    Objective: This study aims to explore the implementation of internal audits at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Waru Sidoarjo and analyze their impact on the transparency and accountability of financial reporting. Method: A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Results: The findings indicate that internal audits significantly contribute to improving the transparency of financial reports. However, challenges such as limitations in documentation and financial management systems remain, requiring further improvements. Novelty: This research provides valuable insights into the role of internal audits in educational institutions, particularly in enhancing financial transparency and accountability, which has been underexplored in the context of Indonesian schools

    Objective: This study aims to address the lack of formal instruction in scientific research methods at the elementary and secondary school levels by enhancing students’ scientific writing skills, enabling them to produce well-structured and academically sound scientific articles. Method: The activity was conducted through a community service–based training program employing interactive lectures, guided practice, and mentoring sessions. The training introduced fundamental concepts of scientific research, including problem formulation, use of scientific methods, data interpretation, and systematic scientific writing. Participants were senior high school students who engaged in step-by-step writing exercises and received feedback on their drafts. Results: The training demonstrated a positive improvement in students’ understanding of scientific research principles and their ability to organize ideas into coherent scientific articles. Students showed increased confidence in applying rational and empirical thinking, structuring manuscripts, and using appropriate academic language. Novelty: This program offers a structured and early-stage intervention model for scientific writing at the secondary school level, integrating research method literacy with practical writing skills, which are typically only emphasized at the university level. This approach contributes a novel framework for strengthening pre-university scientific literacy and academic writing competence

    CHILD-FRIENDLY DIGITAL LITERACY MEDIA TRAINING FOR ENGLISH LEARNING IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

    Objective : This article reports on a community service program aimed at enhancing the creativity and digital literacy of elementary school English teachers through the integration of child-friendly digital media. Method : The program, implemented in collaboration with elementary school English teachers in Sidoarjo, involved 23 elementary school English teachers who participated in hands-on training using Canva, Wordwall, and AI to create digital media aligned with their teaching objectives. The training program employed a mixed-method quantitative approach, combining observations, surveys, and qualitative feedback to explore teacher engagement, digital media, and classroom implementation. Results : The results of this community service program demonstrated the significant potential of child-friendly digital English media to enhance teaching creativity among elementary school English teachers. By integrating technology-based media, such as Canva, Wordwall, and AI into their teaching practices, the 23 participating teachers were able to expand their pedagogical repertoire and begin shifting from conventional approaches to more innovative, interactive, and student-centered ones. Although challenges, particularly time constraints, limited the full implementation of the developed materials, the teachers' increased digital literacy and willingness to explore new methods are promising indicators of professional growth. Novelty : The results of this community service program demonstrated the significant potential of child-friendly digital English media to enhance teaching creativity among elementary school English teachers

    Objective: This community service program aimed to improve the physical condition of football players at a football club in Sidoarjo Regency through sport science–based assistance. Method: The program involved needs analysis, initial physical fitness assessment, assistance in designing and applying physical conditioning programs, and evaluation of outcomes. Educational sessions and practical on-field mentoring were provided to the coaches and players. Results: The program resulted in enhanced understanding of sport science-based physical training, leading to improvements in several components of players’ physical conditions. Coaches and players gained valuable knowledge about the importance of structured physical training. Novelty: This initiative bridged the gap between theoretical sport science principles and their practical application in a local football club, offering a systematic, sustainable physical training guideline. It exemplifies the role of physical education lecturers in developing sports performance at the local level

    OPTIMIZING THE ROLE OF PARENTS THROUGH LITERACY AND HEALTH AWARENESS IN SUPPORTING CHILD DEVELOPMENT

    Objective: The Community Service Program (KKN) in Balongdowo Village, Candi Sub-district, Sidoarjo Regency aimed to increase early childhood reading interest while strengthening parents’ role in supporting children’s growth and development. The background of this program was the low reading motivation among children, influenced by limited literacy facilities, health problems, and parents’ lack of awareness regarding the importance of early literacy. Method: The activities were carried out using a participatory approach through literacy workshops for parents, the establishment of a child-friendly reading corner, and basic health examinations to detect risks of stunting and malnutrition. KKN students collaborated with the local ‘Aisyiyah branch and TK/KB institutions in providing reading materials, conducting outreach, and mentoring children.  Results:  The program successfully established a reading corner with various attractive books for children, organized a literacy seminar that raised parents’ awareness, and implemented health checks that provided an overview of children’s growth conditions. Active participation of partners strengthened the program’s success, creating synergy among students, educational institutions, parents, and health cadres.  Novelty: This KKN program offers an integrated model that combines literacy improvement and early childhood health monitoring simultaneously. Unlike conventional literacy programs, it provides a holistic impact by addressing both educational and health aspects while directly involving parents. This combined approach becomes the novelty that distinguishes the program from similar activities

    HERBAL MORINGA TEA COUNSELING FOR PREVENTING STUNTING IN TODDLERS AND PREGNANT WOMEN

    Objective: This study aims to explore the utilization of Moringa oleifera leaves as a nutritional intervention to prevent and reduce stunting among toddlers through the development of Moringa herbal tea. Method: A community-based education and training program was conducted involving members of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) g roup. The program included stages of preparation, implementation, and evaluation, focusing on knowledge transfer regarding the nutritional benefits of Moringa leaves and hands-on training in herbal tea production. Results: The training significantly improved participants’ understanding of the nutritional content and processing techniques of Moringa leaves, particularly their rich composition in protein, beta-carotene, calcium, iron, magnesium, vitamin C, and vitamin A, along with potent antioxidant compounds. Novelty: This initiative presents a localized and sustainable approach by empowering community members—especially women—as agents of change in combating malnutrition and stunting, through the production and promotion of Moringa-based functional beverages. The integration of traditional knowledge with scientific insight into nutrition showcases an innovative model of health promotion at the grassroots level

    COMPETITIVE MSME STRATEGY: BUSINESS WORKSHOP, HALAL CERTIFICATION, AND DIGITALIZATION IN KEMASANTANI VILLAGE

    Objective: Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) significantly contribute to economic growth, employment, and community welfare. However, they face persistent challenges in marketing, legality, and technological adaptation. This study aims to enhance the competitiveness of MSMEs in Kemasantani Village through structured interventions, including business workshops, halal certification assistance, and digitalization strategies. Method: A participatory approach was employed, involving direct engagement with MSME actors. Training sessions were conducted on digital marketing, guided assistance was provided for halal certification, and digital platforms were introduced to optimize business operations. Results: The intervention yielded significant outcomes, with 85% of participants demonstrating an improved understanding of digital marketing, 15 MSMEs successfully obtaining halal certification, and 60% of participants recognizing the potential of the digital market for business expansion. Novelty: This study provides an integrated model of MSME development by combining digital literacy, legal compliance, and market expansion strategies. The findings highlight the effectiveness of a participatory approach in empowering MSMEs, offering a scalable framework for enhancing business sustainability and competitiveness in similar rural contexts

    Objective: Program Festival Kopi dan Pemberdayaan Petani di Kecamatan Tutur bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan potensi industri kopi lokal melalui berbagai kegiatan strategis. Acara Festival Kopi menjadi platform untuk memperkenalkan kopi lokal kepada pasar yang lebih luas dan meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan nilai-nilai kopi lokal. Selain itu, program pemberdayaan petani melalui pelatihan teknik budidaya, pengolahan pasca panen, dan strategi pemasaran bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas produksi kopi, serta meningkatkan kesejahteraan ekonomi petani. Method: Metode penelitian yang digunakan meliputi pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus, melibatkan observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumentasi. Results: Hasil dari program ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam produksi kopi berkualitas tinggi dan penguatan hubungan antara pelaku industri kopi lokal dengan masyarakat dan konsumen. Dampak positifnya meliputi peningkatan pendapatan petani, pengembangan modal sosial dalam bentuk jaringan kerjasama, serta peningkatan apresiasi terhadap warisan budaya dan lingkungan. Namun demikian, perlu diperhatikan pula dampak negatif seperti manajemen limbah dan risiko komersialisasi berlebihan terhadap budaya lokal. Novelty: Kesimpulannya, program ini memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan dalam mengembangkan potensi kopi lokal sebagai salah satu strategi untuk pembangunan ekonomi berkelanjutan di Kecamatan Tutur

    HYDROPONIC AND TOGA INNOVATIONS: SOLUTIONS FOR UTILIZING LIMITED LAND IN KETIMANG VILLAGE

    Objective: Limited agricultural land in rural areas due to land conversion drives the need for innovation in farming, and this study aims to implement a hydroponic system and a Family Medicinal Garden (TOGA) as an alternative cultivation method in the limited space of the Ketimang Village community, Wonoayu District, Sidoarjo Regency. Method: The methods used include clearing the planting area, sowing seeds, and arranging plants according to function and aesthetics. Result: The results of the study indicate that the community can utilize limited land to obtain fresh vegetables and family medicinal plants, while simultaneously increasing food security and household economic opportunities. Novelty: The application of the hydroponic system and TOGA has proven to be efficient, productive, and has the potential to provide added value through sustainable management
