Analysis Of Farmers' Dependence on Subsidized Fertilizers (Study of the Tesalonika Farmer Group in Sirisirisi Village, Doloksanggul District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency)
Farmers' dependence on subsidized fertilizer is a growing phenomenon in Indonesia, including in Sirisirisi village. Fertilizer is a pillar of agricultural productivity because it isore affordable than non-subsidized fertilizer. This study aims to analyze the factors that lead to farmers' dependence on subsidized fertilizer in the Tesalonika Farmers Group in Sirisirisi Village, Doloksanggul District, Humban Hasundutan Regency. This study adopted a qualitative descriptive approach and employed data collection methods through observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants for this study were the village independent agricultural extension worker (PPS), members of the Tesalonika Farmers Group, and the advisor of the Tesalonika Farmers Group. The results of this study show that the factors that lead to farmers' fertilizer dependence consist of two aspects: economic factors and social factors. First, economic factors include farmers' low income, high agricultural production costs, fluctuations in crop prices, and attachment to subsistence agriculture. Second, social factors include the existence of mutual relations among group members and the existence of collective habits that create a pattern of dependence on government assistance.150 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
Preparation of Modified Cassava Starch Based Edible Coating with The Addition of Chitosan and Aloe Vera to Maintain Tomato Quality
Cassava starch is an abundant natural biopolymer with great potential as a
base material for edible coatings due to its transparent appearance, odorless nature,
and film-forming ability. However, native cassava starch has limited applicability and
thus requires modification. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a modified
cassava starch-based edible coating enriched with chitosan and aloe vera in
preserving the quality of tomatoes during storage. The modified starch was obtained
through a 3-day fermentation process using tapai yeast, resulting in starch with a
moisture content of 10.16%, ash content of 0.56%, and protein content of 3.8%. The
edible coating was formulated using cassava starch concentrations of 3%, 4%, and
5%, combined with 2% chitosan and aloe vera (in a 1:2 ratio), and 2 mL of glycerol.
The coating solutions had a pH ranging from 4.80 to 5.47, viscosity between 2753–
3792 cP, and water vapor permeability ranging from 0.0663 to 0.0358 g/m²/hour. After
12 days of storage, tomatoes coated with the 5% starch formulation demonstrated the
best performance: the lowest weight loss (4.84%), the highest vitamin C content (16.72
mg/100g), titratable acidity (0.262 g/100g), total soluble solids (TSS) of 4 °Brix,
moisture content of 91.49%, and stable organoleptic scores (aroma: 3.3; color: 3.5;
texture: 3.4). These results indicate that the modified cassava starch-based edible
coating is effective in naturally extending shelf life and maintaining the quality of
tomatoes.112 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

This study aims to examine the relationship between local government financial performance and the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs) in education in Serdang Bedagai Regency during 2021-2023. The 4th SDGs goal, quality education, is measured through four indicators: Human Development Index (IPM), Average Years of Schooling (RLS), Expected Years of Schooling (HLS), and School Enrollment Rate (APS). This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach with secondary data sourced from the Budget Realization Report (LRA) and the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). Five ratios were used to assess local financial performance, namely the ratio of independence, effectiveness, efficiency, capital expenditure and PAD growth. The results showed that despite an increase in the education budget, the achievement of several education indicators has not shown optimal changes. This reflects that local financial management still needs improvement in order to better support the development of education in an equitable and sustainable manner.76 PagesKertas Karya Diplom
Management of Nursing Care and Services for the Prevention of Pressure Ulcers in Stroke Patients in Ward RA 1 H Adam Malik General Hospital Medan
Stroke is a condition that occurs when the blood supply to the brain is disrupted or when there is bleeding in the brain tissue, resulting in loss of brain function. The incidence of pressure ulcers among stroke patients is notably high, particularly in patients develop pressure ulcers during hospitalization. This nursing care intervention aims to reduce the risk level of pressure ulcers in stroke patients through scheduled right and left lateral positioning, monitoring of skin integrity, and the application of olive oil. The method involved a nursing care approach for three stroke patients. The intervention was conducted over a two-week period from june 10 tu june 21 2025, and included assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The implementation was carried out for three consevutive days, involving repositioning the patient to the right and left sides every two hours, observing skin integrity, and applying olive oil twice daily (morning and evening) for 20 minutes. Patient and family education on pressure ulcer prevention, skin assessment, and proper application of olive oil was also provided. The results showed a decrease of 1-2 points in pressure ulcer risk scores in all three patients from day one to day three. These findings are consistent with previous studies indicating that two-hourly repositioning, skin observation, and olive oil application can effectively prevent and reduce the risk of pressure ulcers in stroke patients. This practicum demonstrates a simple, non-pharmacological, and cost-effective nursing intervention, which may also be optimized by adjusting repositioning frequency to every one or three hours for comparative evaluation of effectiveness.106 PagesKarya Tulis Profes

The Impact of Globalization on Local Organizations in Lingkar Tuk-tuk, Simanindo Subdistrict, Samosir Regency, North Sumatra
This study investigates the influence of globalization on local organizations in
Lingkar Tuk-tuk, a culturally rich area within the Simanindo Subdistrict of
Samosir Regency. It focuses on how various community actors—ranging from
government representatives and traditional leaders to both older and younger
generations—respond to the challenges and opportunities brought about by
globalization. The research particularly examines efforts to mitigate its negative
impacts on social, cultural, and economic life.
Adopting a qualitative methodology with an ethnographic approach, the study is
grounded in the globalization theories of Anthony Giddens and Thomas L.
Friedman. These frameworks provide the conceptual lens through which the
dynamics of local adaptation and resistance are analyzed. Data were collected
through in-depth observation, purposive informant selection, literature review,
interviews, and documentation.
Findings reveal that globalization has produced both constructive and detrimental
effects on the local community. However, the study also uncovers a lack of
coordinated strategies to manage these changes effectively. Miscommunication
among stakeholders has often led to unintended consequences, particularly those
that erode local values and traditions.
This research aspires to serve as a reference for policymakers, community leaders,
and cultural advocates in developing more inclusive and responsive strategies to
harness the benefits of globalization while safeguarding local identity. It
underscores the vital role of local organizations as custodians of regional heritage
and as key agents in sustaining the social and cultural fabric of the community.156 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
Control of Postharvest Anthracnose Disease (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides) on Guava Fruit (Psidium guajava) Using Natural Coatings (Edible Coating)
Post-harvest damage to climacteric fruit such as guava (Psidium guajava), apart from being caused by metabolism, can be caused by pathogen infection caused by C. gloeosporioides. The use of natural coatings with plant extracts does not cause negative effects on the environment. This research aims to compare the effectiveness of various plant extracts as natural coatings against the cause of anthracnose (C. gloeosporioides) and determine the shelf life of guava fruit. This study used a Completely Randomized Non-Factoral Design with 8 treatments, namely negative control (K-), positive control (K+), aloe vera extract treatment (P1), andaliman extract treatment (P2), guava leaf extract treatment (P3), treatment chitosan (P4), D'flava treatment (P5), and fungicide treatment (P6). The results of the study showed that in the in vitro test, andaliman treatment was the best treatment with a growth area of 4.34 cm2 and the effectiveness of the plant extract was 66.50% with a strong category. Meanwhile, in the in vivo test, from observations of the effectiveness of plant extracts, none showed an effective category. The ability of the extract to coat the fruit and its interaction with the tested microorganisms is thought to be less effective. The best incubation period observation was found in the chitosan treatment with a value of 11.78 hsi, an increase of 3 days when compared to the positive control treatment (+). In observing fruit freshness, andaliman treatment was the best treatment with an average weight loss value of 7.10 gr, disease severity of 71.11% at 18 days after planting, disease incidence of 100% at 18 days after planting and pH testing of 5.6.83 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
