    No full text
The research, entitled "Analysis of the Editing Limits of the General Election Participants' Selfies on Newspaper (within a study on Political and Communication Ethics)," discusses the general election candidates' photo manipulation on newspaper within the context of political and communication ethics. Photos on newspaper are a strategic visual media that has to honestly and objectively reflect the candidates' identity. Excessive manipulation erodes the principles of honesty, transparency, and justice in democracy. The research applies critical paradigm using qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with photographer, academician, senior journalist, former head of regional General Election Committee, and communication experts. The results of the research emphasizes that photos on newspaper are to be considered a journalistic product that is subject to the visual honesty principle. Editing is only allowed for minor adjustment such as lighting or composition, without changing the candidates' identities. The photos are obligated to comply with distinct visual standards related to facial proportions, positions, backgrounds, and lightings. Recommendations comprise development of the regulations on editing standard, establishment of special working unit, and guidance to candidate photo uniformity. This guidance consists of firm photo verification process, cultural flexibility, and monitoring over modern editing technology such as Al in order to maintain visual honesty. Implementation of this guidance will help ensure that the candidates' photos represent their original identities, support healthy political participants, and strengthen ethical and transparent democracy.456 PagesDisertasi Dokto

Revocation of Deed of Gift Issued by a PPAT Due To Heir's Disapproval (A Study on the Verdict of Medan High Religious Court No. 112/Pdt.G/2019/PTA.Mdn)

    No full text
A gift is something which is given for free; it is intended to be the solution in distributing inheritance so that there will be no conflict in practicing it. In reality, however, a gift is not the best solution because there are many disputes about the revocation of deed of gift as what happens in the Verdict of the Medan PTA (High Religious Court) No. 112/Pdt.G/2019/PTA.Mdn because a gift is a joint property and given by the parents to one of their children without any approval from the other heirs. The result is that it causes a conflict among the heirs since they think that it is not fair. This research uses juridical normative research method with descriptive analytic approach. The data consists of secondary data, obtained from primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. They are gathered by conducting library research and interviews. The gathered data are analyzed by using qualitative analytical method. The result of the research suggests that the revocation of the deed of gift happens because there is a regulation which has been violated - the gift is more than 1/3 of the property. In making the deed of gift, a PPAT is responsible for it. He is required to understand the regulations on distribution of a gift, let alone if the heirs and the testators are Moslems. He has to know how to distribute a gift in the KHI (Compilation of the Islamic Laws), and he has to apply the Principle of Prudence in making Deeds of Gift in order to avoid conflicts. The conclusion is that the Deed of Gift No. 184/Binjai Kota/2004 issued by PPAT in the Verdict of Medan PTA No. 112/Pdt.G/2019/PTA.Mdn does not have any legal force because the deed of gift has violated the Islamic Sharia specified in Article 210 of KHI in which it is more than 1/3 of the testator's property and the distribution of inheritance does not have any approval from the heirs. The consequence is that the receiver loses his right on the gift. The panel of judges' decision causes the status of the land and the building becomes the joint property again. The panel of judges' decision in this Verdict has applied the Principle of Prudence for the whole party since the judges do not side with any parties in the litigation, and they recognize the equality of rights and obligations of both parties. Legal Protection For Land Rights Buyers In Sale And Purchase Deeds And Transfer Of Rights Issued By Notaries (Study Of The Supreme Court Of The Republic Of Indonesia Decision Number 3059 K/Pdt/2020)

    No full text
Land is a fundamental human necessity that frequently leads to disputes, often arising from legal relationships between individuals and land. Based on Law No. 2 of 2014 amending Law No. 30 of 2004 concerning Notary Positions, parties involved in notarial deeds are entitled to legal certainty. However, in this study’s case, the buyer listed in the notarial deed did not receive legal protection or fulfillment of rights, despite meeting their obligations under the deed’s terms. This analysis examines the evidentiary nature of sale and purchase deeds and land rights transfers executed by notaries, the validity of unregistered land sale transactions based on the Supreme Court of Indonesia Decision No. 3059 K/Pdt/2020, and the legal protection afforded to land rights buyers under similar circumstances. The research employs a prescriptive approach using normative juridical methods. Secondary legal materials are used as data sources, with data collection conducted through library research. Data analysis follows a qualitative methodology based on deductive reasoning. The findings reveal that legal protection for buyers includes inserting protective clauses in the notarial deed, such as guarantees that the property is free from disputes and authorizing the buyer to register the land rights. Additionally, buyers can file a breach of contract lawsuit against sellers who fail to fulfill their obligations. The study concludes that the sale and purchase deed and land rights transfer deed created by the notary failed to meet the subjective elements required for a valid agreement under Article 1320 of the Indonesian Civil Code. Furthermore, the seller was deemed legally incompetent to conduct the sale, rendering the legal act void under Article 1471 of the Civil Code. Given the buyer’s resulting losses, legal protection should be enhanced. Notaries must exercise due diligence in verifying the authenticity of parties’ data in accordance with applicable regulations to achieve justice, legal certainty, and utility in every notarial deed.168 PagesTesis Magiste

Signcryption Using the AA-Beta (AAβ) Public Key Encryption Algorithm with the Lalem–Laould–Kara–Alkhalidi–Eleyan (LLKAKE) Scheme

    No full text
In the digital era, message exchange security faces significant challenges due to risks of hacking, eavesdropping, and modification by unauthorized parties. To address this issue, cryptography plays an important role in maintaining message confidentiality, authentication, and integrity. This research proposes the implementation of signcryption technique using AA-Beta (AAβ) Public Key Encryption algorithm combined with Digital Signature scheme – Lalem – Louid – Kara - Alkhalidi - Eleyan (LLKAKE) to enhance digital communication security. By applying the encrypt-then- sign method, this system ensures messages remain confidential, authenticated, and intact. The system is developed using Python and designed for .docx text files. Testing conducted on text sizes ranging from 10 to 2000 characters demonstrates high efficiency with average times of 0.018098 seconds for encrypt-then-sign and 0.047312 seconds for verify-then-decrypt. To test system resilience, two types of brute-force attacks were performed: conventional factorization algorithm and Kraitchik algorithm. With the conventional factorization algorithm, the required time increases drastically from 0.000054 seconds for 10-bit numbers to 53.210127 seconds for 30-bit numbers. 35-bit numbers could not be solved within 3600 seconds. The Kraitchik algorithm shows similar results with times of 0.000511 seconds for 10- bit, 0.010830 seconds for 15-bit, 0.270859 seconds for 20-bit, and 5.366103 seconds for 25-bit numbers. 30-bit and 35-bit numbers also remained unsolved within the 3600-second time limit. Test results show that the longer the bit length of numbers, the more difficult and time-consuming it becomes to break them. Although the Kraitchik algorithm is theoretically faster than the conventional algorithm, it still requires very long processing times for large numbers. This proves that the developed system is secure against various types of factorization attacks and can be relied upon to secure digital communications110 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

Ability of Hydrochar from Palm Fronds Activated with Phosphoric Acid (H3po4) as Adsorbent for Glycerol Purification

    No full text
Crude glycerol is obtained as a by-product of the biodiesel production process in an impure state and contains many impurities, so it needs to be purified. Glycerol purification can be achieved by neutralization and adsorption processes using activated carbon. Palm fronds contain high levels of cellulose lignin and can be used as activated carbon. Hydrothermal carbonization is a rapid combustion method in which biomass and water are introduced under high temperature and pressure conditions. This study aims to evaluate the ability of hydrochar from phosphoric acid-activated palm fronds and to analyze the effect of temperature, time and water to biomass weight ratio on glycerol purification. The stages of this research consisted of experimental design, preparation of raw materials, hydrothermal carbonization process, determination of iodine absorbency, analysis of hydrochar products, characterization of hydrochar texture and surface, neutralization and adsorption procedures of crude glycerol, determination of glycerol content by titrimetry and using GC-MS equipment, analysis of glycerol purity and color analysis of glycerol. Hydrochar was prepared with process temperature variations of 160 oC, 180 oC, 200 oC and 220 oC, process time of 20, 40, 60 and 80 minutes and biomass: water ratio of 1:6, 1:8, 1:10 and 1:12. The adsorption process was carried out with adsorbent mass variation (m/v) of 1%, 2%, 3% and 4%. The results showed that the adsorbent variation at a process temperature of 220 oC for 80 minutes with a biomass: water ratio of 1:10 had the highest iodine number value of 980.68 mg/g. The highest glycerol content was 92.50% with 4% adsorbent mass variation. Color analysis of the best glycerol showed a yellow parameter value that decreased from 70 to 2 on the scale at 4% adsorbent mass variation.104 PagesTesis Magiste
