/2015\tInitial database\n\n\n\n1.1\t19/03/2015\tAdd SA point Eco data (2 assets and 28 Elements) and fixed Note field value in table AssetDecisions\n\n\n\n2\t7/08/2015\t"(1) Updated the database for M2 test results provided from PED assessment team and created the draft BA-LEB-PED-130-WaterDependentAssetRegister-AssetList-V20150807.xlsx \n\n(2) Updated the group, subgroup, class and depth for (up to) 67 NRM WAIT assets to cooperate the feedback to OWS from relevant SA NRM office (whose staff missed the asset workshop). The AIDs and names of those assets are listed in table LUT_changed_asset_class_20150807 in PED_asset_database_20150807.mdb\n\n(3) Appendix C in PED_asset_database_doc_201500807.doc is about total elements/assets in current Group and subgroup\n\n(4) Four SQL queries (Find_All_Used_Assets, Find_All_WD_Assets, Find_Amount_Asset_in_Class and Find_Amount_Elements_in_Class) in PED_asset_database_20150807.mdb can be used for total assets and total numbers\n\n(5)There are 1 asset (in PED subregion), which is same as 1 asset in MBC subregion. Its AID, Asset Name, Group, SubGroup, Depth, Source and ListDate is using values from MBC asset. This asset is listed in table LUT_DUP_PED_MBC in PED_asset_database_20150807.mdb\n\n(6)The databases, especially spatial database (PED_asset_database_20150807Only.gdb), were changed such as duplicated attribute fields in spatial data were removed and only ID field is kept. The user needs to join the Table Assetlist or Elementlist to the relevant spatial data."\n\n\n\n3. 27/08/2015 M2_Reason in the Assetlist table and DecisionBrief in the AssetDecisions table have been updated with short descriptions (<255 characters) provided by project team 21/8, and the draft "water-dependent asset register and asset list" (BA-LEB-PED-130-WaterDependentAssetRegister-AssetList-V20150827) also updated accordingly. ## **Abstract** \n\nThis dataset and its metadata statement were supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and are presented here as originally supplied. \n\n\n\nNSW Office of Water Groundwater Licence Extract Gloucester- Oct 2013\n\n\n\nA SHORT GUIDE TO NSW OFFICE OF WATER'S LICENSING DATA\n\n\n\nMethodology\n\n1.\tUsing the supplied bioregional assessment data capture polygons a spatial select was taken for each polygon area for the Surface and Groundwater Approved Work locations. These Work Location points were exported to an ArcGIS 10.0 File Geodatabase for each polygon area. These work locations have a "Status" of either "Active" (under the Water Act) or "Current" (under the Water Management Act). \n\n2. These spatial locations link to the licence volumes found in the \\*_WLS-EXTRACT_n.xls and the \\*_WLS-EXTRACT_n_WALs_volume.xls as per below \n\n3. The work locations in these shapefiles link to the Office of Water's Water Licensing System (WLS) to extract details on each Approved license including any linked Water Access Licenses (WAL) if the Work was now under the Water Management Act (WMA). These files end in \\*_WLS-EXTRACT_n.xls.\n\n4.\tIf found the linked WAL number is used to re-query using WLS to extract details on each linked WAL. These files end in \\*_WLS-EXTRACT_n_WALs_volume.xls.\n\n5.\tThe Approved License number attached to each Work was then used to query the Office of Water's Water Licensing System (WLS) to extract details on each Approved license including any linked Water Access Licenses (WAL) if the Work was now under the Water Management Act (WMA). These files end in \\*_WLS-EXTRACT_n.xls.\n\n6.\tIf found the linked WAL number is used to re-query using WLS to extract details on each linked WAL. These files end in \\*_WLS-EXTRACT_n_WALs_volume.xls.\n\n7.\tIt should be noted that due to query size constraints in WLS the output files for each polygon area may be split into a number of subset files ("n" being the number of the subset).\n\n8.\tThe field headings are as per the WLS Extract report. They include some characters (e.g. "\\") that may cause problems if loaded into ArcGIS. Not knowing how the data is to be used I have not amended them.\n\n\n\nUnderstanding Licensing data\n\n1.\tA Licensed Work Approval may have more than work (and therefore work location, i.e. point) associated with it. If the Licensed Work Approval is under the old Water Act it may have associated with it an "Entitlement" volume (if on a Regulated River) or an "Allocation" volume in an unregulated area. Please note that these volumes are for the whole licensed approval distributed amongst the related works but not against any particular one.\n\n2.\tA Licensed Work Approval, if under the newer Water Management Act may have more than one linked WAL. Each WAL may have a "Share Component" volume associated with it. This will nee to be summed against each linked Licensed Work Approval to get the total WAL volume. Please note again that these volumes are for the whole licensed approval distributed amongst the related works but not against any particular one.\n\n3.\tIt is important to note that under the WMA it is possible for WALs not to have a linked Licensed Work Approval (to support Water Trading). This means a spatial select with not find these WALs and the volumes associated with them. The WAL is still related to a particular Water Source and can be re-associated with a different Licensed Work Approval at a later date.\n\n\n\nThis dataset has been provided to the BA Programme for use within the programme only. Third parties may request a copy of the data from DPI Water (previously known as the NSW Office of Water) at http://www.water.nsw.gov.au/.\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nThis data was extracted from Office of Water's Water Licensing System (WLS) to extract details on each Approved license including any linked Water Access Licenses (WAL) if the Work was now under the Water Management Act (WMA). These files end in \\*_WLS-EXTRACT_n.xls.\n\nIf found the linked WAL number is used to re-query using WLS to extract details on each linked WAL. These files end in \\*_WLS-EXTRACT_n_WALs_volume.xls.\n\n## **Dataset Citation** \n\nNSW Office of Water (2013) NSW Office of Water Groundwater Licence Extract Gloucester - Oct 2013. ## **Abstract** \n\nThe dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement. \n\n\n\nThis dataset is a subset of the Hunter Riverine landscapes classes to be shown as an augmentation to the modelled river impacts layer. \n\n\n\nIt contains non-ephemeral landscape classes (low to mod intermittent, mod to highly intermittent and perennial) which are deemed to be potentially subject to hydrological change due to having their headwaters in areas subject to ACRD induced drawdown. \n\n\n\nPotential impact is flagged at Q05, Q50 and Q95 levels in the attribute table.\n\n## **Purpose** \n\nfor use in map reports\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nNon ephemeral stream landscape classes were compared with foot prints of 0.2m groundwater ACRD drawdown at the Q05 Q50 and Q95 levels. Streams rising out of and/or intersecting the footprints at the respective quantiles were tagged acoordingly were selected out and tagged accordingly in the attribute table\n\n## **Dataset Citation** \n\nBioregional Assessment Programme (2017) HUN SW Potentially Impacted Reaches by Quantile v01. Asset database for the Gippsland Basin bioregion on 04 March 2016

    No full text
    ## **Abstract** \n\nThe dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement. \n\n\n\nThe Gippsland database V3 supersedes the previous version 2.1 (Asset database for the Gippsland Basin bioregion on 18 September 2015, GUID: f67fbe66-2e36-4444-8575-2b0370ad7398). The previous database (v2.1) should be considered as the update to v1.5 Asset database for the Gippsland Basin bioregion on 16 June 2015, GUID: 178b98b7-3107-4cbf-b7ea-fc648c6f5870). \n\n\n\nThis dataset contains v3 of the Asset database (GIP_asset_database_20160304.mdb), a Geodatabase version for GIS mapping purposes (GIP_asset_database_20160304_GISOnly.gdb), an updated draft Water Dependent Asset Register spreadsheet (BA-GIP-ALL-130-WaterDependentAssetRegister-AssetList-V20160304.xlsx), a data dictionary (GIP_asset_database_doc_20160304.doc), a folder (Indigenous_doc) containing documentation associated with Indigenous water asset project, and a folder (NRM_DOC) containing documentation associated with the Water Asset Information Tool (WAIT) process as outlined below.\n\n\n\nUnder the BA program, a spatial assets database is developed for each defined bioregional assessment project. The spatial elements that underpin the identification of water dependent assets are identified in the first instance by regional NRM organisations (via the WAIT tool) and supplemented with additional elements from national and state/territory government datasets. All reports received associated with the WAIT process for Gippsland are included in the zip file as part of this dataset. Elements are initially included in the preliminary assets database if they are partly or wholly within the bioregion's preliminary assessment extent (Materiality Test 1, M1). Elements are then grouped into assets which are evaluated by project teams to determine whether they meet the second Materiality Test (M2). Assets meeting both Materiality Tests comprise the water dependent asset list. Descriptions of the assets identified in the Gippsland bioregion are found in the "AssetList" table of the database. In this version of the database both M1 and M3 have been assessed. Assets are the spatial features used by project teams to model scenarios under the BA program. Detailed attribution does not exist at the asset level. Asset attribution includes only the core set of BA-derived attributes reflecting the BA classification hierarchy, as described in Appendix A of " GIP_asset_database_doc_20160304.doc ", located in the zip file as part of this dataset. The "Element_to_Asset" table contains the relationships and identifies the elements that were grouped to create each asset. Detailed information describing the database structure and content can be found in the document " GIP_asset_database_doc_20160304.doc " located in the zip file. Some of the source data used in the compilation of this dataset is restricted.\n\nThe public version of this asset database can be accessed via the following dataset: Asset database for the Gippsland Basin bioregion on 04 March 2016 Public (https://data.gov.au/data/dataset/fa57a214-ec1e-4ccb-af5e-0ea6e6eb47ed)\n\n## **Purpose** \n\nThe Asset List Database was developed to identify water dependent assets located within the Gippsland Basin bioregion.\n\nThe public version of this asset database can be accessed via the following dataset: Asset database for the Gippsland Basin bioregion on 04 March 2016 Public (https://data.gov.au/data/dataset/fa57a214-ec1e-4ccb-af5e-0ea6e6eb47ed)\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nVersionID\tDate_\tNotes\n\n1\t9/12/2014\tInitial database.\n\n1.2\t30/01/2015\t\n\nDatabase updated with elements and assets derived from additional source datasets: Economic_SW; VICADV_VulnFauna and Flora; Plantation Forests; Irrigation Districts; Inundation 100 year flood extent; Landscape Priority Areas (West); Farm Dam boundaries.\n\n\n\n1.3\t12/02/2015\tAIDs updated for new assets (existing AID + 20000) to avoid duplication of AIDs used in databases for other subregions.\n\n\n\n1.4\t9/06/2015\t\n\n(1) Previous groundwater, surface water, GMA and WSPA assets (sources: VIC_DEPI_ECON_GW, Vic_Surfacewater Licences Economic Asset Data, ECON_GW_VIC_GMA and ECON_GW_VIC_WSPA respectively) were turned off (i.e. the field of InRegister in table AssetList has a value No). ## **Abstract** \n\nThis dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme. The parent datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.\n\n\n\nSprings datasets showing drawdown for Alluvium, Clematis and Permian.\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nThis dataset was created using:\n\nBA_ALL\\ALL\\DATA\\Ecology\\Springs\\QLD_SpringsDatabase_Oct2016 26030523-4eb6-4abb-8932-bee72f954303 as a base and selecting those springs inside the zone of potential hydrological change. These datasets were then joined with the drawdown grids (see lineage) to add the value into the tables.\n\n## **Dataset Citation** \n\nBioregional Assessment Programme (2017) Springs GAL drawdown.
