Ce urmează după neoliberalism? Pentru un imaginar politic alternativ [What Follows after Neoliberalism? For an alternative political imaginary], Sorin Gog, Victoria Stoiciu (coord.), Editura Presa Universitară Clujeană, Cluj-Napoca 2024
Perhaps the greatest merit of the volume What Follows after Neoliberalism? For an alternative political imaginary edited by Sorin Gog and Victoria Stoiciu is that it embodies the wish and project it predicates - the coagulation of support for progressive politics, reinforced by a body of expertise that challenges the neoliberal consensus. In a space where leftist ideas are ridiculed as retrograde, communist-nostalgic, and questionable, and the anti-communist ideology has flattened the space of alternatives hailing the left as a failed and expired “other” to market values, this volume and its authors signal the need to build a critique of neoliberalism from the cold, close, diligent examination of its contradictions, injustices, and violences. That such volume could still be published in an ever-fragmenting Romanian leftist space is testimony to authors’ intellectual, activist, and transgenerationally minded habitus and commitment to cultivate hope and critical knowledge. Several collective volumes published in Romanian precede it as products of earlier figurations of the left (e.g. Cistelecan and Lazăr 2010, CriticAtac 2011, Poenaru and Rogozanu 2014, Gog et al. 2021)
CHURCH ORGANS IN THE 17ᵀᴴ–18ᵀᴴ CENTURY ARCHDEACONRIES OF CSÍK AND GYERGYÓ
The organ has adorned Western Christian worship for over a millennium, though this was not always the case. It took centuries for it to become an instrument officially recognized by the Church. Today, some organs have even reached monumental proportions.2 The history of these instruments – especially from the 17th and 18th centuries – remains largely unknown in the Archdiocese of Gyulafehérvár (Alba Iulia).3 This study presents the organs of the archdiocese, focusing on those from three districts, based on archival sources and physical research methods.

„Vigyázzunk a Történetre!” Egyházi helyzetértelmezés néhány személyes és gyakorlati teológiai impulzus alapján
“Let Us Safeguard the Story!” An Interpretation of the Church Situation Based on Some Personal and Practical Theological Impulses. Our Reformed Church in Hungary and its everyday life are undergoing changes – similarly to other European churches. We have been experiencing this for a long time, and the direction of change is not very encouraging. This leads to my questions: How did we get into this situation, and how do I interpret this new situation? What challenges does the Christian church face in the context of today’s Hungarian society? In this study, on the one hand, I briefly interpret the processes that affect the life of churches/denominations, especially the Hungarian Reformed Church. On the other hand, I confront the obstacles that we ourselves have created, thereby weakening our own position. Then I look for the opportunities offered by practical theology that can lead to a renewed church life. The path of interpreting the situation and finding a way is (self-)critical, but I believe that it is necessary for the future of the Church. All of this is based on my very personal impressions and search for solutions regarding the Christian church – in this case, primarily in the context of the Reformed Church in Hungary
PHYSICOCHEMICAL INVESTIGATION OF SOME GEOTHERMAL WATERS FROM SĂLAJ COUNTY, ROMANIA
Geothermal waters solve minerals from the geological layers due to their increased temperature. These minerals affect water hardness and salinity. Therefore, thermal water samples were collected from spa pools springs in Sălaj County, Romania: Broscărie (Șimleul Silvaniei), Jibou and Boghis. The physicochemical measurement reveals that Jibou water has a higher electrical conductivity of 10580 µSi/cm, caused by the higher value of total dissolved solids (TDS) of 5264 mg/l. It is followed by the water collected from Broscărie, with an electrical conductivity of 1949 µSi/cm related to TDS of 1023 mg/l. The weaker mineralization was found in Boghis water, around 619 mg/l, corresponding to an electrical conductivity of 1200 µSi/cm. Water hardness is related to the amount of CaCO3. Boghis water is the hardest, containing 356 mg/l, followed by the samples collected from Broscărie, with 178 mg/l. The water collected from Jibou is the softest of all samples, with a CaCO3 amount of about 106.8 mg/l. The mineral distribution was assessed by mineralogical optical microscopy (MOM) and X ray diffraction (XRD). The results show that NaCl crystallized as halite is responsible for the samples’ salinity, while aragonite, magnesian calcite and calcite are the minerals which cause the water hardness. Hard thermal water containing Ca and Mg are effective for rheumatoid symptoms amelioration, while salted water is optimal for skin care
DILIGENT POLITICAL AGENCY FOR BRANDING THE ART: RUBENS AND (CULTURAL) DIPLOMACY
Peter Paul Rubens’ (1577-1640) agency as a (cultural) diplomat was characteristically interwoven not only with the extraordinarily intricate and troublesome historical and political contexts of his lifetime but also with his tremendous artistic ambitions and achievements. Considering the Flemish masters’ diligent commitment to both politics and art, the immense quantity of biographical research dedicated to Rubens has marginally enquired about the preeminence of any domain of Rubens’ engagement over the other. The present investigation attempts to find a plausible counterweight between Rubens’ assiduous activism in the worlds of art and politics, respectively, as a key of acknowledging his agency as a (cultural) diplomat. Consequently, certain insights regarding Rubens’ patriotism, the examination of his art within the intellectual tradition of Catholic humanism, and ultimately assessing the roles of diplomatic activism and artistic entrepreneurialism for branding his art could stand as persuasive arguments to illuminate on his (cultural) diplomatic agency at the puzzling crossroads between politics and art
PÉRDIDA Y SUSTITUCIÓN DE ARABISMOS EN ESPAÑOL: RECIPIENTES Y MUEBLES DE LA COCINA
Loss and substitution of Arabisms in Spanish: Kitchen Containers and furniture. With the loss of Arab political and cultural influence, many Arabisms fell out of use and were replaced by words that largely derive from Latin, through learned borrowing. An inventory of 16 terms of Arabic origin has been selected, designating containers and pieces of furniture used in medieval kitchens. The study examines the linguistic evolution of these terms over time, how they disappeared, were preserved, or were replaced by other words, based on evidence from historical Spanish dictionaries and diachronic corpora.

Local fractal functions on Orlicz-Sobolev spaces
In these notes we consider a class of iterated function systems whose attractors are the graphs of local fractal functions belonging to Orlicz and to Orlicz-Sobolev spaces. We prove that these maps are in correspondence with the fixed points of the Read-Bajraktarević operator. Our method extends a number of outcomes on the existence of local fractal functions of the Lebesgue and Sobolev classes, to more general function spaces where the role of the norm is now played by a Young function. The existence of local fractal functions of the Orlicz and of the Orlicz-Sobolev classes is demonstrated through an intermediate result. The realization of a contractive iterated function system in the (previously untreated) multidimensional case is obtained via a stronger version of the finite increments theorem. Our results somewhat show that it would be natural to extend the Read-Bajraktarević functional to other function spaces on subdomains of differentiable and real analytic manifolds. Other questions, such as the existence of fixed points in higher-orders etc., remain open as well. Our generalizations may be useful in applications.

TRANSFERABILITY IN MUSIC EDUCATION: FROM PRACTICE ROUTINES TO PERFORMANCE-BASED LEARNING AND EVALUATION ACROSS DISCIPLINES
This article explores the concept of transferability in education with a focus on the practices of music education and their application across broader learning contexts. Drawing on theories of transfer and pedagogical frameworks, it examines how strategies such as disciplined practice routines, real-time feedback, performance-based evaluation, collaborative ensemble learning, and emotional engagement can enrich general educational settings. By analyzing how music-specific methods foster motivation, resilience, and deeper understanding, the article argues for their adaptability to non-music disciplines, enhancing both academic achievement and personal development. The discussion highlights the potential of music education to serve as a model for effective teaching practices that bridge knowledge, creativity, and real-world application. The article explores the social and emotional dimensions of transferability, highlighting how collaborative music-making encourages empathy, communication, and teamwork, which are essential competencies in any learning or professional context. It argues that by intentionally leveraging these experiences, educators can create more holistic learning experiences that connect individual skill development with collective achievement. Ultimately, the article positions music education not merely as a subject-specific endeavor but as a pedagogical paradigm with far-reaching implications for designing interdisciplinary curricula that nurture both cognitive and socio-emotional growth
GREGORIAN CHANT IN THE PRACTICE OF THE SAXON UNITARIANS IN TRANSYLVANIA. PART 1
This study investigates the function and adaptation of Gregorian chant within the liturgical and musical practice of the Saxon Unitarian community of 17th-century Transylvania. Focusing on the manuscript gradual MSU 1042 (Cluj, 1622), compiled by the Saxon cantor Lorenz Budaker under the episcopate of Valentin Radecke, the research situates the source within the broader framework of post-Reformation chant transmission. Although the repertoire exhibits stylistic and textual affinities with German Lutheran and medieval Hungarian models, it also demonstrates deliberate revisions consistent with Unitarian (Antitrinitarian) theological principles. Comparative analysis with contemporary Hungarian Unitarian sources reveals a strikingly independent evolution of the Saxon repertory, underscoring the bilingual and confessional diversity of early modern Transylvanian musical culture. Despite its limited number of chant items, the MSU 1042 gradual provides unique evidence for the persistence and contextual redefinition of Gregorian idioms within a heterodox Protestant milieu
