    Automation of traditional networks : a mini-review

Undoubtedly, the increase in the number of devices has resulted in elevated expenses, heightened vulnerability to human mistakes, extended timeframes for implementing modifications to these network devices, and a larger workforce. This work offers an in-depth analysis of conventional networks and their automation. Furthermore, including the statistical analysis conducted within this domain, the prospective trajectory of network automation, the imperatives necessitating its automation, and the inherent constraints associated with these networks. moreover, provides an analysis of the proposed gaps and solutions for these networks, which involve the automation of conventional networks. As well as it's included highlighting their advantages, disadvantages and examines prior research that has focused on the automation of conventional networks. The work aims to encompass a wide range of models that automate such networks. Additional ideas and recommendations for future research endeavors are provided as part of this work's exhaustive analysis of the findings

    Energy space cooling system saving and shaiting with phase change materials

    In contemporary times, there has been a marked escalation in energy use, largely driven by the Industrial Renaissance. This uptick poses environmental challenges, especially since 30- 40% of global energy consumption originates from residential and commercial infrastructures. Addressing these concerns, researchers have been gravitating towards methods that curtail energy usage within buildings. Our study presents and assesses an innovative floor cooling system, harnessing the energy retention and release capabilities of phase change materials (PCMs). We delve into the potential of paraffin and water in maintaining a pleasant indoor ambiance. Initial findings suggest that paraffin can consistently moderate temperatures between 22-27°C. The transition times for paraffin between liquid and solid states were measured at 150 minutes and 180 minutes, respectively. Incorporating paraffin led to a ground surface temperature decrease of about 1.5-2.5°C. The research highlights the promise of PCMs in boosting energy efficiency, spotlighting their relevance in cooling mechanisms. Utilizing PCMs can usher in substantial energy conservation in buildings, paving the way for a greener tomorrow.     Phytochemical profiling, therapeutic target enzymes inhibitory, antioxidant, and cytotoxic potential of Cardopatium corymbosum

    Cardopatium corymbosum (L.) Pers. (Asteraceae) has been used ethnomedicinally against intestinal worms, for skin diseases, and in wound treatment. This study investigated the phytochemical profile and biological activities of ethanol (CCE), methanol (CCM), and water (CCW) extracts of C. corymbosum. LC-MS/MS analysis revealed the presence of various metabolites. Antioxidant activities of the extracts were determined by measuring 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging activities and ferric-reducing power (FRAP). The cytotoxicity against human breast cancer (MCF-7) and human umbilical vein endothelial (HUVEC) cell lines were determined using the (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) (MTT) assay. Enzyme inhibitory activities against α-amylase, α-glucosidase, acetylcholinesterase (AChE), butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), thioredoxin reductase (TrxR), and elastase were measured to assess potential antidiabetic, anti-Alzheimer's, anticancer, and antiaging/wound healing effects. CCM exhibited the highest total phenolic and flavonoid contents and antioxidant activity. Fumaric acid, chlorogenic acid, vanillic acid, and rutin were identified as major components in CCM. C. corymbosum extracts, particularly those from CCE and CCM, displayed significant cytotoxicity on MCF-7 cells while exhibiting lower toxicity towards HUVEC cells. Notably, CCM demonstrated potent α-glucosidase inhibitory activity, while no α-amylase inhibition was observed. All extracts showed weak inhibition of AChE, BChE, and elastase. Conversely, the extracts displayed moderate TrxR inhibitory activity. These findings suggest that C. corymbosum possesses significant antioxidant, enzyme inhibitory, and cytotoxic potential, highlighting its promise as a source of novel bioactive molecules

    Amaç: Bu çalışmada Alkol veya Madde Kullanım Bozukluğu tanılarıyla BAHAR Merkezinden takip edilen hastaların yaşam kalitesi düzeylerinin değişiminin incelenmesi ve bu değişimde etkili faktörlerin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Ocak 2022- Haziran 2023 tarihleri arasında Alkol/Madde Kullanım Bozukluğu tanısıyla Erenköy BAHAR Merkezi’nde takipli hastalar ardışık olarak çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Rehabilitasyon merkezinde takibine başlanan hastalara Sosyodemografik Veri Formu ile birlikte Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeği Kısa Formu (WHOQOL-BREF) ilk görüşmede ön- test olarak ve tedavisinin 6. ayında son-test olarak uygulanmıştır. Bulgular: Katılımcıların %82’si erkek, %18’i kadın, %44 oranında lise mezunu, %38’i bekar, %48’i çalışmıyor ve %76’sı ailesiyle yaşıyordu. WHOQOL-BREF Ölçeğinin Fiziksel Yaşam Kalitesi Alt Boyutu, Psikolojik Alt Boyutu, Sosyal Alt Boyutu Çevre Alt Boyutu ve Toplam “Son-Test” puan ortalamaların tümü “Ön-Test” puan ortalamalarından anlamlı şekilde farklı ve büyük saptandı. Sonuç: Rehabilitasyon sürecindeki hastaların programlarının yapılandırılması sırasında, yaşam kalitesini artırmaya yönelik müdahalelere daha çok yer verilmesi açısından klinik müdahale stratejilerinde de yol gösterici olabilir

    Relationship between fibrinogen values and sensitivity and specificity of STS ccore, euroscore for patients undergoing open heart surgery

    Background/Aim: Cardiovascular diseases are a leading cause of mortality worldwide, with surgical interventions playing a crucial role in outcomes. Despite technological advancements and improved operator experience, perioperative and postoperative risks remain significant, particularly for high-risk patients. Fibrinogen, an acute-phase reactant, increases during inflammation and plays a role in coagulation. This study investigates the prognostic impact of fibrinogen levels on the outcomes of cardiac surgery and evaluates its relationship with established risk classification systems. Materials and Methods: This observational cohort study included 105 patients who underwent cardiac surgery between May 2018 and December 2023. Patients with coronary bypass grafting and valve surgery were included, while those with transplantation, congenital heart surgery, or other significant conditions were excluded. Patient data, including demographic information, comorbidities, laboratory parameters, and surgical details, were collected. The fibrinogen cutoff value was determined using the Youden index. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 23.0, with p-values 3.8 g/dL) showed higher rates of complications, such as low cardiac output, prolonged mechanical ventilation, and atrial fibrillation, compared to the LowFib group (<3.8 g/dL). The HighFib group also had lower preoperative hemoglobin levels and higher Euroscore values. Logistic regression analysis demonstrated that both fibrinogen levels and established risk scores were significant predictors of postoperative complications. Conclusion: Elevated fibrinogen levels are associated with increased postoperative complications in cardiac surgery patients. Fibrinogen, alongside traditional risk scores, can be a valuable predictor of adverse outcomes. Prospective studies are needed to further validate these findings and establish optimal fibrinogen management strategies in cardiac surgery

    Dentin thickness model : A novel method for dental age estimation using panoramic radiography

    The study aims to evaluate the reliability of the novel dentin thickness model based on root parameters when applied to panoramic radiography images of mandibular first molar in the southern Turkish subpopulation. A total of 946 panoramic images were analyzed for the study. The samples were allocated into four age groups: Group 1(between 10 and 18), Group 2(between 19 and 30), Group 3(between 31 and 50), Group 4(between 51 and 78). The dentin thickness model measurements consisted of root dentin thickness of the mesial aspect of the distal root and distal canal width. Regression, intraclass correlation coefficient, and Durbin-Watson analyses were used for statistics. A medium correlation was detected in the dentin thickness model (R = 0.398). Root dentin thickness and canal width had a significant effect (p 0.05). Group 3 showed the highest accuracy (p < 0.001). Group 4 presented the lowest correlation with chronological age compared to other age groups (p < 0.001). The dentin thickness model showed a promising result for the dental age estimation with a medium correlation. The dentin thickness model included root measurements of the mesial aspect of the mandibular first molar without any crown parameters in the southern Turkish subpopulation.     Biliary atresia-splenic malformation (BASM) syndrome: a case report

    Article number: 109937Introduction and importance: Biliary atresia (BA) is characterized by the presence of persistent cholestatic jaundice during the neonatal period. This group of patients is at higher risk for liver disease and/or portal hypertension compared with other chronic liver diseases. Case presentation: We present a newborn patient who had biliary stools early postnatally, but her gallbladder was not seen on radiological examination and was referred to our clinic. On examination, polysplenia was seen, and the inferior vena cava was not seen. The patient's stool color changed to a creamy stool without bile three weeks postnatally. The neonate was diagnosed with biliary atresia and splenic malformation (BASM) syndrome. The patient underwent a Kasai portoenterostomy in the 3rd week of age and was preoperatively diagnosed with malrotation and treated with a Ladd procedure at the same time. The patient had a postoperative stool with bile and decreased bilirubinemia with a normal defecation period. Clinical discussion: BASM syndrome, clinically has different causes and a worse prognosis than isolated BA. The syndrome can lead to end-stage cirrhosis and liver failure if left untreated. Although timely Kasai surgery is the standard treatment for BA, the age of the patient at the time of the surgery is different depending on BA groups. Conclusion: The most important prognostic factors for BASM syndrome are early diagnosis and treatment. Despite this, the patients need careful follow-up. Postoperative adjuvant steroid therapy may have a good impact on the outcomes

    Evaluating the electronic and structural basis of carbon selenide-based quantum dots as photovoltaic design materials : A DFT and ML analysis

    We present a new study on the design, discovery and space generation of carbon selenide based photovoltaic (PV) materials. By extending acceptors and leveraging density functional theory (DFT) and machine learning (ML) analysis, we discover new QDs with remarkable PV properties. We employ various ML models, to correlate the exciton binding energy (Eb) of 938 relevant compounds from literature with their molecular descriptors of structural features that influence their performance. Our study demonstrates the potential of ML approaches in streamlining the design and discovery of high-efficiency PV materials. Also the RDKit computed molecular descriptors correlates with PV parameters revealed maximum absorption (λmax) ranges of 509–531 nm, light harvesting efficiency (LHE) above 92 %, Open Circuit Voltage (Voc) of 0.22–0.45 V, and short Circuit (Jsc) currents of 37.92–42.75 mA/cm2. Their Predicted Power Conversion Efficiencies (PCE) using the Scharber method reaches upto 09–13 %. This study can pave the way for molecular descriptor-based design of new PV materials, promising a paradigm shift in the development of high-efficiency solar energy conversion technologies
