    Growth and Exploitation Rate of Squid (Uroteuthis sp.) Caught in the Waters of Malacca Strait Belawan, North Sumatra

    Squid (Uroteuthis sp.) is a commercially important commodity in the fisheries activities of the Malacca Strait waters. However, squid production has been declining, and information regarding its growth and exploitation rate in this region remains limited. This study was conducted from June 2024 to September 2024 with the aim of determining the morphology, growth, and exploitation rate of squid (Uroteuthis sp.) in the Malacca Strait waters. The results showed the presence of two squid species in the Malacca Strait: Uroteuthis chinensis and Uroteuthis duvaucelii. Growth parameter estimation using the Von Bertalanffy method for U. chinensis in the Malacca Strait waters revealed an asymptotic length (L∞) of 591.4 mm, a growth coefficient (K) of 1.01 per year, and an age at zero length (t0) of -1.1595. For U. duvaucelii, the parameters were L∞ of 413.5 mm, K of 1.30 per year, and t0 of -1.2305. The growth pattern of Uroteuthis sp. in the Malacca Strait waters exhibited negative allometric growth (b < 3), with the equation W = 0.004L2,0381 for U. chinensis and W = 0.0023L2,1088 for U. duvaucelii. The exploitation rates for U. chinensis and U. duvaucelii were -0.5274 and -3.7056, respectively, indicating that the exploitation rate of Uroteuthis sp. in the Malacca Strait waters does not exceed the optimum value (0.5).82 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    Preparation and Characterization of Polymer Superabsorbents Based on Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose and Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose with Phthalic Acid as Cross-Linking Agent

    This study examines the process of making and characterizing superabsorbent polymer (SAP) based on Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (Na-CMC) and Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose (HEMC). The manufacture of superabsorbent polymer was carried out by mixing Na-CMC and HEMC with a mass ratio of 3: 1 in 2% of the mixture mass. Then in the next stage, Phthalic Acid was added as a cross-linking agent with variations in cross-linking concentration of 0%; 1%; 3%; 5% and 7%. The results of the mixture were in the form of a film that would be characterized by cross-linking degree tests, water absorption, FTIR, DSC and TGA. The results of a good cross-linking percentage were shown in the variation of the phthalic acid cross-linking agent concentration of 3%, which was 42.35%. The results of water absorption showed an optimum value with a variation of the phthalic acid cross-linking concentration of 3%, which was able to absorb 3342% or could absorb 33.42 g/g of its dry weight. The FTIR test results show the formation of a polymer superabsorbent supported by the FTIR spectrum in the mixture of Na-CMC, HEMC and Phthalic Acid as a cross-linking agent with the presence of -OH groups at a wavelength of 3496.2 cm-1 and -COO groups at a wavelength of 1453.6 cm-1 and a new absorption peak is at a wave number of 1625.1 cm-1 which is the presence of an ester group which indicates that cross-linking has occurred in the SAP polymer. The thermogam results in thermal analysis using DSC produce a glass transition temperature (Tg) value between 129.71.     Illocutionary Acts in Indonesia Foreign Minister's Speech in the UN Emergency Session

    This study analyzes the illocutionary acts in Indonesia Foreign Minister’s Speech in the UN Emergency Session, focusing on their classification and functions. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the study examines 52 utterances from the speech, which are transcribed and analyzed based on Searle’s speech act theory. The findings reveal that directives are the most dominant illocutionary acts (59.5%), reflecting the speech's urgency and persuasive intent. Representatives (25.6%) are used to provide factual statements and reinforce credibility, while expressives (8.51%) convey emotions. Commissives (4.26%) demonstrate commitments to future actions, and declarations (2.13%) serve as formal statements of identity and authority. The study concludes that Indonesia Foreign Minister’s strategically employs illocutionary acts to advocate for humanitarian action and influence international policy. This research contributes to the understanding of linguistic strategies in diplomatic discourse, particularly in the context of Indonesian diplomacy.     Impact Strength of Heat-Cured Acrylic Resin after The Addition Of Alkalized and Dyed Nanoparticle Powder of Barangan Banana Stem (Musa Acuminata Colla)

    Heat-cured acrylic resin as a denture base that is potentially subject to sudden impacts, such as falling while cleaning dentures. To prevent the possibility of easy fracture due to impact, it is necessary to increase the impact strength of acrylic resin. One of the ways is to add reinforcing materials such as natural fibers. The addition of natural fibers, such as banana stem fibers, as a reinforcement for acrylic resin is expected to improve and enhance the mechanical properties, thus strengthening the resistance of acrylic resin to impact. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in impact strength of heat-cured acrylic resin after the addition of alkalized and dyed barangan banana stem fiber nanoparticle powder (Musa acuminata Colla) at concentrations of 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5% weight. The research samples were made of heat-cured acrylic resin 80x10x4 mm as many as 10 pieces for each treatment group, namely, the group without fiber powder addition (I), the group added fiber powder with 0.5% weight (II), fiber powder 1% weight (III) and fiber powder 1.5% weight (IV) with ratio of fiber powder: polymer: monomer, namely 0.025 gr: 4.975 gr: 2.5 ml (II), 0.05 gr: 4.95 gr: 2.5 ml (III), and 0.075 gr: 4.925 gr: 2.5 ml (IV). The fibers were taken from the middle part of the banana stem, alkalized with 5% NaOH at a temperature of 25oC for 1 hour, then dyed with 15% red dragon fruit extract, ground, dried, and underwent the ball milling process to obtain nanoparticle size. Nanoparticle powder was added to the resin powder and mixed with monomer liquid, packaged, then cured, then the sample was polished and finalized. Impact strength was tested using a Charpy impact tester with a swing angle of 150o and a hammer mass of 0.71 kg. The mean and standard deviation of impact strength values in groups I, II, III, and IV were 0.0095±0.0019 J/mm2, 0.0131±0.0032 J/mm2, 0.0139±0.0035 J/mm2, 0.0145±0.0026 J/mm2, respectively. ANOVA statistical test showed that there was a significant difference in impact strength in heat-cured acrylic resin after the addition of 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5% weight of barangan banana stem fiber powder with p-value of 0.002 (p <0.05). Post-hoc test showed that there was a significant difference (p <0.05) between groups with and without addition. It can be concluded that the impact strength of heat-cured acrylic resin increases with the addition of nanoparticle powder of barangan banana stem fiber and the addition of 1.5% weight is the powder concentration with the highest impact value.90 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    A Comparative Study Of Clustering Algorithms For Optimizing The Distribution Of The Indonesia Smart Card (KIP-K) Aid Program In Indonesia

    Poverty and limited access to education remain major issues in Indonesia, particularly in determining the recipients of educational assistance such as the Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP-K). This study aims to optimize the determination of KIP-K recipients by using regional clustering based on socio-economic indicators, such as poverty levels and school dropout rates. The primary objective of this research is to identify areas that require more attention in the distribution of KIP-K assistance, ensuring it is more accurately targeted. Three clustering algorithms used in this study are K-Means, DBSCAN, and Agglomerative Clustering. The analysis results show that Agglomerative Clustering produces more distinct and cohesive clusters, with the highest Silhouette score of 0.6144, indicating clearer regional divisions. Meanwhile, K-Means, with a Silhouette score of 0.6128, also delivers satisfactory results, although not as optimal as Agglomerative Clustering. DBSCAN shows limitations in grouping data, as most regions are identified as noise. As an implementation of this research, an interactive Streamlit dashboard has been developed to visualize the clustering results and facilitate decision-making in the distribution of KIP-K assistance. This dashboard serves as an effective tool to enhance the transparency and efficiency of KIP-K distribution, supporting more precise decision-making.95 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    Hypertension is a significant global health problem. One of the efforts of early detection and prevention of hypertension is done through posbindu PTM. However, in t he health center glugur darat hypertension service achievement is still low only reac hed 61,1% with a considerable target of 22.869 people. This study aims to identify how the implementation of the PTM Posbindu program in early detection and prevention of hypertension in the public health center based on the system approach that is input, process, and output. The type of research used is qualitative research. Data collection method was done by observation and interview to 15 informants. The results showed that the availability of human resources from the cadres side is adequate but, from the community health center personnel still need to be improved. Means for the implementation of early detection of hypertension are available. Infrastructure or convenient location is very important to increase early detection participation in PTM Posbindu. The availability of insufficient funds to meet the procurement of consumables, kms frptm, as well as the late provision of honor to the cadres. In preparation system, coordination is good but communication needs to be improved so that information can be received evenly. Implementation that includes an examination of blood pressure is already carried out. However, evaluation of risk factors and preventive education still needs to be improved. Recording and reporting have been done but not all cadres have mastered Asik. Early detection results vary with community participation that still needs to be improved. Prevention of hypertension through education provides positive benefits, although the impact is different in each individual. The conclusion of this study is the implementation of Posbindu Program in early detection and prevention of hypertension has not been optimal caused by various constraints such as limited human resources, lack of facilities and funding, as well as problems in data recording. Suggestions to the community health center in order to establish cooperation with many parties and improve the target program, so that can be done measurement of the success of the Posbindu PTM program.153 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    Business Strategy Design Using RBV, PESTEL & QSPM Methods (Case Study: Minyak Karo Laucih)

    The current business landscape is increasingly competitive due to globalization and technological advancements, requiring every entrepreneur to formulate appropriate strategies to survive and grow in the market. Minyak Karo Laucih is a micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) based in Karo Regency, North Sumatra, that produces traditional herbal oil derived from indigenous Karo spices. Although it is classified at level 3 (digital success) according to Bank Indonesia’s MSME categorization, Minyak Karo Laucih still faces significant challenges in market penetration and product promotion, particularly when compared to competitors such as Minyak Kutus-Kutus, which has achieved national reach and strong promotional activities. This study aims to design a business development strategy for Minyak Karo Laucih by applying the Resource Based View (RBV) approach to identify internal factors and the PESTEL analysis to identify external factors. These factors are then synthesized using the SWOT matrix and further evaluated through the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM) method. The analysis results show a total IFE matrix score of 3.0288 and an EFE matrix score of 2.7450, placing Minyak Karo Laucih in cell IV of the IE matrix, corresponding to a grow and build strategy. From the twelve strategic alternatives generated by the SWOT analysis, the best strategy selected through QSPM is to emphasize affordable pricing and a diverse product range for all market segments, with a Total Attractiveness Score (TAS) of 5.6895. This strategy is considered the most effective for enhancing competitiveness, expanding market reach, and supporting the sustainable growth of Minyak Karo Laucih in the national herbal product industry.176 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    Conjoin-Based Marketing Strategy to Increase of Natural Sandy Rocks (Sirtu) Commodity in the Non-Metalic Mineral and Rock Mining Industry at PT XYZ

    The significant decline in sales of natural gravelly sand (sirtu) at PT XYZ during January–December 2024 negatively impacted the company’s revenue and the prospects of future mining permit extensions. This decline is suspected to be caused by a mismatch between the offered product and consumer preferences, including product type, price, purchase volume, delivery transportation, purchasing services, and payment methods. This study aims to identify the key factors influencing purchasing decisions, analyze consumer preferences using conjoint analysis, and formulate an appropriate marketing strategy. A descriptive and explanatory quantitative approach was used, employing purposive sampling with 25 respondents. Data were collected through a conjoint analysis-based questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS Statistics Version 30. The results indicate that the most preferred product attribute combination includes: medium-quality sirtu, medium price (Rp 200,000–270,000/m³), medium purchase volume, delivery using medium-sized dump trucks (6–8 m³), direct purchase, and Cash on Delivery (COD) payment method, with a total utility score of 1.638. Among the six attributes, the payment method had the greatest influence (24.326%), followed by purchase volume (20.096%) and delivery transportation (18.523%), while purchasing services had the least influence (6.247%). There were differences in consumer preferences across segments, with construction companies prioritizing transportation and price, while individual consumers emphasized payment methods and purchase volume flexibility.117 PagesTesis Magiste

    Evaluation of the Drainage System on Jalan Bunga Ester, Medan Selayang District

    An inadequate drainage system can cause waterlogging and flooding, especially in urban areas with high rainfall and rapid development. This study aims to evaluate the capacity of the drainage channel on Bunga Ester Street, Medan Selayang District, to determine whether the existing channels can accommodate the rainfall discharge according to the hydrological characteristics of the area. The analysis methods include collecting rainfall data, measuring the dimensions of existing channels, and calculating the design discharge using the rational method. The actual channel discharge is calculated based on the geometric profile and slope of the channel. The evaluation results show that most segments of the channel are unable to accommodate the design discharge, especially during rainfall events with certain return periods, thus requiring redesign or improvement of channel dimensions.     This study aims to determine the influence of Gender Diversity of Directors, Profitability, Capital Adequacy Ratio, and Financial Slack on the Disclosure of Green Banking Practices in Conventional Commercial Banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2019-2023. The sampling method used in this study is the purposive sampling method and a research sample of 12 companies was obtained with a total of 60 observations. The type of data used is secondary data with a data collection method through a documentation study from the company's official www.idx.com and website. The data analysis method used was multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study show that Financial Slack has a positive effect on the disclosure of green banking practices in conventional commercial banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2019-2023, and the Capital Adequacy Ratio has a negative effect on the disclosure of green banking practices in conventional commercial banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2019-2023. However, the variables of Gender Diversity, Board of Directors and Profitability have no effect on the disclosure of green banking practices in conventional commercial banks listed on the Indonesia stock exchange in 2019-2023.129 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
