    Interactive nutrition education for pregnant women: Strengthening maternal health and environmental sustainability in stunting prevention

    Background: Pregnancy is a critical period that determines both maternal and child health while influencing household food choices and environmental sustainability. Limited nutrition literacy during pregnancy not only increases the risk of malnutrition and stunting but also perpetuates unsustainable dietary practices that burden local ecosystems. This study aims to optimise pregnant women’s nutrition understanding through interactive education programmes that strengthen maternal health and promote environmentally sustainable practices. By emphasising balanced nutrition, positive attitudes, and the use of local food resources, the programme seeks to prevent stunting while reducing ecological impact. Method: A quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test design was employed with 50 pregnant women selected through purposive sampling. The intervention consisted of animated educational videos, interactive simulations on sustainable food choices, quiz-based learning, and guided group discussions with health workers. Findings: Findings demonstrated a significant improvement in nutrition knowledge among the intervention group compared to the control group (Δ = 2.96 vs 0.4; p < 0.001). Beyond knowledge, participants reported greater awareness of the benefits of local, environmentally friendly food consumption patterns as part of stunting prevention efforts. Conclusion: Interactive education effectively enhances maternal nutritional literacy while integrating environmental sustainability into dietary behaviour. This dual benefit highlights the potential of participatory, eco-conscious educational models to improve maternal and child health outcomes while fostering sustainable food systems at the community level. Future researchers can compare various other education methods, such as digital-based education or a combination of conventional and interactive education, to determine the most effective approach in increasing mothers' knowledge and behavioural change in stunting prevention.     Spatial multi-parameter analysis of landslide susceptibility with geological structure integration

    Background: Based on the 2022-2026 disaster risk assessment, nearly all districts in Bali Province are at a high risk of landslides. The Tukad Oos Watershed is one of the river basins in Bali Province, spanning two districts: Gianyar District and Bangli District. Mapping and analysing landslide potential is an important step in disaster mitigation efforts. The objective of this study is to identify the locations of landslide-prone areas in the Tukad Oos Watershed and to assess the impact of the development of the Ubud and Kintamani tourist areas on these landslide-prone areas. Methods: The method used is multi-parameter scoring. This study analyzes landslide potential in Tukad Oos Watershed, Bali, using rainfall, slope, geology, soil, landform, and land use parameters with a weighted scoring method. Findings: The results of the landslide potential estimation analysis indicate a high landslide potential class covering 4.87 hectares or 0.03% of the basin area, a moderate potential class covering 72.97 hectares or 0.5% of the watershed area, a low potential class covering 829.98 hectares or 6.74% of the watershed area, and a non-potential class covering 11,406.05 hectares or 92.62% of the upstream Tukad Oos watershed area. Conclusion: The results of the landslide potential analysis from this study are quite similar to the Inarisk BNPB data, with the difference lying in the level of detail produced, which is influenced by the spatial resolution of the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) used for the analysis. The development of tourism activities in the Ubud and Kintamani areas does not significantly increase the landslide potential in the Tukad Oos watershed. Novelty/Originality of this article: Studies on landslides in Indonesia use several parameters; the main parameter that is often used is slope inclination, but this study adds geological structure parameters as a determining factor in landslide estimation

    Modification of the quality and patient safety control dashboard using the pureshare approach to optimize hospital performance indicators

    Background: This complexity is created because hospital services are related to various service functions, research, and education, and cover various levels and types of disciplines. The quality of health services in its design requires strategies and regular monitoring to maintain and improve the performance of a hospital's health services. Findings: The findings indicate that the quality & safety committee of hospital X dashboard faced operational challenges caused by limited human resources, unstable internet connectivity, complex and voluminous data linked to hospital accreditation standards, and the absence of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Through redesigning key features—such as quality indicators, incident reports, and national quality indicators—and adding a new patient satisfaction feature, the dashboard was improved using the Pureshare development method. As a result, the dashboard became more reliable in supporting real-time monitoring and evaluation of hospital quality and patient safety performance. Methods: The analysis method in this study was carried out using a qualitative approach through observations, interviews, and secondary data analysis, which were processed based on input, process, and output aspects to produce dashboard data visualizations using the Pureshare development method. Conclusion: The factors causing the quality and patient safety control dashboard of quality & safety committee of hospital X to not operate are firstly from the knowledge factor of human resources or quality & safety committee of hospital X employees in operating the dashboard system, secondly from the unavailability of guidelines or work instructions in operating the dashboard system, thirdly from the amount of data that must be processed is quite complex and fourthly from the hospital X internet network which is sometimes unstable.     Institutional communication in the digital era: Social media content planning in public relations workflows

    Background: The rapid development of digital technology and media convergence has transformed how public institutions communicate, especially through social media. This study explores social media content planning within the Public Relations and Information Data Working Group (Pokja Humas Datin) of the Directorate General of Pollution and Environmental Damage Control (Ditjen PPKL), Ministry of Environment and Forestry, during the year 2023. Methods: Using a qualitative-descriptive method through internship-based observation, interviews, and direct participation, the research analyzes how digital public relations strategies are implemented to disseminate environmental information to the public. Findings: Findings show that the working group manages content production and dissemination across multiple platforms—primarily Instagram and YouTube—through structured workflows encompassing pre-production, production, and post-production stages. Despite limited human resources, the team maintains high public engagement, supported by visual guidelines and collaborative initiatives. A SWOT analysis revealed internal strengths in team coordination and equipment availability, but also identified weaknesses such as limited platform coverage and reliance on interns for technical tasks. External opportunities include strong public interest in environmental issues, while threats involve delayed inter-unit coordination and public misperceptions. The USG method further prioritized key issues for strategic improvement. Conclusion: The study concludes that effective social media governance in government institutions requires structured planning, technical upskilling, and adaptive collaboration. Novelty/Originality of this article: This research lies in its integration of internship experience, institutional communication practices, and SWOT–USG analysis to assess the real-world application of government public relations in the digital era

    Paradoxical effects of principals’ leadership strategies on islamic character development in multicultural school settings

    Background: The leadership of school principals plays a crucial role in shaping students' character in multicultural environments such as SMK Negeri 1 Purwokerto. However, there has been no specific study that examines the influence of leadership strategies on the development of students’ Islamic character within the context of cultural and religious diversity. This study addresses that academic gap by integrating three aspects: leadership strategies, Islamic character, and the multicultural context. Methods: This is an associative quantitative study employing a field research approach. A sample of 80 students was selected from a population of 403 students in grades X and XI using simple random sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and Likert scale-based questionnaires, and were then analyzed using validity, reliability, normality, linearity, and simple linear regression tests. Findings: The findings indicate that the instrument was valid (r-count > 0.2199) and reliable (Cronbach’s Alpha: X = 0.742; Y = 0.729). The data were normally distributed (sig. = 0.168) and exhibited a significant linear relationship (sig. = 0.001). Simple linear regression analysis revealed that leadership strategies had a substantial influence on Islamic character (sig. = 0.003), but the effect was negative (regression coefficient b = -0.244) with a low contribution (R² = 0.105). This suggests that an increase in leadership strategies may potentially decrease Islamic character, possibly due to a lack of collaborative approaches or the dominance of external factors (89.5%). Conclusion: The conclusion highlights the significance of transformative-relational leadership, which entails embodying Islamic values and conducting contextual evaluations in multicultural settings. Novelty/Originality of this article: The novelty of this study lies in the integration of the three aspects and the revelation of a paradoxical negative relationship that has not been explored in previous research

These systems aim to not only observe but also recognize and respond to suspicious activities effectively and efficiently. Current literature highlights the transformative impact of IoT and AI in various sectors, offering significant improvements over traditional methods. Methods: This study explores the integration of sensor networks, AI-driven algorithms, and Internet of Things platforms. Data collection involves real-time inputs from devices such as cameras, PIR sensors, and microphones, analyzed through machine learning techniques to enhance detection precision. Findings: The systems demonstrate improved monitoring efficiency and have the capacity to operate autonomously, ensuring security across both public and private sectors. They offer long-term cost savings and overcome the limitations inherent in human-operated systems. Conclusion: These systems represent a significant advancement toward proactive and intelligent surveillance, enhancing public safety and security. Novelty/Originality of this article: The research underscores the novel integration of cutting-edge technologies in intelligence monitoring, establishing new benchmarks in adaptability and responsiveness, and setting the foundation for future advancements in cohesive and sustainable surveillance frameworks

    The influence of information quality in user-generated content (UGC) behavioral intention to revisit: The mediating role of destination image (a study on Lampung as a tourism object)

    Background: This study aims to investigate the mediating effect of perceived destination image on the relationship between information quality in user-generated content (UGC) and behavioral intention, with a focus on the intention to revisit Lampung as a tourist destination, while extending the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) model by Mehrabian and Russel. Methods: Based on the tourism context in Lampung, a total of 283 valid responses from domestic tourists were collected and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the research hypotheses. Findings: The indirect path analysis results show that cognitive image significantly mediates the relationship between representational information quality and social information quality on behavioral intention to revisit, while affective image serves as a significant mediator in the relationship between representational information quality and contextual information quality on behavioral intention to revisit. Interestingly, this study also found that intrinsic information quality has a significant direct effect on behavioral intention to revisit. Conclusion: These findings contribute significantly to understanding how destination image influences tourists' perceptions of different types of information quality in shaping their intention to revisit, while also highlighting the complex interplay between humans and technology in the context of tourism.     The role of social communities in empowering communities through the transformation of waste into marketable products

    Background: Waste is a global issue that requires serious and sustainable handling. Waste management problems are not only the responsibility of the government or related institutions, but also a shared duty of society — including social communities. Methods: This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include primary sources — namely, social community administrators — and secondary sources such as necessary documentation. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation from websites and social media accounts of several community organizations. The data analysis technique involved data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Findings: The results of the study show that community empowerment programs have been successfully implemented, including educational initiatives such as seminars, training sessions, and city-wide clean-up campaigns, as well as the establishment of waste banks and social media awareness campaigns. The waste management methods applied by these communities include bata terawang, loseda, biopores, composting buckets, and maggot-based processing. During the implementation of these empowerment efforts, several challenges emerged, such as inadequate facilities, low public awareness of proper waste management practices, and limited financial resources in the early stages of the communities' formation. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the role of social communities in empowering the public through waste management has made a real contribution to reducing and transforming waste into valuable materials. Novelty/Originality of this article: Social communities empower people using an andragogical approach — an educational method that treats adult learners as peers. These communities have succeeded in empowering society through various channels of life, such as direct education, social media outreach, and by setting real-life examples of proper waste management

    Assessment of soil mesofauna diversity, dominance, and environmental conditions in paddy field ecosystems with recommendations for sustainable agricultural practices

    Background: The diversity and dominance of soil mesofauna are influenced by environmental factors such as soil temperature, pH, humidity, and texture. This study aims to analyze the soil mesofauna community, including species count, diversity, and dominance, and evaluate the environmental quality of rice fields in Pliken Village, Kembaran District, Banyumas Regency. Methods: The research was conducted using a survey method from January to June 2023. Soil samples were collected from three different locations (west, north, and south) with a one-month interval. Sampling was carried out twice a day, in the morning (06:0–008:00 Western Indonesia Time) and evening (18:00–20:00 Western Indonesia Time). Findings: A total of 820 individuals from 13 species, 11 families, and 9 orders of soil mesofauna were recorded. Solenopsis invicta (Red Ants) had the highest count (332 individuals), while Cimex sp. and Pulex sp. had the lowest (2 individuals each). The Shannon-Wiener diversity index ranged from 1.19 to 1.86, averaging 1.52, indicating moderate diversity. The Simpson dominance index ranged from 0.150 to 0.531, averaging 0.300, suggesting no species dominance. Environmental factors such as air temperature (22–28°C), soil temperature (23–28°C), and soil pH (6.1) were within optimal ranges for mesofauna life. However, humidity levels varied between 20–65%, with lower values in the dry season, potentially affecting mesofauna survival. Conclusion: The rice fields of Pliken Village support a moderately diverse soil mesofauna community with no dominant species. The environmental conditions are generally favorable, except for humidity fluctuations, which may impact mesofauna populations. Sustainable land management practices, such as reducing excessive pesticide use, are recommended to maintain soil fertility and biodiversity. Novelty/Originality of this article: This study provides a comprehensive assessment of soil mesofauna diversity and environmental quality in rice fields, offering valuable insights into the impact of agricultural practices on soil ecosystems.     Optimizing diabetic retinopathy therapy with precision medicine: Can we do that in Indonesia?

    Background: Diabetes is one of the most common diseases in the world, including in Indonesia. High blood sugar levels in diabetics can cause various complications, one of which is diabetic retinopathy. The treatment used in diabetic retinopathy does not fully provide the desired therapeutic effect in all patients. Therefore, a study was conducted on the prescription drug approach to optimize diabetic retinopathy therapy. Methods: This narrative review was conducted by searching articles that discuss three main focuses, including (1) why precision medicine (PM) can be implemented in diabetic retinopathy (DR); (2) the application, benefits, and components of PM for DR; and (3) challenges in its implementation in Indonesia. The included articles are articles published in national and international journals between 2014 and 2025. Findings: This study reveals that diabetic retinopathy is a complication of diabetes whose development can be influenced by genetic and environmental factors of the patient. Precision medicine can be applied in determining the best therapy for diabetic retinopathy by analyzing the clinical condition history, molecular and biochemical biomarkers of patients using artificial intelligence or machine learning. Conclusion: optimization of diabetic retinopathy therapy can be done with a precision medicine approach by analyzing genetic factors and patient environmental factors. However, there are still some challenges in its application in Indonesia including health service disparities, regulatory issues, technology, costs, and human resources. To develop precision medicine in Indonesia, Indonesia should develop equitable distribution in health services, conduct policy and research more on DM and PM, and collaborate with other countries. This narrative review has several limitations: literature search was limited to 3 database sources, we did not assess the quality of the articles, and implementation steps and solutions for PM implementation in Indonesia are only discussed in general, not specifically for DR. Future research can be carried out by discussing in more depth the specific steps of PM implementation for DR.
