Le livre insiste sur la façon dont les personnages des romans ont assimilé, dans leur identité propre, la « forma mentis » du siècle en question (p. 10). Ces « archétypes du jeune romantique » (p. 10) ou du héros réaliste et naturaliste sont étroitement liés aux mouvements politiques, historiques, économiques et philosophiques de l’époque. L’auteur propose une recherche approfondie sur les « paradigmes » (p. 5) qui finissent par conditionner la conformation des personnages

Get PDFSean Cotter, professor of literature and translation studies at the University of Texas at Dallas, is undoubtedly one of the most important international scholars interested in Romanian culture and literature. Dr Cotter is both a scholar with a solid background in comparative literature, proven by his Ph.D. at the University of Michigan, and a versed translator from Romanian. Up to now Dr Cotter gave excellent English equivalents to the works of important Romanian writers, such as Mateiu Caragiale, Nichita Stănescu, Magda Cârneci, or Mircea Cărtărescu. In 2014, Cotter published a monograph entitled Literary Translation and the Idea of Minor Romania at the University of Rochester Press.
Cotter’s study was translated into Romanian by Dana Bădulescu under a new and very well-chosen title: Traducerea literară şi destinul României în comunism [Literary Translation and Romania’s Destiny in Communism]. This modification facilitates the reception of this work in Romania where some readers might react negatively to a title that they could perceive as a foreign perspective imbued with some hegemonic undertones. Dana Bădulescu is professor at the Faculty of Letters of “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University in Iaşi, Romania and an experienced translator from English into Romanian. GREEN SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHOD FOR CONCURRENT ESTIMATION OF PIROXICAM AND MEFENAMIC ACID MIXTURE
Get PDFThe purpose of this work is to concurrently estimate the UV-visible spectra of binary combinations of piroxicam and mefenamic acid using the chemometric approach. To create the model, spectral data from 73 samples (with wavelengths between 200 and 400 nm) were employed. A two-layer artificial neural network model was created, with two neurons in the output layer and fourteen neurons in the hidden layer. The model was trained to simulate the concentrations and spectra of piroxicam and mefenamic acid. For piroxicam and mefenamic acid, respectively, the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm with feed-forward back-propagation learning produced root mean square errors of prediction of 0.1679 μg/mL and 0.1154 μg/mL, with coefficients of determination of 0.99730 and 0.99942, respectively. The suggested approach’s ease of use, affordability, and environmental friendliness make it a suitable replacement for the use of hazardous chemicals in the routine investigation of the selected drugs
Integrating Technology into Physical Education Curricula: A Framework for Enhancing Student Engagement

A framework is proposed for incorporating these technologies effectively into both in-class activities and out-of-class learning experiences. Through a mixed-methods research approach, this study investigates the potential of digital tools in transforming PE education, the barriers to successful integration, and the pedagogical benefits of using such technologies. The findings offer practical recommendations for educators and policymakers aiming to modernize physical education programs.

Soup Kitchens in Cluj-Napoca in 1817
Get PDFThe great famine in Transylvania between 1813 and 1817 had a great effect on the economy and society. The rising number of the starving people and the consequences of the famine demanded actions from the Transylvanian Gubernium and put the municipalities under great pressure. One of the solutions to provide food for the starving people was the Rumford soup. The paper examines the question of how the Cluj-Napoca city administration and the local population tried to curb the famine and discusses the establishment and operation of soup kitchens in Cluj-Napoca in the final year of the famine.
Rezumat: Marea foamete din Transilvania dintre anii 1813-1817 a avut urmări majore pentru economie și societate. Creșterea numărului de oameni înfometați și consecințele foametei au pretins acțiuni din partea Guberniului din Transilvania și au pus orașele sub mari presiuni. Una din soluțiile pentru asigurarea hranei oamenilor înfometați a fost „supa Rumford”. Lucrarea examinează modul în care administrația orașului Cluj-Napoca a încercat să diminueze foametea și discută crearea și modul de operare a „bucătăriilor pentru supă” în Cluj-Napoca în ultimul an al Foametei.

Get PDFThe evolution of international relations have often found religion, (geo)politics and war at a crossroads. If this is not necessarily a novelty, what gained attention within the international relation and security studies literature is a major conventional conflict on European territory between two states belonging to the same religious denomination: Eastern Orthodox Christianity. The current study seeks to identify, describe and explain the narratives of spiritual securitization in the discourse of political and religious leaders and the discourse of Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant Christian believers, towards the threat of spiritual and dogmatic values, but also of religious communities in the context of the war between Russia and Ukraine. In this regard, the research uses as data collection method the selection of documents and narrative analysis to interpret the data. The results highlighted the presence of several types of spiritual securitization processes, specifically for the analyzed religious communities.
Rezumat: Evoluția relațiilor internaționale a găsit adesea religia, (geo)politica și războiul la intersecția intereselor cercetătorilor din științele sociale. Dacă aceasta nu este neapărat o noutate, ceea ce a atras atenția în ultimii ani în rândul cercetărilor de relații internaționale și studii de securitate, este un conflict convențional major pe teritoriul european între două state aparținând aceleiași confesiuni religioase: Creștinismul Ortodox Răsăritean. Studiul de față urmărește identificarea, descrierea și explicarea narațiunilor securitizării spirituale prezente atât în discursul liderilor politici și religioși, dar și discursul credincioșilor creștini ortodocși, catolici și protestanți, față de amenințarea valorilor moral-spirituale și dogmatice, dar și a comunităților religioase, în contextul războiului dintre Rusia și Ucraina. În acest sens, cercetarea de față propune un design de cercetare calitativ, bazat pe selecția documentelor ca metodă de colectare a datelor și analiza narativă ca metodă de interpretare a datelor. Rezultatele au evidențiat prezența mai multor tipuri de procese de securitizare spirituală, particulare comunităților religioase analizate.

The study focuses on the online presence of the Romanian Foreign Intelligence Service (SIE) and the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) across three key platforms: Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. By analyzing the content and frequency, the research identifies the strategies used to communicate with the public, enhance transparency, and promote institutional goals. The findings highlight the role of social media in fostering public trust, engaging diverse audiences, recruitment and addressing challenges such as misinformation. This study contributes to understanding how intelligence services adapt to digital communication trends while navigating the delicate balance between operational secrecy and public outreach.
Rezumat: Acest articol explorează prezența serviciilor de informații pe rețelele sociale, utilizând netnografia ca metodă de cercetare. Studiul se concentrează pe prezența online a Serviciului de Informații Externe (SIE) și a Serviciului Român de Informații (SRI) pe trei platforme cheie: Facebook, Instagram și LinkedIn. Prin analizarea conținutului, frecvenței și a modelelor de interacțiune ale postărilor, cercetarea identifică strategiile folosite pentru a comunica cu publicul, a spori transparența și a promova obiectivele instituționale. Rezultatele evidențiază rolul rețelelor sociale în cultivarea încrederii publice, implicarea unor audiențe diverse și abordarea provocărilor precum dezinformarea și preocupările legate de confidențialitate. Acest studiu contribuie la înțelegerea modului în care serviciile de informații se adaptează tendințelor de comunicare digitală, păstrând în același timp echilibrul delicat între secretul operațional și dialogul cu publicul.

Arrian and Procopius on the ancient village named Athens in Colchis
Get PDFAn ancient village in the southeastern Black Sea region was named Athenai (Athens) from the Hellenistic period, and probably earlier. It kept the name, in the form of Atina, down to modern times, though it is now named Pazar in Turkish. It lies between Trapezus and Apsarus on the Turkish coast.
This article discusses ancient sources on it, esp. Arrian and Procopius. These accounts seem different, but can be reconciled, while each shows its own approach and attitudes in ways that have a wider relevance to their works. Suggestions that Athenians were involved there are unpersuasive, though possible local traditions are considered here, including the local tradition of a woman named Athenaea.
Rezumat: Un sat antic din regiunea de sud-est a Mării Negre a fost numit Athenai (Atena) din perioada elenistică, poate chiar mai devreme. Satul a păstrat acest nume, sub forma Atina, până în timpurile moderne, deși acum poartă numele turcesc de Pazar. Se află între Trapezus și Apsarus, pe litoralul turcesc.
Articolul discută sursele antice despre localitate, mai cu seamă pe Arrian și Procopius. Relatările acestora par diferite, dar pot fi reconciliate, în timp ce fiecare dintre ele reflectă propria abordare și atitudine, în moduri care au o relevanță mai largă pentru operele lor. Sugestiile conform cărora atenienii ar fi fost implicați în întemeierea satului sunt neconvingătoare, deși posibilele tradiții locale sunt luate în considerare, inclusiv tradiția locală despre o femeie numită Athenaea.

On the class of analytic functions defined by Robertson associated with nephroid domain
Get PDFThe primary focus of this article is to explore a novel subclass, denoted as GNGN, of analytic functions. These functions exhibit starlike properties concerning a boundary point within a nephroid domain. The author obtains representation theorems, establishes growth and distortion theorems, and investigates various implications related to differential subordination. In addition to the investigation of coefficient estimates, the study also explores specific consequences of differential subordination.

GREEN HRM AND CSR AS ANTECEDENTS OF ORGANISATION FINANCIAL GROWTH
Get PDFThis paper aims to examine the impact of green HRM and corporate social responsibility on financial performance growth, measured by profit, revenue, ROA, and ROE growth. To test the hypotheses, we employed ordinary least squares (OLS) regression analysis. The findings revealed that green HRM is a significant predictor of growth indicators, including profit, ROA, and ROE. Furthermore, contrary to our expectations, the implementation of CSR practices negatively impacts the firm’s potential for economic growth. The empirical evidence shows that CSR is positively associated only with revenue growth. This study contributes to the literature by examining the debated impact of green HRM and CSR on financial performance growth while also offering valuable insights for practitioners and policymakers.
