Desalination is a process to obtain clean water by removing excess salt content in water to obtain water that can be consumed. One type of desalination that is often used is desalination that uses solar energy as the main heat source or also known as solar still. In previous research that has been done, it was found that the conventional double slope double basin has a weakness, namely the obstruction of sunlight that will enter by plywood or material that functions as an insulator retaining wall that is useful for holding or inhibiting the heat loss process in the basin / absorber In this study, a double basin double slope type solar still with modified glass walls was designed and built. The dimensions of the lower basin are 1m x 1m, while the dimensions of the upper basin are 0.5m x 1m.83 pagesSkripsi Sarjan

The Effects of Nano-Chitosan Hydroxyapatite, CPP-ACP, and Silver Diamine Fluoride on Enamel Remineralization: A Qualitative and Quantitative In Vitro Study

    No full text
Dental caries is one of the most common oral health problems globally, including in Indonesia. The initial indication of dental caries is the presence of non-cavitated lesions or white spot lesions (WSL). Demineralization is the primary cause of WSL formation. The mechanisms of demineralization and remineralization of Ca and P ions involve a series of chemical processes occurring in the enamel. When the oral pH drops below 5.5, H+ ions from dietary acids and bacteria cause enamel demineralization, leading to the release of Ca and P ions from hydroxyapatite. Conversely, remineralization involves the binding of Ca and P ions to demineralized enamel areas. This issue can be addressed by applying materials that promote enamel remineralization, such as chitosan. The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness of nano-chitosan hydroxyapatite, CPP-ACP, and SDF as remineralization agents using SEM-EDX analysis and to compare enamel hardness values using the Vickers hardness test. A total of 30 tooth sections obtained from the splitting of molar teeth were divided into four groups. Group I received CPP-ACP application. Group II received SDF application. Group III received nano-chitosan hydroxyapatite application. Statistical analysis showed no significant differences in calcium and phosphorus content among the groups (p > 0.05). Qualitative analysis using SEM revealed differences in the enamel surface morphology after remineralization. The enamel surface hardness test results indicated a significant difference in hardness values between the CPP-ACP and SDF groups (p = 0.014). In conclusion, there are variations in the effectiveness of each material, and all three remineralization agents demonstrate potential in restoring demineralized enamel structure96 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

Aquaculture are very dependent on the availability of feed in sufficient quantity and good quality to assist in the fish growth process. It is known that male gourami fish (Osphronemus gouramy) grow faster so that it can increase production from growing gourami fish. One of the aquaculture biotechnologies that has been widely developed and applied in increasing aquaculture production, especially fish through masculinization, is sex reversal. This method is carried out orally by adding Brahman cattle testicle flour (Bos indicus) to commercial feed at different doses. The aim of this research is to determine the dominant gender by using cow testicle meal for the Sex Reversal process in Gourami Fish (Osphronemus gouramy) and to determine the effect of the interaction between mixing commercial feed and cow testicle meal used on sex formation in gourami fish larvae (Osphronemus gouramy). This research includes making Brahman cattle testicle flour (Bos indicus), a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with two factorials, namely mixing beef testicle flour (T) with commercial feed in different quantities and feeding rates with different doses of 3%, 4%, 5% with 3 (three) repetitions. The results of feeding cow testicle flour had a very significant effect on the formation of male genitalia in gourami fish (Osphronemus gouramy) at a 5% confidence interval and the concentration treatment by providing commercial feed and the addition of cow testicle flour had a very significant effect on genital formation. males in gourami fish (Osphronemus gouramy).
