Enhancement of Red Spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.) Growth under Different Salinity Stress Conditions through the Application of ACC Deaminase Producing Bacteria and Organic Amendments
Salinity is a major abiotic stress that induces the accumulation of aminocyclopropane carboxylic acid (ACC) which can inhibit plant growth. This study aimed to investigate the effect of applying ACC deaminase producing bacteria and organic amendments on the growth of red spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.) under different salinity stress conditions. The research was conducted in a greenhouse and analyzed at the Soil Chemistry and Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara and the Agricultural Instrument Standardization Agency (BSIP) Laboratory in Medan, from August to December 2024. This study employed a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three treatment factors and two replications. The first factor involved four treatments of ACC-deaminase-producing bacterial isolates: no bacterial application (A0), Bacillus cereus (A1), Priestia flexa (A2), and Achromobacter xylosoxidans (A3). The second factor involved three organic amendment treatments: no organic amendment application (M0), rice straw compost at 30 tons/ha (M1), and rice straw biochar at 30 tons/ha (M2). The third factor was soil salinity level, consisting of two treatments: moderate salinity (S1) and high salinity (S2). The results showed that the application of ACC-deaminase-producing bacteria significantly influenced plant height, leaf number, stem diameter, microbial population, and soil respiration, with Achromobacter xylosoxidans exhibiting the best treatment. The application of organic amendments significantly affected plant height, leaf number, stem diameter, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, soil electrical conductivity, soil pH, and microbial population, with rice straw biochar providing the best treatment. The combination of bacterial application and organic amendments resulted in the best growth of red spinach plants when Bacillus cereus and rice straw biochar were combined.125 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
The Quality of Service of the Food Security Office in the Affordable Food Movement (GPM) Program in Deli Serdang Regency
This research is motivated by the suboptimal quality of public service in the implementation of the Cheap Food Movement Program (GPM), particularly in Deli Serdang Regency. Although Deli Serdang Regency is one of the regions with a rice surplus in North Sumatra Province, the GPM program is still implemented to maintain food price stability and control inflation, especially ahead of National Religious Holidays (HBKN). However, in its implementation, various issues were found such as the inconsistency in rice distribution, lack of information to the public, and long waiting times for realization, which indicate weaknesses in service quality.
This study aims to analyze the quality of public services provided by the Deli Serdang Regency Food Security Office in the implementation of the GPM Program based on five service quality indicators according to Fitzsimmons, namely: reliability, tangibles, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy (Fitzsimmons in Nashuddin, 2016:132). The approach used is a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, using purposive sampling to determine informants consisting of officials from the Food Security Office, village officials, and the program's beneficiary community. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.
The research results show that the quality of service in the implementation of GPM has not been optimal. The reliability indicator is still weak because the distribution of rice does not meet demand and the implementation time is limited. The tangibles indicator shows a lack of information facilities and socialization media. The responsiveness indicator is also not optimal because the administration and distribution processes are slow. On the other hand, the assurance and empathy indicators are rated well; the officers provide polite service, prices are communicated openly, and there is attention to the community's condition during food price surges. In conclusion, the GPM program in Deli Serdang needs improvements in the aspects of reliability, responsiveness, and public communication to achieve effective and equitable public service.175 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
Profanity Detection on Social Media Using IndoBERT and TextCNN
The high internet penetration rate in Indonesia, which reaches 79.5% of the population, has brought about positive impacts, but also various negative impacts, especially for children. Although Indonesians are known to be friendly in person, Microsoft's 2021 Digital Civility Index report shows that the level of digital civility among Indonesian netizens is very low in the virtual world, even the lowest in Southeast Asia. This online behavior and use of coarse language can have a detrimental effect on users' mental health, especially children. Although every social media platform has a minimum age requirement for its users, many children falsify their birth year to create accounts, even though they are not yet old enough. Currently, the government has initiated the Internet Sehat dan Aman (INSAN) program, aimed at creating a healthy online environment. However, the program is still ineffective, and technology-based solutions are still needed. To address this challenge, this study aims to develop a system that combines the IndoBERT and TextCNN algorithms to identify profanity on social media and replace profane words with the character “*” to minimize children's exposure to profanity. The system successfully identified and censored profanity—replacing it with the ‘*’ character—validated through testing with excellent performance, including 97.8% accuracy. The model was implemented using FlaskAPI to connect the website interface and Chrome extension with the model.70 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

Molecular Identification and Genetic Diversity of Sargassum sp. in Tapanuli Tengah Waters
Seaweed is one of Indonesia's leading commodities with high economic
value and ecological benefits. Sargassum sp., as part of the brown algae group, is
widely found in Indonesian waters, including in Tapanuli Tengah Waters.
However, the identification of Sargassum species in this region is generally still
limited morphologically. This study aims to identify Sargassum species
molecularly and determine their genetic diversity through phylogenetic analysis.
Samples were collected from three locations namely Pane Island, Pandaratan
Beach, and Batu Gajah Beach. Identification was carried out using DNA
barcoding method with ITS2 marker and bioinformatics analysis through BLAST
and MEGA XI software. The identification results showed that all samples
belonged to the Sargassum polycystum species. Although only one species was
found, phylogenetic analysis showed haplotype differences between samples,
which were reflected in the genetic distance values and branches on the
phylogenetic tree. This finding indicates the existence of intraspecific genetic
variation in Sargassum polycystum populations in the region. This research is
expected to enrich the molecular information of seaweed in Indonesia and become
the basis for utilization of marine biological resources.100 pagesSkripsi Sarjan
