    This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of Product Quality, Location, and Price on Purchasing Decisions at Mixue outlets Jl. Jamin Ginting Medan. This research is associative and the type of data used is quantitative data. The data used was obtained from interviews and distributing research questionnaires. The data analysis method used is descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The population of this study were customers at Mixue Jl. Jamin Ginting Medan. The sample in this study amounted to 95 respondents. The results of this study indicate that simultaneously, Product Quality, Location, and Price simultaneously have a significant effect on Purchasing Decisions. Partially, the Product Quality variable has a negative and significant effect on Purchasing Decisions, the Location variable has a positive and significant effect on Purchasing Decisions, and the Price variable has a positive and significant effect on Purchasing Decisions.133 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    Classification of Rhizome Types of Spice Plants Using the Random Forest Method on Android

    Indonesia is one of the tropical countries rich in spices, commonly found in daily life, one of which is rhizomes. Rhizomes are a type of spice plant with stems that grow horizontally underground and produce new shoots at their nodes. This research aims to develop a mobile application capable of providing information about the classification of rhizome-type spice plants. The study used image processing techniques with the random forest method to classify rhizome types. The dataset consists of 1,000 images representing 10 types of rhizomes, with 700 images used as training data and 300 images as test data. The results of the study show that the random forest algorithm can deliver good performance in classifying rhizome types, achieving an accuracy of 80% based on 30 test images.     This study aims to explore the relationship between financial literacy, perception, and the financial inclusion of Islamic economics on the choice of Islamic finance among the youth in Medan City. Primary data was collected through questionnaires administered to respondents, with the population consisting of young individuals in Medan City within a defined age range. A sample of 100 respondents was surveyed. This study employs deskriptive analysis methods to indentify and describe the data. The analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) to examine the factors influencing the choice of Islamic finance. This research adopts a quantitative approach, analyzing the data statistically. The findings indicate that financial literacy does not have a significant positive relationship with the selection of Islamic finance. However, in contrast, both the perception of and financial inclusion in Islamic economics demonstrate a positive and statistically significant influence on the choice of Islamic finance among the youth in Medan City.110 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    Adolescent's Knowledge About Sexual Violence at SMP Negeri 31 Medan

    Sexual violence, including sexual harassment, is a serious issue in various countries, including Indonesia. The incidence rate of sexual violence against children in Indonesia continues to increase annually, affecting many individuals, particularly adolescents. Adolescents, who are in the transitional phase from childhood to adulthood, are highly vulnerable to acts of sexual violence. This study aims to describe the level of adolescents' knowledge about sexual violence at SMP Negeri 31 Medan. The research method used was quantitative with a descriptive approach. The study population consisted of 376 students, with a sample of 106 female students selected using a proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The research instrument used was a demographic data questionnaire and a sexual violence questionnaire. The study results showed that the majority of adolescents had good knowledge about sexual violence, with 84 students (79.2%) having good knowledge and 22 students (20.8%) having moderate knowledge. The conclusion of this study is that most adolescents have good knowledge about sexual violence. It is expected that schools can create a safe and supportive environment for students to discuss their experiences related to sexual violence and provide sex education to enhance adolescents' understanding of the forms of sexual violence. Through this education, adolescents can better understand sexual behavior and acts of sexual violence or harassment, thereby developing their ability to prevent sexual violence in their environment.126 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    This article is entitled " Student Perceptions of Women Who Smoke (Case Study: Female Students Who Smoke at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of North Sumatra)" This article aims to examine in depth the perceptions and shifts in students' perspectives on female smokers among female students of FISIP USU. Through the analytical approach of semiotic theory and social change theory, this study attempts to reveal how students' perceptions regarding female smoking behavior have undergone a transformation along with social and cultural changes in campus society. This study uses a qualitative approach with an in-depth interview method, which allows researchers to obtain an in-depth picture of the phenomena that occur in the field. This study examines two main aspects related to the phenomenon of female smokers at FISIP USU. First, this study explores the perceptions and how the process of changing students' perspectives on the phenomenon of female smokers. Second, it explores the perceptions of female smokers towards their smoking habits, including their understanding of self-image, motivation to smoke, and the social responses they receive. The results of the study show that smoking for women has experienced a significant shift in perspective. If previously this habit was considered taboo and inappropriate, now smoking is no longer taboo and has been accepted in the campus environment. Although social norms regarding women who smoke have shifted, some informants still believe that women who smoke are inappropriate, because they are still influenced by the negative stigma that has been ingrained since childhood.228 pagesSkripsi Sarjan

    Class actions are an increasingly relevant legal mechanism in the modern justice system, particularly in the context of the protection of consumer, environmental and other public rights. However, there is still some lack of effectiveness in the use of class action lawsuits. This research aims to find out the arrangement of filing a class action lawsuit according to PERMA Number 1 of 2002 concerning class action procedures, to find out the requirements that must be met by group representatives and groups represented in filing a class action lawsuit according to PERMA Number 1 of 2002 concerning class action procedures, and to find out the application of class action lawsuits based on PERMA Number 1 of 2002 concerning class action lawsuit procedures in the Medan District Court. This research uses normative juridical legal research methods supported by field research. Therefore, the data used includes primary, secondary, and tertiary data. Data were collected using field research and library research techniques. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using qualitative analysis methods. The results showed that the arrangement of filing a class action lawsuit is regulated based on PERMA No. 1 of 2002 concerning class action procedures. The requirements for filing a class action lawsuit are subjective, objective and filing procedures in order to file a class action lawsuit more effectively and efficiently in the Medan District Court. The application of class action lawsuits based on PERMA No. 1 of 2002 concerning class action lawsuit procedures in the District Court Class 1 A Medan is not effective enough, so the courts and judges in Indonesia must be able to provide a legal breakthrough or legal remedies to the public in general so that the application of class action lawsuits becomes more effective.115 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    This study analyzes the factors influencing the continuance intention of online education and training at the Balai Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Keuangan Negara Medan with learning experience quality as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative approach, this study involved 291 online training participants as samples. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results show that system ease of use, system quality, and supervisor support positively influence online training continuance intention, both directly and through the mediation of online learning experience quality. The quality of online learning experience effectively mediates the influence of all three independent variables on online training continuance intention. This study provides recommendations for improving online training sustainability through the development of user-friendly systems, system quality enhancement, and strengthening supervisor support.271 PagesTesis Magiste

    Cardioprotective Effect of Hydroalcohol Extract of Andaliman Fruits (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC.) through Apoptosis Pathway on Doxorubicin-Induced Rats

    Doxorubicin is a widely used anticancer drug known for its cardiotoxic side effects, which can induce apoptosis and damage heart tissue. Extract of andaliman fruits (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC.) (EAF) has demonstrated antioxidant properties and is believed to offer cardioprotective effects by inhibiting apoptosis. The aim of this study was to activate the antioxidant activity and inhibition of EAF apoptosis in doxorubicin-induced rats. The research method was experimental using rats divided into seven groups: a normal group, a doxorubicin group (10 mg/kg BW), a quercetin group (50 mg/kg BW), and four EAF treatment groups (50, 100, 200, 400 mg/kg BW) receiving different treatments of doxorubicin and EAF over nine days. On days 8 and 9, rats were administered doxorubicin, and serum and heart tissue were collected for analysis. Results showed that EAF significantly reduced the levels of iNOS, cTnT, TNF-α, and caspase-3, while increasing eNOS expression in the heart tissue of doxorubicin-treated rats. The 400 mg/kg BW dose of EAF was most effective, showing results comparable to the quercetin group. Histopathological examination also revealed that EAF helped repair myocardial damage caused by doxorubicin. In conclusion, EAF possesses significant cardioprotective activity, preventing apoptosis through a reduction in key biomarkers of heart damage and promoting tissue repair in doxorubicin-induced myocardial injury. This suggests that EAF could be a promising adjunctive therapy to mitigate the cardiotoxic effects of doxorubicin.156 PagesTesis Magiste

    Performance Analysis of Support Vector Machine (Svm) Model Through Parameter Optimization with Genetic Algorithm (Ga) in Chronic Kidney Disease Classification

    This study uses hyperparameter optimization to improve accuracy in classifying chronic kidney disease (CKD) through the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm. SVM is combined with the Grid Search technique for hyperparameter optimization, and SVM is combined with the Genetic Algorithm (GA) as a more adaptive optimization method. The test results show that combining SVM with Grid Search produces an average accuracy of 73.75%. However, when SVM is optimized using the Genetic Algorithm, the classification accuracy increases significantly to an average of 97.5%. The model optimized with the Genetic Algorithm performs significantly in both target classes. For class 0 (non-CKD), this model achieves a precision of 96.00%, a recall of 100%, and an F1-score of 98.00%. Meanwhile, for class 1 (CKD), the precision is recorded at 100%, a recall of 93.00%, and an F1-score of 96.00%. Genetic Algorithm for SVM hyperparameter optimization substantially improves the classification ability in detecting CKD, providing more precise results than the SVM-Grid Search method. The combination approach of SVM and Genetic Algorithm offers a more effective solution in classifying chronic kidney disease, which can improve the accuracy of medical diagnosis and help in better clinical decisionmaking86 PagesTesis Magiste

    Decaffeination of Robusta Green Coffee Beans (Coffea canephora) with Various Types of Fruit Juice

    The most widely grown types of coffee in Indonesia are Arabica and Robusta, and Robusta coffee has a higher caffeine content than Arabica coffee. Caffeine is the main compound found in coffee and plays a role in improving psychomotor performance and providing physiological effects on the body, namely increasing energy. However, some consumers are sensitive to caffeine, which can cause insomnia and digestive problems. The purpose of this study was to reduce the caffeine content of coffee enzymatically using protease enzymes because protein degradation in the coffee bean membrane can reduce caffeine content. This enzyme was obtained from pineapple juice, papaya juice, chayote juice and ginger juice and determined the best soaking time. In the first step, the optimal concentration of juice was determined, which resulted in the most effective reduction in caffeine levels from the types of juices that had two treatment factors. Factor 1 is the type of juice with 4 treatment levels (pineapple juice, papaya juice, chayote juice, and ginger juice) and factor 2 is the percentage of juice with 5 treatment levels (10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50%). The optimal concentration is based on the reduction in caffeine levels, namely 40% pineapple juice, 50% papaya juice, 50% chayote juice, and 40% ginger juice. Then decaffeination was carried out with variations in soaking time, with two treatment factors. Factor 1 is the best type of juice which includes 4 levels of treatment (40% pineapple juice, 50% papaya juice, 50% chayote juice and 40% ginger juice) and factor 2 is the soaking time with 3 levels of treatment (12 hours, 24 hours and 36 hours). Each treatment produced lower caffeine levels compared to the control. Before the fermentation process, the caffeine content was 2.134% in the raw material, but after the enzymatic process there was a significant decrease, starting from 1.295% in chayote juice to 1.411% in pineapple juice. The higher the concentration of the juice used, the lower the caffeine content of the coffee beans. The results showed that the longer the soaking time affected the decrease in caffeine content, protein content, and fat content but increased the water content and taste value of the coffee beans.
