    No full text
Let G=(V,E) be a simple graph with a vertex set V(G) and edge vertex E(G), let I⊆V(G). Set I is called independent domination if there is no vertices are adjacent in I and for all v∈V(G) \ I are adjacent to vertex in I. Minimum size of indepedent domination set in G called independent domination number i(G). Let C_(n_r ) be the regular catepillar graph with r central vertex and n support vertex, in addition L_(n ) (q;r) be the regular lobster graph with n backbone vertex, q hand vertex, and r finger vertex. In this research, it is shown that C_(n_r ) and L_(n ) (q;r) has a domination number and an independent domination number. The domination number of C_(n_r ) is 〖γ(C〗_(n_r ))=r. The independent domination number of C_(n_r ) for r is an even number is 〖i(C〗_(n_r ))=r/2(1+n) and for r is an odd number is 〖i(C〗_(n_r ))=((r-1)(n+1))/2+1. It has also been proven that in L_(n ) (q;r), the domination number is the same as the independent domination number of this graph, γ(L_(n ) (q;r))=i(L_(n ) (q;r))=nq.50 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    No full text
Arabica coffee is one of the most widely developed coffee types with more desirable characteristics. Cascara, which is a by-product of arabica coffee in the form of herbal tea, also has special characteristics. The study aims to evaluate the effect of processing method, drying temperature level of arabica coffee skin on the quality and organoleptic characteristics of cascara tea and determine the combination of processing method and drying temperature that produces the highest quality and organoleptic value in cascara tea. The analytical model used is a complete randomized design with DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test). Parameters observed included pH, yield, moisture content and organoleptic tests (aroma, flavor, aftertaste, appearance, texture and viscosity and overall) using untrained panelists. The results showed that the processing method and temperature had a significant effect on most of the parameters tested. Cascara tea processed using the semi wash method at 80℃ showed the lowest moisture content and the best organoleptic characteristics. Cascara tea processed by the natural method produced higher weight with high moisture content.88 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

Right Ventricular–Pulmonary Arterial Coupling Improvement as Predictor of Mortality and Rehospitalization in Patients with Acute Heart Failure with Non-Preserved Ejection Fraction at Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan

    No full text
Objective: To evaluate the improvement in right ventricular–pulmonary artery (RV–PA) coupling; measured by the tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion/pulmonary artery systolic pressure (TAPSE/PASP), during hospitalization as a predictor of mortality and rehospitalization within six months after treatment in patients with acute heart failure (AHF) with non-preserved ejection fraction (non-HFpEF) at Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan. Methods: This study was an analytical study with a retrospective cohort design involving patients with AHF non-HFpEF treated at Adam Malik General Hospital between January 2023 and January 2025. RV–PA coupling was assessed using the TAPSE/PASP ratio obtained through transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) at admission and discharge. Statistical analyses were conducted to evaluate the association between changes in the RV–PA coupling and six-month outcomes of mortality and rehospitalization post-discharge. Results: A total of 62 patients were included, predominantly 48 patients (77.4%) were male, with a mean age of 60 years. Hypertension was the most common comorbidity in 41 patients (66.1%), and 48 patients (77.4%) of subjects had a sinus rhythm. The most frequently observed AHF phenotype was acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) at 30 patients (48.4%). At follow-up, 32 patients (51.6%) experienced mortality or rehospitalization within six months after discharge. Analysis showed that increased TAPSE/PASP, with increase of TAPSE of ≥1 mm or just overall with cutoff 0.39 and 0.53, respectively, was significantly associated with lower rates of 6 months post mortality or rehospitalization. However, multivariate analysis revealed RV-PA coupling improvement as an independent factor in mortality or rehospitalization, with no significant impact of supportive therapy during hospitalization or guideline-directed medical therapy discharge on (GDMT <3 out of 4) on these outcomes. Conclusion: Improvement of RV–PA coupling during hospitalization may serve as a substantial noninvasive predictor of mortality and rehospitalization for 6 months in patients with AHF non-HFpEF. This measurement could be broadly applied in clinical practice to improve risk stratification and guide patient management.122 PagesTesis Magiste

    No full text
Limited capital, fluctuating prices of DOC (Day Old Chick), market uncertainty, and lack of farmers’ understanding of broiler chicken productivity are the main obstacles faced by farmers in Deli Serdang Regency. These conditions have encouraged many farmers to join partnership systems. The partnership system is expected to increase farmers' income through a higher success rate in production. This study aims to analyze the difference in the success rate between broiler chicken farming using the partnership system (treatment group) and the independent system (control group). Data were collected through interviews with 66 broiler chicken farmers selected using the cluster sampling method. The analytical tool used is Propensity Score Matching (PSM) with the Nearest Neighbor Matching method, supported by STATA software. The results show that the partnership system has a significant impact on the success rate of broiler chicken farming, where the average production of farms under the partnership system is 1.33% higher than that of independently operated farms.77 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

The Effect of Magnesium Chloride Administration on Orthodontic Tooth Movement Distance in Wistar Rats

    No full text
Orthodontic treatment aims to correct malocclusion through tooth movement involving alveolar bone remodeling and periodontal tissue response to mechanical forces. The prolonged duration of orthodontic treatment has led to the use of interventions to modify the rate of tooth movement, one of which is magnesium, an important mineral in bone metabolism and formation. Magnesium chloride (MgCl₂) is a highly water-soluble form of magnesium that is easily absorbed by the body. This study aims to determine the effect of magnesium chloride administration on orthodontic tooth movement distance in Wistar rats. This study is a laboratory experimental study with a post-test only control group design, using 24 Wistar rats divided into control and treatment groups. The rats were subjected to orthodontic force using coil springs, with the treatment group receiving magnesium chloride at a dose of 90 mg/kg body weight via oral administration. Observations were conducted on days 1, 3, and 7 after the application of orthodontic force using direct measurement and photography methods. The results showed that the mean of tooth movement distance in the experimental group was lower than in the control group, particularly on day 7 (direct method, p=0.043) and days 1 and 3 (photographic method, p=0.002 and p=0.001). Data analysis using ANOVA and post-hoc LSD tests revealed significant differences between the two groups (p<0.05). In conclusion, magnesium chloride has an inhibitory effect on orthodontic tooth movement in Wistar rats, as evidenced by smaller linear tooth movement distances in the experimental group compared to the control group.91 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

Honda Product Placement in the Film Deadpool & Wolverine and Its Impact on Brand Awareness among Students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences University of North Sumatra

    No full text
This study aims to determine the influence and the extent of the influence of Honda's product placement in the film Deadpool & Wolverine on brand awareness among students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at the University of North Sumatra. The increasing trend of marketing strategies through entertainment media, particularly product placement in films, serves as the background of this research. Product placement is considered a form of promotion that is non-disruptive yet effective in building brand awareness in the minds of the audience. The research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive causal research design. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 97 respondents and analyzed using simple linear regression. The results show that Honda’s product placement in the film Deadpool & Wolverine has a significant influence on brand awareness, with a contribution of 58.7%. This indicates that product placement strategies in films can shape perceptions and brand recall among students as the target audience. This research reinforces the S-O-R (Stimulus–Organism–Response) theory, where product placement (stimulus) in the film affects individual perception (organism), which then results in a response in the form of brand recognition and recall. These findings are consistent with previous studies which concluded that product placement in films can positively impact brand awareness.129 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
