WORD AND PUNCTUATION N-GRAM FEATURES IN ROMANIAN AUTHORSHIP ATTRIBUTION
This study addresses the problem of authorship attribution for Romanian texts, focusing on the use of N-gram features with an emphasis on semantic-independent representations. While character N-grams have been previously studied, this work extends the exploration to word and part-of-speech (POS) N-grams, as well as combinations involving punctuation, closed-class words, and filtered content words. Using the ROST corpus, we evaluate six supervised learning algorithms, with results aver- aged over multiple runs to ensure robustness. Our experiments show that Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) consistently achieve the highest performance, with word-based unigrams enhanced by punctuation reaching an average macro-accuracy of 0.93. Importantly, semantically independent features, such as closed-class words and POS replacements for nouns and verbs, yield small further improvements. These findings highlight the effectiveness of carefully designed N-gram features for Romanian AA and suggest that semantic-independent representations can complement traditional lexical approaches.

On implicit φ-Hilfer fractional differential equations with the p-Laplacian operator
In this paper, we establish the existence and uniqueness of solutions for a new class of nonlocal boundary implicit φ-Hilfer fractional differential equations involving the p-Laplacian operator. The existence results are derived using the topological degree method for condensing maps and the Banach contraction principle. Moreover, we investigate the Ulam-Hyers and generalized Ulam-Hyers stability of our main problem. To illustrate the applicability of our theoretical results, we provide an example.

TRAINING FUTURE TEACHERS OF MUSIC AND OF THE INTEGRATED COURSE “ART” TO CREATE ORIGINAL EDUCATIONAL MEDIA PRODUCTS
The study aimed to identify the impact of the experimental model of training future teachers of music and of the integrated course “Art” on their level of competence in creating educational media products. The study uses a set of theoretical and empirical research methods typical of the education sector. Theoretical: analysis and generalization of theoretical sources and modern international experience in distance learning and digital technologies for its organization, particularly in the field of music and arts education in general, as well as theoretical modelling; empirical: pedagogical observation, questionnaires, comparative analysis of test results before and after the implementation of the experimental model of training future teachers, expert evaluation of the quality of media products created by students, as well as the method of reflective self-analysis. Within the framework of the study, an author’s model for developing the competence of future teachers of music and of the integrated subject “Art” in creating educational media products was developed and tested. The proposed experimental model for teaching the creation of original didactic media products is a comprehensive pedagogical tool that ensures the systematic formation of professionally essential competencies in future teachers of music and of the integrated course “Art”. interdisciplinarity and a personal and professional focus in teaching. Prospects for further research include refining the criteria for evaluating educational media products, developing a typology of integrated artistic media formats, and examining their impact on student motivation in school courses for musical arts and the integrated course “Art”
LES QUERELLES DE LA VOIX : FRENCH AND ITALIAN STYLISTIC RIVALRY IN 18TH CENTURY VOCAL PRACTISES, AS REFLECTED IN WRITINGS AND TREATISES
The current paper continues the investigation begun in the previous study, which focused on vocal technique and style in 17th century treatises. The final decades of the 17th century witnessed the emergence of an aesthetic and stylistic dispute between the French and Italian traditions of music composition and singing. This rivalry extended into the 18th century, alongside the broader stylistic transformations of the period: the transition from the late Baroque style to the Classical aesthetic, passing through the elegance of the Galant style, and ultimately culminating in the pre-Romantic sensibilities of the late 18th century. This study examines the stylistic rivalry between the French and Italian traditions from the perspective of the period’s vocal practices. While the Italian singing school continued to be regarded as exemplary and worthy of imitation, 18th century debates also centered on linguistic questions: which language, Italian or French, is better suited to singing? The divergence was further intensified by the controversies surrounding opera buffa, particularly Les Querelles des Bouffons, as well as the rivalry between proponents of Gluck’s reform operas and those aligned with Piccini’s operatic approach. The Italian perspective on vocal practices is primarily reflected in the writings of Tosi and Mancini, whereas other sources — such as Quantz or Burney — offer insights from non-French and non-Italian viewpoints. As in the previous study, the authors emphasize that the historical sources cited represent only a portion of the available material, the selection having been guided by the relevance of each source to questions of vocal production
THE SOUND CONCEPT OF HOPE IN UKRAINIAN CONTEMPORARY BALLET
The concept of hope holds profound significance in Ukrainian musical art, particularly within the contemporary ballet works of modern Ukrainian composers such as Viktor Rekalo, Ivan Nebesnyi and Ivan Harkusha. Amidst the backdrop of a nation shaped by a complex contemporary narrative and ongoing socio-political and historical challenges, these composers infuse their ballet music with themes of resilience, aspiration, and hope. This research explores how hope is conveyed through musical structures, sound effects, thematic motifs, and emotional expression within a selection of contemporary ballet scores. The study delves into the intricate relationship between music and choreography, analyzing how these elements harmonize to evoke a sense of hope in the audience. Moreover, it discusses the broader cultural and historical significance of hope in Ukrainian society, emphasizing how these composers contribute to the shaping of national identity and collective memory. By illuminating the distinctive ways in which modern Ukrainian ballet serves as both an artistic expression and a form of cultural commentary, this research offers valuable insight into the power of music to inspire hope in the face of adversity
THE IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNITY MUSIC IN SOCIETY
Community music is a multifaceted phenomenon that fosters collaboration, social cohesion, and cultural expression through active music engagement within diverse communities. Community music-making is best understood as an inclusive, participatory practice that has the power to transform social dynamics within communities. The literature presents the multifaceted dimensions and potential of community music-making, showing its ability to promote not only artistic expression, but also social coherence, personal growth, and community development. This synthesis of literature underscores the potential for community music to serve as a catalyst for positive change in music education practices, focussing on communal engagement and empowerment rather than solely individual treatment
A MYSTERIOUS FORGOTTEN INSTRUMENT: THE VIOLONCELLO DA SPALLA, A CELLO FOR VIOLINISTS
As the title suggests, this article focuses on the violoncello da spalla, an instrument that fell into obscurity over the course of centuries and, since its re-emergence in the late 1990s, has been surrounded by considerable mystery. I first encountered references to this instrument in the late 2000s, through a Russian-born baroque violinist and instrument maker residing in the Netherlands. Already at that time, the instrument captured my attention due to its distinctive aesthetic qualities and unique sound. One might consider it remarkable: essentially a cello executed with violin technique—truly ingenious. In the present article, I aim to collect and synthesize the available information on this instrument. Drawing upon historical sources and illustrations, I will examine the various dimensions of period violoncelli da spalla, discuss aspects of its proper playing posture and stringing, and survey the repertoire composed specifically for it
DECONSTRUCTING CAPITALISM THROUGH MUSIC: A PERFORMER’S PERSPECTIVE ON WEILL AND BRECHT’S ”DIE SIEBEN TODSÜNDEN”
This performance-based study examines Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht’s ”Die sieben Todsünden” (1933) through dual analytical lenses: as a radical sociopolitical critique and as a virtuosic vocal challenge. The work’s unique fusion of ballet chanté form with biting capitalism satire creates a performative space where musical technique and ideological subversion intersect. By interrogating both the score’s structural innovations and its embodied demands, this article reveals how “Die sieben Todsünden” compels performers to become co-conspirators in its deconstruction of capitalist values. This article makes two significant contributions: it advances scholarly understanding of 20th-century musical theater by exposing the performative dimensions of Weill’s political critique, while simultaneously providing pragmatic solutions for contemporary singers navigating the work’s technical extremes. The included performance annotations and offer a model for reconciling virtuosic demands with ideological intentionality—a vital framework for today’s socially engaged musicians
WINE TOURISM AND SMALL TOWNS WITH (NO) DREAMS: THE CASE OF ROMANIA
The present paper investigates the point of intersection between wine tourism and urban tourism in 87 Romanian small towns. The presence of vineyards and wine-incentives represent distinctive features with the potential to become (niche) tourism attractions, therefore having the capacity to provide a competitive edge for these towns in a fierce and aggressive tourism market. For the current investigation, the research question is: do the wine-attractions related to these localities influence the tourist accommodation facilities and arrivals and therefore their position as wine tourism destinations? The research results show, with painful clarity, that the Romanian municipalities and towns related to wine-attractions do not use this differentiating feature in order to raise their profile as wine tourism destinations. Having wine-related attractions at their core, Romanian smaller urban localities could benefit from potential factors to regenerate their economic and social conditions through tourism. Most of them are presently ignoring this competitive advantage, seeming to have no dreams to become wine tourism destinations.

Adrian Costache, “Cum să nu predăm? Studii de didactica disciplinelor socio-umane”, Cluj-Napoca: Presa Universitară Clujeană, 2025, ISBN 978-606-37-2652-1
Adrian Costache’s book provides the readers, first and foremost, with different approaches, which are philosophically inspired, to better understand what pedagogy and the act of teaching is all about. His book is divided into five chapters, each representing an autonomous study on ardent problems concerning education. His overall goal is not to offer the potential teachers reading the book with a full-fledged account of how teaching should unfold, but rather, he gives certain hints towards the way in which the pedagogical methods can be strengthened and improved.
For example, and as we are going to see, he discusses the dialogue between student and teacher, the role of metaphorical analogy, the limits of certain thematizations in education science, but also, an assessment of the notion of the Cartesian method in the process of teaching. His main interest involves the so-called humanities disciplines, wherein major improvements are meant to take place, to facilitate the overall process of learning.
His approach is mainly hermeneutical, although here and there he inserts theories and notions pertaining to the phenomenological tradition in philosophy and to different approaches in pedagogy and didactics.
From the very commencement of his first study, Costache regards the question (and answer) between student and teacher to be paramount. He appeals to Gadamer’s notion of dialogue between I and Thou to describe how the process of living spoken interaction between the two actors of the educational process unpacks. Costache appeals, though critically, to the method of active participation of the student to the course, and not to his or her passivity, since he acknowledges from the very beginning that the learner in not a recipient in which the teacher pours knowledge, but rather, the student and teacher participate via dialogue into the overall process of education, each contributing to this dialogical event. Costache traces the method of dialogue to the maieutic of Socrates, wherein certain convictions were challenged by Socrates to arrive at different conclusions and to a different view upon a certain aspect of the world.
Costache then tackles the phrase of dialogue with oneself, a saying very dear to Gadamer, to point how the pedagogical process can be carried further by the student even on his or her own (outside the class), bearing always in mind the questions which we address to ourselves and the tentative answers which we can provide at a certain moment in time
