奈免羅遺跡SX3003出土副葬水晶製玉類について
No full text本稿では、弥生時代西日本における副葬水晶製玉類のうち、鳥取県八頭町奈免羅遺跡SX3003から出土した水晶製玉類について、その年代的位置づけと製作地に関する検討を行った。その結果、前稿で示した型式分類への比定と製作技法から後期前半の所産である可能性を提示し、水晶製玉類の法量、穿孔方法から青谷上寺地遺跡を製作地と想定した。このことから奈免羅遺跡SX3003出土の水晶製玉類は弥生時代後期前半における水晶製玉類の製作と流通網の存在の一端を明らかにできる資料といえる
Treatment of spontaneously hypertensive rats during pregnancy and lactation with the antioxidant tempol lowers blood pressure and reduces oxidative stress
No full textGenetic and environmental factors interact in a complex manner in the pathogenesis of essential hypertension in humans. Oxidative stress is considered one of the more important environmental factors. We used the spontaneously hypertensive rat (SHR) model to test whether continuous feeding with the antioxidant tempol reduces maternal oxidative stress during pregnancy and potentially contributes to the prevention of cardiovascular disease onset. Pregnant female rats were divided into control and tempol-treated groups. Tempol was continuously administered in drinking water. The administration period lasted approximately 40 days, from the confirmation of a vaginal plug until birth of the pups and their subsequent weaning. The blood pressure (BP) of each adult female was measured three times during pregnancy and post parturition. Milk was collected three times from nursing mother rats in the immediate postpartum period. Markers of oxidative stress were measured: 8-hydroxyl-2′-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) levels in milk during the experimental period and 8-OHdG and corticosterone levels in urine of adult and neonatal rats. The urinary level of 8-OHdG in the tempol-treated group was significantly lower than that in the control group. Corticosterone levels were significantly lower in urine of neonatal rats from the tempol-treated group compared with the levels of the control group. The levels of total antioxidant in milk were significantly greater in the tempol-treated group than in the control group. This study demonstrated that continuous administration of tempol to pregnant SHRs reduced maternal oxidative stress and contributed to reduced oxidative stress in neonatal rats
Malnutrition is Associated With Cognitive Impairment in Patients With Repeated Hospitalization for Acute Heart Failure
No full textThe purpose was to assess the nutritional characteristics of patients repeatedly hospitalized with acute heart failure (AHF). We enrolled 60 patients with hospitalized at least three times within four years. The Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (GNRI) was used as a nutritional index. The patients were divided into three groups based on changes in GNRI: (1) Good group, good or mild decrease in nutritional status (GNRI ≥ 92); (2) Change group, nutritional status changed; and (3) Poor group, moderate to severe malnutrition status (GNRI <92). Of the 60 patients, there were 23 in the Good group (38.3%), 23 in the Change group (38.3%), and 14 in the Poor group (23.4%). The overall GNRI decreased at every hospitalization. The rate of cognitive impairment (CI) was highest and handgrip strength was lowest in the Poor group. In multivariate analysis, CI was independently associated with the Poor group. 大腿骨骨折術後の超高齢者における生活の変化とその対応
No full text本研究の目的は、大腿骨骨折術後の超高齢者における生活の変化と対応を明らかにすることであった。自宅で生活している大腿骨骨折術後の超高齢者９名に半構造化面接を行った。大腿骨骨折術後の超高齢者は【自在に足が上がらず移動に支障が出る】【下肢の曲げ伸ばし動作が困難になる】生活の変化を自覚し、【用心して動く】対応をしていた。また、【立って行う家事動作ができなくなる】ことに対して【立たなくてもできる方法を用いる】や【身体の一部として補助具を扱う】【動くために環境を上手く使う】対応をしていた。そして、超高齢者は【好きなように出かけられなくなる】生活の変化を感じていたが、【周囲の人が気にかけてくれる】という変化も感じていた。そして、自分に【できることをする】という対応の一方で【一線を退く】対応をしていた。超高齢者の生活の変化への対応を理解し自律を妨げない支援がQOLの維持につながると考える
