    No full text
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease of often referred to as COPD is a disease related to structural changes in the lungs and is characterized by shortness of breath, coughing and excessive sputum production. This condition can cause COPD patients to experience disturbed sleep patterns. Acupressure therapy is one of the non-pharmacological therapies used to improve sleep quality. This study aims to apply the concept of nursing care in COPD patients with disturbed sleep patterns through acupressure therapy. This research uses a case study method with a nursing process approach which includes assessment, data analysis, nursing diagnosis, nursing planning, nursing implementation and evaluation. From the results of the assessment of Mr.B, it was found that the patient complained of shortness of breath accompanied by a cough with phlegm, and had difficulty sleeping. The nursing diagnosis that appeared in Mr.B was: ineffective airway clearance associated with airway hypersecretion, impaired gas exchange associated with alveolus-capillary membrane changes, and sleep pattern disorders associated with poor sleep control. After taking nursing action, it was found that airway clearance was resolved, gas exchange disturbances were partially resolved, and sleep pattern disturbances were resolved with the results of reduced shortness of breath, being able to cough effectively, improved oxygen saturation, complaints of difficulty sleeping and frequent wakefulness decreased. Acupressure therapy has proven effective in overcoming disturbances in the patient’s sleep patterns with the result that the patient can sleep soundly and rarely wake up.142 PagesKarya Tulis Profes

Arduino Uno-Based Height and Weight Measuring Tool Using Ultrasonic Sensors and Load Cells

    No full text
Measuring height and weight is an important activity in the fields of health, education, and sports. However, manual methods that are still widely used are often impractical, require assistance from others, and are prone to errors in readings. Therefore, this study aims to design and build an automatic height and weight measuring tool based on the Arduino Uno microcontroller, using an HC-SR04U ultrasonic sensor to measure height and a load cell sensor connected to the HX711 module to measure weight. The measurement data is processed by the Arduino Uno and displayed in real-time on a 16x2 LCD screen. Tests show that the tool functions optimally with an average error rate for height (Ultrasonic Sensor) of 0.453%, and weight (Load Cell Sensor) of 1.581%.51 PagesKertas Karya Diplom

    No full text
Background: The quality of drinking water and wastewater is very important to protect public health and preserve the environment. The levels of nitrates, TDS, and TSS are the main parameters that need to be analyzed to ensure water suitability. Objective: This study aims to determine the levels of nitrates and TDS in drinking water, as well as the levels of TSS in wastewater around the Provincial Health Laboratory UPTD North Sumatra. Method: Analysis was performed using spectrophotometric methods for nitrate and TDS testing, while gravimetric methods were used for TSS testing. Water samples were taken from several locations around the laboratory. Results: The results show that the nitrate levels in drinking water range from 0.7478 mg/L to 3.8832 mg/L, which is still well below the maximum threshold of 50 mg/L according to SNI 3553:2015. The TDS levels were found to be between 116 mg/L and 668 mg/L, with all samples meeting the quality standard of a maximum of 1,000 mg/L. The TSS levels in wastewater ranged from 11 mg/L to 58 mg/L, with some results exceeding the SNI 7508:2011threshold for classes 1 and 2, which is 20 mg/L. Conclusion: Most drinking water samplesmeet eligibility requirements based on SNI quality standards and Minister of Health regulations, but there are some wastewater samples that do not meet the TSS standards according to applicable regulations.69 PagesKertas Karya Diplom
