INTERFERENCES BETWEEN TRADITION AND MODERNITY IN THE SYMPHONIC AND CONCERTO WORKS BY ADRIAN POP – (3) SOLSTICE FOR ORCHESTRA
The current study is part of a series of analytical approaches undertaken on the symphonic-concerto oeuvre of Cluj composer Adrian Pop. Following the chronological order of the works and keeping as a reference their common source of inspiration – namely the Romanian folklore –, the conclusion seeks to highlight the way in which the composer’s individuality relates to both the trends of contemporary language and the European cultured musical tradition, without attenuating the signs of the local stylistic matrix. Like the other works under analysis so far, Solstice is based on a melody taken from the Romanian local repertoire, namely that of Pomuț răzmurat, a “Carol of the Sun”. The carol’s ritualic background is linked to the most significant moment in a farmer’s life – the winter solstice – also pointing to the idea of the repeating year, a recurring theme in folklore and mythology. The coordinates of the mioritical space described by Blaga’s philosophy are also present, the undulating motion, the taste for the ornamental and picturesque, the preference for the manifestation of the organic finding their musical correspondences in parameters such as form, writing, tempo, timbre etc. Last but not least, the programmatic dimension of the ideate substratum is captured by the composer Adrian Pop with an extraordinary power of suggestion, through interferences of tradition and modernity
FROM THE AVANT-GARDE TO THE DIGITAL AGE: HOW TECHNOLOGY CHANGED THE ART OF MUSIC IN THE TWENTIETH CENTURY
The twentieth century is characterized by the rapid development of technology, including in the field of sound recording and the production of electric musical instruments. The purpose of this study is to find out what changes technological innovations have led to in the art of music, and what areas of musical art they have led to. The paper presents tables of key inventions in the field of sound recording, development of electric musical instruments and software that were key to the development and emergence of new areas of musical art. The role of electric musical instruments is considered from the standpoint of enriching the timbral palette of musical art: electronic technologies open up the possibility of generating timbres that have no analogues among acoustic instruments and thus significantly enrich the field for creative research. The role of technology in the formation of rock music, electronic dance music, algorithmic music, and the emergence of folk electronics is clarified. The author shows the sociological aspect of musical creativity, which in the XX century is characterized by the acceleration of information exchange between musicians, the expansion of the amount of musical material available for listening to users due to the possibility of their fixation on material media, and at the end of the XX century – transmission via the Internet
ARNOLD SCHÖNBERG’S PIEROT LUNAIRE AND THE AFTERMATH: FROM JIKKEN KŌBŌ TO BRUCE LABRUCE
The history of Pierrot and his reception in various artistic genres covers more than 400 years. From his minor role as a commedia dell’arte figure, Pierrot emancipated himself to become the eccentric main character, asserting himself in the visual arts, in nineteenth-centuryantomimes, in musical settings, in film, in ballet and in various genres of popular culture such as manga and anime. To evaluate the two adaptations of Schönberg’s Pierrot lunaire that are in focus here—the Japanese stage version by Jikken Kōbō (Experimental Workshop, 1955) and the film version by Bruce LaBruce, Pierrot lunaire: Butch Dandy (2014)—it is helpful to take a look at the history of their reception. Cultural-historical interdependencies and genre transgressions constantly give rise to new facets of Schönberg’s key work composed in 1912, while the question remains as to how far these adaptations serve the work or merely use it for their own purposes
IMMERSIVE TECHNOLOGIES IN ITALIAN CULTURAL TOURISM: AN EXPLORATORY ANALYSIS OF VISITOR SATISFACTION AND PREDICTIVE MODELING
This study explores the impact of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) on cultural tourism in Italy. The methodology is twofold. By analyzing visitor satisfaction through a comprehensive survey conducted across 18 museums in northern, central and southern Italy, we aim to understand the role of these technologies in enhancing the tourism experience. An agent-based simulation using NetLogo was employed to predict visitor satisfaction based on various demographic and experiential factors, utilizing monthly seasonal data from the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT).
The findings indicate that immersive technologies significantly influence visitor satisfaction, with higher levels of engagement and positive experiences reported among users familiar with AR and VR. This study highlights the potential of immersive technologies to enhance cultural tourism and provides insights for cultural institutions aiming to adopt these innovations.

Between hospitality and Foreignness: Representations of 17th–18th-Century Haban Communities in Contemporary Memoirs. The structure, beliefs, and history of the Habanic communities can be understood from the perspective of theology and history. However, what can the literary perspective tell us about this community? How are these outsider communities represented in contemporary text(s)? My study focuses on literary representations of Habanese communities of the 17th and 18th centuries, who were torn between perpetual strangeness and homeliness as they sought to find their place in the contemporary system. I will approach the concept of strangeness based on Jaques Derrida’s theory, which presents this experience from an entirely new perspective. The first focus of my analysis is the Hutterian chronicle, which presents a specific collective experience, a history. Through Derrida’s interpretation of strangeness and hospitality, we can see a particular worldview and history that can be considered unique through the alternation of external and internal perspectives. The Anabaptist chronicle presents a new perspective on the functioning and history of their communities and the difficulties, political system, and cultural particularities of being in Transylvania in the 17th century. Starting from the perspective and thematic unity of home and strangeness, it offers new interpretative perspectives for understanding and interpreting these communities, complementing the historical and theological perspectives
Ellenreformáció, felvilágosodás, állami erőkoncentráció-optimalizálás? Heinrich Kajetan Blümegen grófjának bevonása az erdélyi vallásügyek főfelügyeletébe 1763–64-ben
Counterreformation, Enlightenment or Optimization of the Concentration of State Power? Count Heinrich Kajetan von Blümegen’s Involvement in the Oversight of Religious Issues in Transylvania in 1763–1764. For specialists of Hungarica and Transylvanica research, it is of absolute importance to keep in mind that Vienna was the primary location for the Hapsburg rulers’ decision preparation and decision-making regarding issues related to Hungary and Transylvania. Accordingly, the House, Court, and State Archives (Haus-, Hof- und- Staatsarchiv), the Imperial Chamber Archives (Hofkammerarchiv), and the War Archives (Kriegsarchiv) have always been the primary base for historical research into the Hapsburg Era (from 1526 to 1918). The House, Court, and State Archives has functioned as the most important depository for court-related subjects since Kaunitz’s founding of the Council of State. Available therein are documents of mixed origin, nature, and subject matter chronicling the endeavours of the imperial cabinet. From the perspective of the uppermost political decision-making process, these documents offer the most informational value. These documents, available in original or duplicated form, primarily consist of submissions, memoirs, memoranda, drafts, negotiation documents, proposals, directives, and publications related to Hungary or Transylvania. Rich materials on Transylvania were preserved there in the past, for in contrast to the Hungarian Court Chancellery, which had been made independent in a more realistic fashion in 1690, the court administrative organ of Transylvania received regular oversight after 1711. The position of “Minister in Transylvanian Negotiations”, as it would be later called, was created in 1751. Hungarian historian and archivist Zsolt Trócsányi (1926–1987) consistently used the designation to refer to the “erdélyi miniszter”, i.e. the Minister of Transylvania. Between 1765 and 1791, Transylvania also lacked its own (that is: native, of noble rank, and with a legitimate estate in Transylvania) court chancellery. Administrative proceedings were instead led by Samuel von Brukenthal, who presided over the Transylvanian Committee and had also kept his provincial chancellery, until 1774. As early as 1763, he had worked as the antithesis of Count Gábor Bethlen regarding the three most significant and concerning issues in Transylvania: 1.) tax issues (Contributionalia), 2.) militarization of border security (Militaria), and 3.) matters taken over by the growing central authority (Currentia). Religious affairs (Religiosa) were of course not included, for Maria Theresa, who was a strict Roman Catholic, punctiliously guarded against taking her Saxon Evangelical advisor’s last word regarding the issue. However, since the freedom of the established religions made up part of the constitutionality of Transylvania, the empress could not do without Brukenthal’s expertise in this area or his Protestant political sensitivity. At the state council meeting on 10 June, 1763, Maria Theresa therefore ordered Count Heinrich Kajetan von Blümegen to go over beforehand the “Transylvanian issues” (in Transylvanicis) in a bid to forestall “argumentum ad hominem”. This assortment of issues included the most important ones – primarily concerning Greek rituals and Anabaptists, i.e. “religions tolerated in Transylvania” –, wherein General Buccow, the Supreme Commander and Governor of Transylvania, had already bypassed regular official channels and reported directly since 1761. The state minister in this regard took on the role of arbiter in the increasingly bitter Bethlen–Brukenthal duel
A spiritualitás változása lelkigondozói segítő kapcsolatokban: longitudinális hatásvizsgálat
Changes in Spirituality within Pastoral Counselling Relationships: A Longitudinal Impact Study. This publication presents an impact study among clients and counsellors of two pastoral counselling centres in Hungary (one in the countryside and one in Budapest). The aim is to explore how theistic spirituality changes during the process of pastoral counselling and how this change is associated with the resolution of the problem that precedes the claim of initiating the helping relationship. The data collection took place between 2021 and 2024, the first data collection being carried out among the prospective clients who completed an online, anonymous, and voluntary questionnaire, while after the closure of the pastoral counselling process both clients and their counsellors evaluated the process (N = 55/50). Our results show that in the vast majority of cases, there has been an improvement in the initial problems, and both the clients and the helpers strongly associate this improvement with the counselling process. In parallel, theistic spirituality (measure: TSOS-HU) also increased, mainly due to a higher score in the “Love of Self” subscale.
Conclusion: the pastoral counselling process is closely correlated with an increase in theistic spirituality, and this change cannot be explained by demographic characteristics or the focus of the request for help, but it is due to therapeutic cooperation
The diatom communities from Apuseni Mountains: a first approach on crenic diatom flora
The unique geomorphological and hydrological characteristics along with the stable abiotic parameters have shaped springs into suitable aquatic habitats for a high number of microorganisms. Increasing anthropogenic impact, such as groundwater pollution, alteration or destruction of the eucrenal spring area and high demand for pristine water, are affecting the crenic biodiversity. The present study is the first to focus on taxa belonging to the Bacillariophyta phylum and includes diatom samples taken from 30 karstic springs located in the Apuseni Mountains, Romania. Because diatoms often display distinct preferences for specific substrates, 15 samples were collected from each spring: five from each of the three substrate types (bryophytes, stones, and fine sediments) within the eucrenal area. For qualitative assessment, three mixed samples were subsequently prepared for each substrate type, resulting in a total of 99 analysed samples. A total of 216 taxa were identified in the analysed samples, with 16% found only on bryophytes and 15% occurring only on sand. Two groups of frequent taxa, distinguished by their preferred substrate type and present in at least 25 springs have been observed: Caloneis fontinalis (Grunow) A. Cleve, Cocconeis lineata Ehrenberg and Meridion circulare (Greville) C. Agardh in epibryon, followed by Gomphonema parvulum (Kützing) Kützing and Planothidium dubium (Grunow) Round & Bukhtiyarova in epipsammon; three taxa Achnanthidium minutissimum (Kützing) Czarnecki, Amphora pediculus (Kützing) Grunow and Cocconeis placentula Ehrenberg stand out as a dominant group across all three types of substrates. Moreover, in the epilithon these were the only taxa present in all samples. Microhabitat-specific richness was shaped primarily by light conditions and canopy cover, with oxygen availability contributing as a secondary factor. Gomphonema elegantissimum E. Reichardt & Lange-Bertalot and Caloneis fontinalis, along with other 13 taxa have been identified for the first time in Romania.

HERENCIA Y TRANSMISIÓN DE TÉRMINOS GASTRONÓMICOS EN HISPANOAMÉRICA
Inheritance and Transmission of Gastronomic Terms in Latin America. The present study focuses on the Latin American gastronomic field, from a lexical, etymological and cultural perspective, based on the enormous potential for exploration and development that gastronomy has, converted today into a science-art about cultures, people, places and the reciprocal influences that occur among them. We start from the idea that culinary heritage is a form of cultural communication, in which both traditions and modern hybridizations have determined enrichments, fusions and a profound change in the world\u27s food and gastronomy.
Moreover, the article aims to approach, classify and exemplify the gastronomic lexicon of the most relevant Hispanic American culinary cultures, according to the terms, inherited or transmitted, used to designate ingredients, dishes and culinary techniques. Besides, we describe several of the most used lexicographic works, pointing out some challenges, and also, a few limitations within the Hispanic lexical resources in this field. Moreover, we draw attention to a rich variety of terms, cultural and technical combination of styles for the same concept, depicted from different ancient and modern periods, with special emphasis on the pre-Columbian indigenous heritage, but without neglecting the colonial and the contemporary cultures. From Mexican and Guatemalan tamales to Peruvian or Ecuadorian ceviche, Colombian and Venezuelan arepas and Argentinean asado, Latin America demonstrates an authentic richness and diversity in its gastronomic lexicon, living sample of the stages of history, geography, fauna and flora, economy or traditions, that deserve to be inventoried and preserved as a valuable piece of the cultural heritage of humanity.
