Physicochemical Content Test of Cascara Tea Using Sun-dried, Oven, and Hybrid Methods
As global coffee demand increases, the coffee pulp waste also increases,
considering that 45% of the coffee cherry consist of the pulp. This study utilized
coffee pulp waste with different processing methods (full-wash and natural) to
produce Cascara tea. This treatment was expected to produce different
physicochemical characteristics of the Cascara tea. This study aimed to produce
and analyze the quality of Cascara tea using sun-dried, oven and hybrid drying
methods. Several parameters such as drying time, water content, pH, yield, color,
aroma, and taste were measured to analyze the quality and acceptance of the
panelists of the resulting Cascara tea. The data were then processed using the
statistical method of 2 factorial completely randomized design. This study used 40
consumer panelists. The results showed that the best drying time and moisture
content were obtained using the oven drying method, with 20 hours of drying at
60°C resulted moisture content of 6.6% and a lower pH compared to the other
drying methods. Furthermore, the highest panelist acceptance of color and flavor
parameters was also achieved with the oven drying method. Furthermore, oven
drying also showed the highest yield content for fullwash cascara. However,
unlike the natural processing, the highest yield content showed by the hybrid
method. Similarly, for aroma parameters, the sundried and hybrid drying methods
showed higher values and were significantly different from the oven method.
Therefore, the oven drying produced a higher quality cascara tea, and for certain
cascara tea processing methods, adjusting the drying time is important to be
considered to obtain the high-quality cascara tea.73 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
The Influence of Augmented Reality Virtual Try On and Electronic Word of Mouth on Purchase Decision of Maybelline Lip Products (A Study on Students at Public Universities in Medan City)
The development of digital technology has changed the way consumers interact with products, including in the cosmetics industry. eatures such as Augmented Reality Virtual Try On are now widely used to create interactive shopping experiences, allowing consumers to try products virtually without direct
physical contact, while Electronic Word of Mouth plays a key role in shaping purchase decisions through online reviews and testimonials from fellow users. However, despite the use of these technologies, global brands such as Maybelline have reported lower sales compared to local brands that do not employ similar features. This suggests that advanced marketing technologies do not necessarily guarantee success in influencing consumer behavior.
This research is intended to analyze how Augmented Reality Virtual Try On and Electronic Word of Mouth affect the purchasing decision of Maybelline lip products, especially among students at public universities in Medan City. Students
were chosen as research objects because they are active consumers who are responsive to technology and digital trends.
The form of research used in this study is a quantitative method with an associative approach. The data was collected by distributing questionnaires to 96 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. The method of data analysis used in this research includes multiple linear regression analysis to examine both partial and simultaneous effects between variables.
The results of this research indicate that Augmented Reality and Electronic Word of Mouth have a positive and significant influence on purchasing decisions, either partially or simultaneously. The Augmented Reality variable has the most
dominant influence, and together, both variables explain 57,5% of the variation in purchasing decisions. These findings emphasize the importance of digital marketing in shaping modern consumer behavior.155 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
The Role of Tiered Reading Books on Reading Interests of Upper Grade Elementary School Students in Medan City
The low reading interest of elementary school students is a challenge in efforts to improve the quality of education. Tiered reading books are seen as a potential solution to foster reading interest. This study aims to determine a role of tiered reading books on the reading interest of upper elementary school students in Medan City. This study involved 79 students selected by purposive sampling. The research instrument used was a tiered reading book assessment rubric based on the regulations of the Head of the Curriculum Standards and Education Assessment Agency (2022) and a reading interest scale based on the theory of Schunk et al. (2014). The simple linear regression test shows a significant role, namely (p = 0.003 > 0.05) and the calculated t value is greater than the t table (3.059 > 1.991), but the regression coefficient is negative (-0.702) which shows that the use of tiered reading books has a negative impact on students' reading interest.113 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
Factors Inhibiting the Welfare of Rice Farmers in Tomok Village, Simanindo Subdistrict, Samosir Regency
The purpose of this research is to identify the factors that hinder the welfare of farmers in Tomok Village, Simanindo Subdistrict, Samosir Regency. The population in this study consists of rice farmers. The sampling method used was simple random sampling involving three (3) farmers, as well as several sources related to external factors. The data obtained in this study were analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The inhibiting factors affecting the welfare of rice farmers in Sangia Makmur Village are the number of family members, land area, and capital loans, all of which have a significant correlation with welfare. Based on the discussion of the relationship between the inhibiting factors and the welfare of rice farmers in Tomok Village, it can be concluded that the welfare of rice farmers in this village is generally at the poverty line. However, some farmers still face challenges such as a high number of dependents, capital loans, and limited land area. The relationship between the inhibiting factors and the welfare of rice farmers in Tomok Village indicates that internal factors such as the number of dependents, level of education, productive age, and the selling price of harvests affect the livelihood and welfare of rice farmers. Likewise, external factors such as agricultural extension support (PPL) and assistance from the village head influence the advocacy and implementation of farming practices in Tomok Village.112 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
Determinants Of Occupational Safety Culture At PT Bridgestone Sumatra Rubber Estate In 2024
Work accidents are a serious problem that can result in losses for both workers and
companies, including at PT Bridgestone Sumatra Rubber Estate. An effective work
safety culture is needed to minimize risks and ensure optimal work productivity.
This study aims to analyze the factors that influence work safety in field workers at
PT Bridgestone Sumatra Rubber Estate. The study used a quantitative design with
the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method and
involved 244 workers selected using proportional stratification from a population
of 623 workers. Data were collected using a Likert scale-based questionnaire that
had been tested for validity and reliability. Factors such as management
commitment, employee perception, implementation safety, participation safety,
emergency response, and information culture, reporting, learning, and damnation
have a significant influence on work safety culture. The results showed that safety
climate and safety behavior had an influence of 52.4% while the remaining 47.6%
was influenced by other factors. A good work safety culture can reduce the number
of work accidents and increase operational efficiency. The implementation of an
effective work safety culture requires management support, worker involvement,
and strengthening the dimensions of safety culture. Recommendations are given to

The Effect of Marinating Combination of Pineapple Steam Juice (Ananas comosus) and Papaya leave juice (Carica papaya L) on the Chemical Properties of Muscovy Duck Meat
This study aims to determine the effect of a combination of pineapple (Ananas
comosus) and papaya (Carica papaya L.) leaf juices on the chemical properties of
cuckoo meat (Chairina moschata), especially water content, fat content, and
protein content. Pineapple pith is known to contain the enzyme bromelain, while
papaya leaves contain the enzyme papain, both of which are protease enzymes that
function as protein bond breakers. Duck meat is an important source of animal
protein, so testing the moisture, protein and fat content is needed to determine the
nutritional value and quality of the meat. This research is expected to improve the
quality of entok meat through a natural marination process. The research was
conducted at the Production Laboratory of the Animal Husbandry Study Program
and the Medan Industrial Research and Standardization Center during FebruaryMarch 2024. The materials used included breast meat of male ducks, pineapple
stem juice, and papaya leaf juice. Chemical laboratory equipment was used to
analyze water, fat, and protein content. The research design used was a completely
randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments (P0: no marination, P1: 25%
pineapple + 75% papaya, P2: 50% pineapple + 50% papaya, and P3: 75%
pineapple + 25% papaya) and 5 replicates. The results showed that the
combination of pineapple and papaya leaf juice marination significantly affected
the chemical properties of duck meat. The best treatment was obtained in the
combination. Thus, the use of a combination of pineapple pith juice and papaya
leaves as a marinade ingredient can be a natural alternative to improve the quality
of eel meat so that it is more acceptable to consumers.Based on the results of the

The Effect of Altitude on the Characteristics of Arabica Coffee Fruits and Beans (Coffea arabica L.) in Siborong-borong District, North Tapanuli Regency
Coffee is one of the leading commodities in the plantation sector in
Indonesia. The third highest coffee production is in North Sumatra Province, with
the highest distribution found in North Tapanuli Regency. Siborong-borong district
is located at an altitude of 1100-1500 meters above sea level. The altitude of the
place has a great influence on the size of the Arabica coffee fruits and beans. This
study aims to determine the effect of altitude on Arabica coffee fruit and beans in
Siborong-borong district based on altitude. This research was conducted from July
2024 to December 2024. On each land, 10 samples of Arabica coffee fruit were
taken with purposive sampling technique, then the fruit samples were measured
using a caliper and analytical scales. The measurement results were analyzed with
a simple linear regression equation using SPSS v.27 software.
The results of the study indicates that there was a significant effect of
altitude on the parameters of fruit diameter, fruit length, bean diameter, bean length
and dry bean weight. While there was no significant effect of altitude on the
parameters of fruit skin thickness, fruit pulp thickness, bean mesocarp thickness,

Circulation Services at the Regional Library of Serdang Bedagai Regency
The circulation service is one of the core components in library operations, playing
a vital role in supporting users' information needs through borrowing and returning
library materials. The Regional Library of Serdang Bedagai Regency offers a range
of circulation services aimed at facilitating and streamlining the processes of
borrowing, returning, and renewing library items. These services are designed to
ensure efficient access to information and optimal utilization of the library’s
collection by all users. This study aims to examine the circulation services provided
at the Regional Library of Serdang Bedagai Regency. A qualitative descriptive
method was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews,
literature review, and documentation. The findings indicate that the circulation
services at the library encompass four main activities: membership registration,
borrowing of materials, returning of materials, and overdue collection follow-up.
However, these services are still conducted manually due to the ongoing
maintenance of the INLISLite application. The study concludes that library
membership registration requires users to present valid identification, such as a
national ID card, and reside in Serdang Bedagai Regency. Members are allowed to
borrow a maximum of two items for a loan period of two weeks. Returned materials
must be submitted to the librarian for inspection. In cases of overdue returns, the
library contacts users via telephone or written notice. Nevertheless, no fines or

The Relationship Between Medical Check Up (MCU) Service Quality and Patients Satisfaction at Prof. dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Teaching Hospital in 2025
In order to improve the highest degree of public health, an early disease prevention effort is needed through medical check up examinations to monitor health conditions regularly and support preventive health programs At the Prof. dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Teaching Hospital, patient dissatisfaction with the medical check up services was found. Therefore, an effort to assess patient satisfaction is necessary. The better the quality of service provided, the higher the level of patient satisfaction. This study aims to determine the relationship between the quality of medical check up services and patient satisfaction at Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Teaching Hospital in 2025. The research method is quantitative analytic with a cross sectional design approach. The research population consists of medical check up patients in April 2025, totaling 127 patients. The sample was taken using purposive sampling technique with a total of 35 pasients. The research was conducted using chi square test analysis, which showed results indicating a relationship between physical evidence (tangible) p-value > 0,214, reliability (reliability) p-value 0,328, empathy (empathy) p-value < 0,001 with patient satisfaction. The conclusion of the study is that there is a relationship between the quality of medical check up (MCU) services in the dimensions of reliability, responsiveness and empathy with patient satisfaction. Suggestions for the Hospital Director to evaluate and improve the medical check up services in the three dimensions that most related factor to patient satisfaction, for medical check up staff to be friendly, responsive without differentiating based on patients' backgrounds, status, or conditions.122 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
The Effect of Liquid Organic Fertilizer Paitan (Tithonia diversifolia) and Biosaka on the Growth and Production of Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) Plants
Shallot is a superior vegetable commodity cultivated intensively by farmers. Farmers' interest in shallot cultivation is high; however, the increase in the supply of organic shallot production remains limited. The continuous and inefficient use of chemical fertilizers can lead to soil degradation and a decline in the quality of shallot production. Therefore, it is recommended to use organic fertilizers that can improve soil quality and produce organic shallot products. This study aimed to determine the effect of Paitan liquid organic fertilizer and Biosaka on the growth and yield of shallot plants. The study was conducted at Gang Kenanga 2, Jamin Ginting Street km 11.5, Medan Tuntungan Subdistrict, Medan City, North Sumatra, from January to March 2025, using a Randomized Complite Block Design (RCBD) with two factors. Factor 1 was Paitan liquid organic fertilizer (P) (0; 200; 400; 600
ml/polybag). Factor 2 was Biosaka concentration (B) (0; 1.3; 2.6; 4 ml/L of water). The results showed that the application of Paitan liquid organic fertilizer significantly affected all observed parameters except the harvest index and relative growth rate of shallot plants, with the best results obtained at 600 ml/polybag. The application of Biosaka did not significantly affect all observed parameters except for plant height at 3 weeks after planting (WAP) and the number of tillers at 3-4 WAP. The interaction between Paitan liquid organic fertilizer and Biosaka did not significantly affect any observed parameters.111 pagesSkripsi Sarjan
