Sustainable banking: A literature review and integrative framework

    No full text
The literature on sustainable banking has been prolific since the beginning of the century. This context prompts the need to understand and categorize an increasingly heterogeneous body of sustainable banking literature. We perform a literature review using bibliometric techniques of 676 articles published between 1995 and 2019 in the Web of Science (WoS) database. Our results provide a perspective on the evolution of the sustainable banking literature over time and across academic categories and journals. An integrative framework emerges from the review, providing a comprehensive perspective of the nine clusters or thematic areas in sustainable banking literature embedded in three domains: Ethical Foundations, Sustainable Products, and Business-Case. The framework integrates the rich literature on sustainable banking, maps the predominant research areas, and highlights the primary research gaps. Finally, the literature review demonstrates a progressive convergence of the instrumental and ethical approaches to sustainable banking. This convergence highlights the importance of both the vivid societal debate around the role of banks in the advancement toward sustainability and the business rationale for banks to engage in sustainable strategies.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Artículos en revistasAbstract: Older adults are a population at risk for COVID-19. This study has two independent objectives: (1) to report the impact of COVID-19, as well as psycho-social responses during lockdown, in a sample of older adults in Spain, and (2) to explore through the review of published surveys what extent ageism has increased at the population level. The first objective was to search through an online questionnaire collecting information about self-reported health, lifestyles, psycho-social conditions, and a diversity of concerns. This questionnaire was administered to a volunteer sampleof 315 older Spanish men and women (301 COVID-19-free and 14 diagnosed with COVID-19). All individuals reported that they had information about the COVID-19 pandemic. Their self-perception of health was also quite good, most maintaining healthy lifestyles and few reporting unhealthy behaviors. They reported few changes in family and interpersonal relations during lockdown. Those diagnosed with COVID-19 reported higher levels of anxiety, irritation, and fear, in comparison withthe COVID-19-free group. Interestingly, instead of being concerned about health, the greatest concern in both groups (COVID-free and those diagnosed with COVID) were politics and the future. Our second objective, to explore ageism during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, was examined across various surveys conducted in several populations by several authors. Results showed an increase in ageism in Spain. Although some new information about health perception, psychosocial responses, and concerns during this unknown stressful situation was obtained, much more research with representative samples is required in order to arrive at more accurate conclusions.Abstract: Older adults are a population at risk for COVID-19. Pobreza y fecundidad

That reveals the meaning of ages and philosophical generation, the reason of their fecundity and poverty, as much as the relation between them and justiceinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

This year, it will be 400 years since the publication of the bestselling Via vitae aeternae (1620), by Flemish Jesuit Antoon Sucquet. Striking in its engravings, they no longer occupy the “composition of place” when meditating the life of Christ as in Nadal ́s posthumous Imagines (1593), but rather situate readers within the imagined space, as a pilgrim in the process of configuration with Christ, from meditation over contemplation to action. These images remarkably “narrate” visually and spatially the interior life with Christ. The image that represents the examination of conscience, which in fact is the first known of this theme, ingeniously combines both the particular and the general exam. It proposes an anagogical way towards the reunion with God, a laborious process of reconciliation before Christ, the merciful Judge. Because many engravings of this celebrated example of a 17th- century Ignatian lay spirituality influenced the first illustrated edition of the Spiritual Exercises (1649), it is all the more surprising that the engravings of both the particular and the general exam (the well-known “mnemotechnical hand”) have little to do with this noticeable anagogical image.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Life is fragile, naturally. Frailty is our human condition, whether we like it or not. Now, fragility can also be a path, as shown by what is called vulnerability or the “capacity to be hurt”, that is, the fragility chosen and oriented towards another person, the threshold where we can find ourselves among wounded beings. This book deals with this fragility turned into vulnerability, which can be read as a praise of vulnerability: ours and the one God chooses according to the Christian religion, which proposes vulnerability as a way and even as a religion.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

In German Idealism the study of aesthetic experience acquired, from the beginning, an extraordinary importance. Schelling's approach in System of Transcendental Idealism (1800) marks a particularly outstanding point of reference in relation to the philosophy of art. In this paper we want to rescue the valid insights of the aesthetic concept of revelation, separating them from the limits of the philosophy of identity, the elitism of genius, the Spinozist pantheism and Schelling's theology of Absoluteinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
