    Analysis of the Effect of Life Cycle, Investment Opportunity Set, Profitability, Leverage, and Free Cash Flow Equity on Dividend Policy in Property, Real Estate, and Building Construction Companies Listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange

    The inconsistency of dividend payments in the property, real estate, and building construction sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange highlights the need for a deeper understanding of the influencing factors. This study aims to analyze the effect of life cycle, investment opportunity set, profitability, leverage, and free cash flow equity on dividend policy in property, real estate, and building construction companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The study uses seven companies as samples selected through a data filtering process. Multiple linear regression analysis using panel data with a Random Effect Model is employed to examine the factors influencing the dividend policy of the sampled companies. At a 0.05 significance level, the results show that the life cycle has a positive and significant effect on dividend policy. Likewise, leverage has a negative and significant effect on dividend policy. Profitability exhibits a positive and significant effect at the 0.1 significance level. On the other hand, the investment opportunity set and free cash flow equity show a positive but insignificant effect on dividend policy.114 PagesTesis Magiste

    The process of accepting new students is one of the crucial stages in the education system that affects the quality and quantity of students in an institution. In Dairi Regency, the process of accepting new students still faces various challenges, such as the lack of transparency of information and difficulties in accessing registration data by prospective students and parents. This study aims to design the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) of the "SPMB Dairi" mobile application used by the Dairi Regency Communication and Information Office for registering new students in Dairi Regency. This study uses the Design Thinking method consisting of the stages of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The expected result is a mobile application with a user-friendly interface and optimal user experience, which is able to simplify the registration process for accepting new students in Dairi Regency.     Analysis of Thermal Comfort in Classrooms at the Faculty of Engineering, USU

    Thermal comfort in classrooms is a crucial factor that can significantly influence students’ concentration and productivity during the learning process. This study aims to analyze the distribution of airflow and the thermal comfort conditions in classrooms at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), specifically in rooms J03.208 and J03.312 of the Civil Engineering Department, with J15 Seminar Room of Industrial Engineering serving as a comparison. The research employed direct measurements of air temperature, humidity, and wind speed, alongside Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations to visualize indoor airflow distribution. Thermal comfort assessments were conducted using the Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) and Predicted Percentage Dissatisfied (PPD) indices in accordance with ASHRAE Standard 55-2020. The results showed that rooms J03.208 and J03.312 had PMV values exceeding the recommended comfort range, with uneven airflow distribution due to variations in cooling systems. In contrast, the J15 Seminar Room met both national and international thermal comfort standards, indicating optimal thermal conditions. These findings highlight the critical role of effective cooling systems and airflow distribution in achieving thermal comfort. This study is expected to serve as a reference for planning and improving ventilation and air conditioning systems in educational spaces to enhance the quality of the learning environment.198 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    Analysis of Bushido Values in the Character of Akazaya Nine Group Characters in the Anime Series “One Piece”

    This study aims to analyze the depiction of Bushido values in the samurai characters of the Akazaya Nine group in the anime series “One Piece”, especially in the story section about Wano Country using the theoretical of sociology of literature and the concept of Bushido values. In addition, this study also examines the intrinsic elements of the story, including themes, settings, characters/characterization, and the message contained in the story section. The theory of sociology of literature is used to examine the relationship between literary works, such as anime with the social and cultural behavior of the society contained therein, while the Bushido values which include honesty makoto (誠), virtue/compassion jin (仁), loyalty chuugi (忠義), honor meiyo (名誉), sincerity gi (義), politeness rei (礼), and courage yuu (勇) are the main focus in the analysis of the samurai characters of the Akazaya Nine group. The research method employed is qualitative descriptive with data collection through documentation study. The results of the study indicate that Bushido values are consistently represented through loyalty to the leader, courage in facing enemies, and commitment to upholding honor as samurai by members of the Akazaya Nine group. From the analysis of the intrinsic elements, it was found that the theme in the Wano Country story arc centers on the struggle to achieve freedom from the oppression imposed by a tyrannical government. The story’s setting, which reflects feudal Japanese culture, reinforces the atmosphere and the Bushido values analyzed. The characters in the Akazaya Nine group are depicted as emphasizing the characteristics of true samurai, while the message conveyed shows the importance of courage, commitment, and integrity in facing injustice. The results of this study show that the anime One Piece not only provides entertainment, but can also be used as an educational medium for Bushido cultural and moral values.111 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    The Impact of Islamic Financing and Islamic Investment Growth On Indonesia's Economic Growth

    This study aims to analyze the effect of Islamic Financing and Islamic Investment on Indonesia’s Economic Growth using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) method. The data used are quarterly time series data from 2014 to 2024. The data obtained from official sources such as the Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK), Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), and Bank Indonesia (BI). The result show that partially, Islamic Financing has no significant effect on Indonesia’s Economic Growth. Meanwhile, Islamic Investment has a significant effect on Economic growth. Simultaneously, both Islamic Financing and Islamic Investment have a significant effect on Indonesia’s economic growth. Based on the cointegration test, there is a long term relationship between Islamic Financing, Islamic Investment, and Economic Growth. However, in the long term relationship, only Islamic Investment has a significant effect on Indonesia’s Economic Growth.92 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    The Effect of Preoperative Maltodextrin Administration on the Incidence of Postoperative Nausea and Vomiting (PONV) in Cesarean Section Patients Undergoing Spinal Anesthesia

    Background: Postoperative Nausea and Vomiting (PONV) is a common side effect following anesthesia, including in patients undergoing Caesarean Section (CS) with spinal anesthesia. PONV negatively affects patient comfort and postoperative recovery. The preoperative administration of carbohydrate-rich fluids such as maltodextrin has been recommended as part of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocol to reduce the incidence of PONV. Objective: To evaluate the effect of preoperative maltodextrin administration on the incidence of PONV in patients undergoing CS with spinal anesthesia. Methods: This study was a randomized controlled trial with a single-blind design. Subjects were elective CS patients with spinal anesthesia who met the inclusion criteria. They were divided into two groups: the treatment group received 400 ml of a drink containing 50 g of maltodextrin twice (8 and 4 hours before surgery), while the control group followed standard preoperative fasting. PONV was assessed at 6, 12, and 24 hours postoperatively using the ISS-PONV questionnaire. Results: The maltodextrin group showed a significant reduction in ISS-PONV scores compared to the control group at 6, 12, and 24 hours postoperatively (p<0.001). The average PONV scores were lower in the group receiving maltodextrin. No significant difference was found in blood glucose levels before and after maltodextrin administration. There were also no significant differences in demographic or baseline clinical parameters between the two groups. Conclusion: Preoperative administration of maltodextrin is effective in reducing postoperative nausea and vomiting in CS patients undergoing spinal anesthesia.94 PagesTesis Magiste

    This study aimed to determine the effect of BAP and NAA concentrations in the medium on the in vitro morphogenesis of Tempuyung (Sonchus arvensis L.). The research was conducted at the Plant Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara, from December 2024 to march 2025. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors. The first factor was the concentration of Naphthaleneacetic Acid (NAA) : (0.0; 0.2; 0.5 ppm). The second factor was the concentration of Benzyl Amino Purine (BAP) : (0.0; 1.0; 2.0; 3.0 ppm). The observed parameters included the percentage of explants forming shoots (%), days to shoot emergence, number of shoots, plant height, root length, and number of roots. The results showed that the combination of NAA and BAP had a significant effect on the percentage of explants forming shoots, days to shoot emergence, and number of shoots. The best treatment for shoot morphogenesis was obtained from the use of MS medium supplemented with 0.5 ppm NAA and 1 ppm BAP.75 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    Analysis of The Effect of Sunlight Intensity on Battery Charging Efficiency From Solar Panels Based on The Internet of Things (IoT)

    This study aims to analyze the effect of sunlight intensity on the efficiency of battery charging using a solar panel monitored in real-time through an Internet of Things (IoT)-based system. The results show a proportional relationship between light intensity and charging efficiency. Higher light intensities (above 40,000 lux) generate stable current and voltage, leading to faster and more efficient battery charging. Conversely, at lower intensities (below 10,000 lux), the charging process slows down or even stops. The monitoring system was built using an ESP8266 microcontroller, a BH1750 light sensor, and an OLED display as a local output, all integrated and functioning properly. The system is connected to the Blynk IoT platform, enabling remote data monitoring in the form of digital values and interactive graphs. This facilitates performance analysis of the solar panel under various environmental conditions. Overall, the system successfully meets the research objectives: analyzing the relationship between light intensity and charging efficiency, developing an IoT-based monitoring system, and presenting real-time data visualization for practical and informative analysis.54 PagesKertas Karya Diplom

    Implementation Of Rank-Based Ant System On Android-Based Time Management Application

    The Directorate of Digitalization and System Integration (Ditgrasi) of Universitas Sumatera Utara faces significant challenges in manually scheduling website training activities, which are complex, time-consuming, and prone to schedule conflicts. This research aims to develop an Android-based time management application that implements the Rank-based Ant System (RankedAS) algorithm to provide an automated scheduling solution for these issues within the Ditgrasi environment. The application's core scheduling function was tested using the Black Box Testing method through two complex scenarios. The results showed that the application successfully generated an optimal and entirely conflict-free schedule in the first scenario, which involved 20 training activities and 2 meeting schedules as constraints. In the second, more complex scenario with 30 training activities and 5 meeting schedules, the system's performance was deemed quite satisfactory despite two identified conflict case related to human resource allocation, in which a programmer was scheduled in two different rooms simultaneously. However, most schedules were successfully optimized according to the existing constraints. Furthermore, algorithm testing was performed to prove its accuracy by comparing the application's results with manual calculations in a simple scenario. In the first iteration, two solutions generated by the ants scored 100, with the first-ranked solution's pheromone updated by 200 and the second-ranked by 100. In the second iteration, both solutions also scored 100, and the pheromones were updated to 290 and 200 for the first rank and 280 for the second rank, matching the manual calculation. The results indicate that the application can produce accurate calculations. This research demonstrates that the developed automated scheduling application based on the Rank-based Ant System functions, as expected, shows great potential for improving efficiency and reducing the workload at Ditgrasi USU.     Comparative Analysis of The Application of Fuzzy Logic Using The Sugeno and Tsukamoto Method in Weather Forecasting in Medan City

    This study aims to compare the Sugeno and Tsukamoto methods applied in weather forecasting using Fuzzy Logic. The input variables include air temperature, humidity, sunlight duration, and wind speed, while the output variable comprises weather categories: no rain, light rain, moderate rain, and heavy rain. The data used are secondary data obtained from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Region I Medan for October 2024. The Sugeno and Tsukamoto methods were implemented to forecast the weather in Medan City. The performance of both methods was evaluated using the sign test with a binomial distribution against actual weather data. The results showed that the Sugeno method produced 7 positive signs and 2 negative signs (p-value = 0.0898), while the Tsukamoto method produced 5 positive signs and 2 negative signs (p-value = 0.2264). Since both p-values are greater than the significance level of 0.05, it can be concluded that there is no statistically significant difference between the forecast results of the two methods and the actual data. However, the smaller p-value of the Sugeno method indicates a closer alignment with the actual data, suggesting that this method has better accuracy than the Tsukamoto method. A linear regression model was used to predict the input variable values for the 32nd and 33rd data entries. Both methods forecasted moderate rain for these entries, while the actual data showed moderate rain and heavy rain. This indicates that both methods were able to provide forecasts that closely matched actual weather conditions.61 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
