Identifying risk factors of the dropout in the students at the Department of Judo therapy and Sports Medicine.
了德寺大学健康科学部整復医療・トレーナー学科の入学者における中途退学率は未だ非常に高い.そのため,我々は退学を選択する学生数を減少させるための取り組みを,早期の段階から実施する必要がある.そこで本研究は,本学科の過去のデータ分析の結果から,中途退学者時期別の初年次特性を明らかにすることを目的とした.2013年度から2016年度までに入学をした学生を,早期中退群25名,後期中退群31名,卒業群266名に群分けをし,各群の1年次専門科目欠席数,1年次Grade Point Average (GPA),英語プレイスメントテスト結果を調べた.本研究の結果,中途退学者では卒業者と比較して,1年次の柔道整復専門科目授業欠席数(早期中退群10.4±10.4回,後期退学群2.26±2.7回,卒業群1.04±1.6回)で高い値を,1年次GPA(早期退学群1.3±0.8,後期退学群2.0±0.4,卒業群2.6±0.5)および英語プレイスメントテストの結果(早期退学群56.9±19.6点,後期退学群63.8±11.9点,卒業群68.2±12.7点)で低い値を示した.特に早期退学者は,後期退学者と比較しても,基礎学力および授業参加意欲が共に低く,それに伴い1年次GPAも低くなっている可能性がある.中途退学者数を減少させるためには,これらの指標を用いて効果的に退学リスクの高い学生を抽出する必要があると考えられる.Because the dropout rate has been high in the Department of Judo Therapy and Sports Medicine, we need to take preventive measures from the early stages of the school enrollment to lower the rate. Therefore, The objective of the present study was to identify the risk factors related to the dropout by analyzing class attendance of 1st-year judo therapist specialization course, 1st-year grade point average (GPA), and the result of the English placement test in the students enrolled in the department from academic years of 2013 to 2016. We first divided the students into three categories: the graduated group (n=266), the early dropout group (n=25), and the late dropout group (n=31). We then compared the 1st-year course attendance, 1st-year GPA, and the placement test between the three groups. In the present result, the dropout student demonstrated lower values in all the categories than the graduated groups did. The result also suggests that the students at high risk of early dropout have remarkably low motivation towards judo therapy, leading to lower academic outcomes. We may need to pay more attention to these variables to effectively screen the students at high risk of dropout to decrease the department's student dropout rate.departmental bulletin pape
Effect of jiggling on physical findings in patients with advanced stage osteoarthritis of the hip〜 Short term results after 3 months of jigging〜
変形性股関節症の症例に対するジグリングの効果に関して,理学所見に絞った報告は少ない.
目的は進行期変形性股関節症の一症例に対しジグリングを実施し,理学所見における変化を短期成績として報告することである.
症例は進行期変形性股関節症と診断された40歳代女性である.ジグリング開始前の理学所見をベースラインとし,1ヶ月ごとに理学所見をとり,開始から3ヶ月後までの短期成績を示した.ジグリングは300rpmで20分を1日2回実施し,毎日継続した.
ベースラインと比較して3ヶ月で改善したものは,股関節内転・外旋の可動域 ,Oberテストであった.また日本整形外科学会股関節疾患評価質問表(以下JHEQと略す)が16点から27点,JOAスコアが42点から49点(2ヶ月後では65点)と,ともに点数の改善が見られた.
内転及び外旋の可動域改善は,小殿筋がジグリングによる持続的な振動刺激によって緊張が抑制され起きたものと考えられた.JOAおよびJHEQスコアに関しては3ヶ月でわずかに改善は見られたため,一定の効果はあったと考える.There are a few reports on improvement in imaging and subjective symptoms of osteoarthritis, but there are few reports on the effects of jiggling on physical examination.
The purpose of this study was to report the short-term results of jiggling for a case of advanced-stage osteoarthritis of the hip.
A woman in her 40s was diagnosed with advanced-stage osteoarthritis of the hip. Physical examination was performed prior to the start of jiggling and was used as the baseline. The same physical examination was performed every month thereafter, and short-term results were obtained up to 3 months after the start of jiggling. Jiggling was performed at 300 rpm for 20 minutes twice a day, and was continued daily.
The physical examination at three months after the start of the program showed that the range of motion of hip adduction and external rotation, and the Ober test were improved compared to the baseline. The Japanese Orthopaedic Society Hip Evaluation Questionnaire (JHEQ) score ranged from 16 to 27 points, and the JOA score ranged from 42 to 49 points (65 points after 2 months), and both scores showed improvement.
The gluteus minimus muscle, which is a limiting factor of adduction and external rotation of the hip joint, is attached to the joint capsule of the hip joint. Continuous vibration stimulation by jiggling might be transmitted through the joint capsule to the muscle and cause the suppression of tension. The improvement of external rotation range of motion and Ober test was considered to be caused by this stimulus. The JHEQ score also showed some improvement, but the range of improvement was small and the effect of the JHEQ was not yet fully shown. Simulated public health education for the nursing students in the Covid-19 -Changing the municipal off-campus clinical training to the on-campus training-
令和2年度はCovid-19の感染の蔓延により,本学では前期の講義はオンラインによる対応となった.公衆衛生看護学領域においても保健師資格取得のための臨地実習は延期となり,感染予防対策を徹底する中での学内実習に変更した.
保健師課程3学年時に自主学習で行った実習地の地区踏査を踏まえて,公衆衛生看護管理論の授業の中で地域診断をオンラインで実施した.この地域診断から健康課題を抽出し,模擬健康教育の企画案・指導案を作成,実施,評価までの一連を体験した.学生は,「住民の健康を守るためにはどうしたらいいのか」という保健師としての自覚が芽生え,達成感を得ていた.
しかしながら,臨地実習場で得られるダイナミックで流動的な対象や家族の心理や葛藤などに触れることができないことは学内実習の限界である.専門職を養成する大学として,感染症などの緊急事態が危惧される時代においては,臨地実習が十分に実施できないことは今後の課題である.
今回,健康教育に焦点を当て実践を振り返り,今後の保健師教育のあり方を検討するための資料とする.The nursing lectures were provided through the online during the first half of the 2020 academic year due to the COVID-19. Although the community clinical training for the public health nursing qualification was postponed, the training was held on-campus while the infection control measures were thoroughly implemented.
The third-year (junior) nursing students presented the online lecture for the regional assessment for the public health nursing management theory. The contents were created as if they were actually in the district training site. The regional health issues were identified from this educational training. As a result, a series of procedures were created and implemented; the experiences were accumulated for the online education. Moreover, the plans for the evaluation and guidelines were simulated. The students had the opportunity to become aware of what they were required to protect the health of the residents as the public health nurses. The students also attained a sense of accomplishment through their experiences.
On the contrary, the on-campus training has the limitation for the actual hands-on experiences with using various equipment, understanding the psychosocial family dynamics and resolving the conflicts that could be unique to the clinical training field. The infectious diseases were currently serious concerns as the emergency management. The nursing schools could not sufficiently offer such a training in the classroom environment. In summary, the students and faculties had valuable experiences through this online health education. It would be beneficial to apply the lessons learned to the future educational opportunities for the public health nursing students.departmental bulletin pape
Consideration of developing practical competencies in nursing-based on school nurse training course ~Practice and evaluation of bullying prevention education~
本研究においては,看護大学における養護教諭養成の実践力の育成について検討するため,教職実践演習で取り組んだ「いじめ防止教育」の成果を,授業を受けた生徒の変化より評価した.授業を受けた生徒は,授業1週間後には,「自己主張性」「セルフエスティーム」を向上させ,「ストレス反応」を低下させていた.さらに,男子は,いじめを容認する態度が改まり,女子は,いじめを止める自己効力感を向上させていた.また,自分の身近にいじめがあった時にどうするのかとの問いに,いじめを止めるとの前向きな回答が増えていた.以上のことより,本研究で行なった「いじめ防止教育」は,高校生のいじめ抑止に効果があったことが示された.これらの結果から,看護大学における養護教諭養成課程の教職実践演習で授業実践を取り入れることは,養護教諭の保健教育に関わる実践力育成に有効である可能性が示唆された.Purpose:
The purpose of this study was to examine how the high school students, whom students of the school nurse training course offered the bullying prevention program in the practical seminar for teaching profession, developed the skills for the “bullying prevention”.
Methods:
The effectiveness of bullying prevention program was evaluated by the changes occurred after the bullying prevention program was offered at one high school.
Results:
The students who took the program improved their "self-assertion" and "self-esteem", and decreased "stress response" after one week of the program. In addition, the male students changed their attitude to tolerate acting on bullying. The female students improved their self-efficacy to intervene bullying. Moreover, asked what to do when bullying was happening close to them, they gave many positive ideas of resolutions to stop bullying.
Discussion and Conclusion:
It was shown that the educational program for "bullying prevention" conducted in this study was effective to decrease a number of incidents of bullying amongst the high school students. In summary, it was suggested that incorporating the bullying prevention program into the practical seminar for teaching profession might be effective to develop for students of the school nurse training course practical competencies related to health education.departmental bulletin pape
Palliative care for elderly persons ―Focusing on the role of nurses―
本研究では高齢者施設に勤務する看護師5名に看取りにおける連携の実践について把握するため,事前に作成したインタビューガイドに基づいて面接を行った.面接内容を質的に分析し【限りある命を見守る】,【職種による視点の違いをコーディネイトする】,【協働のための情報交換】,【家族の気持ちに寄り添う】の4カテゴリーが抽出された.高齢者施設に勤務する看護師は,利用者の身体的な低下を予測しながら知識・技術・倫理的態度を備えるとともに,多職種のみならず家族とも連携する要となっていることが把握できた.In this study, five nurses in the different elderly care facilities were interviewed. The guidelines of the interview were specifically designed to understand the cooperation with respect to palliative care (PC).
The result of the interviews was analyzed qualitatively. The analytical study revealed four main concerns of the nurses. Those ware “Taking care of the terminal life of the person,” ”Coordinating various points of view by the different health care professionals,””Sharing information for collaboration ,“ and “Being considerate about the feelings of the family members”. The study suggested that the nurses needed to maintain professionalism such as appropriate knowledge, technical skills and ethical standards while health of the patients was declining. The 2019 report for the utilization of the students counselling services
本稿は,2019年度1年間の学生相談室の利用状況を報告するものである.相談内容は,「心身の不調」と「同級生との関係」に関するものが多かった.来談経路は,学生自身が自主的に相談員を訪れることと,教職員からの紹介に二分された.今後の学生相談には,チーム対応を導入することを検討する必要があると考えられた.The purpose of this study was to report how the services were utilized during 2019. The most common contents of the consultation were moratorium and romantic love. There were many students sought out the consultations on their own. Conservative treatment for the humeral proximal part fracture in children
小児骨折は,不全骨折となることが多い.また多少の転位がある骨折においても骨のリモデリングに期待して,保存的治療を選択することが多い.小児の上腕骨近位部骨折は比較的まれな骨折であるため,転位の許容度など不明な点が少なくない.本研究では整形外科クリニックを受診した小児の上腕骨近位部骨折の保存的治療を紹介し,小児骨折における施術のあり方について検討する.本報告では骨片転位の大きさの違いによって仮骨の出現時期や骨硬化など治癒経過に差はあるものの,最終的に骨癒合が認められた.今後も小児骨折の特徴を把握しながら,自家矯正力の限界を見極め,慎重に対応していくことが必要だと考える.Bones of children were consistently in the growing process. When they were broken, remodeling abilities were evident. Therefore, remodeling of the fractured bones could be in their healing processes even in the cases of some displaced fractures. Because of their incomplete fractures, we often chose conservative treatment. Since the proximal part of the fracture of the humerus was seldom occurred, the amplitude of the bone chip derangement might be unknown.
Children who consulted with an orthopedic clinic for the fracture of the proximal part of the humerus were rare. This study introduced the case that paid its attention to the remodeling of bones. The conservative treatment was also examined with regard to the remodeling toward the prevention of the fractures of the pediatric population in the future.
Synostosis was found although there was a difference in a healing process of the callus formation or osteosclerosis.
In summary, prognosis of the children’s fracture was appreciable; it might be required to provide the careful intervention until the characteristics of the pediatric fractures were well understood.
Further, the intervention might have to considered the limitations of the abilities that bones remodel and develop for the complete recovery.departmental bulletin pape
The recognition of women's health that affects the conditioning of female athletes
【目的】本学の整復医療・トレーナー学科の男女学生を対象に女性アスリートのコンディショニングに影響するウィメンズヘルス分野に対する認識を調査することであった.【方法】対象は学生100名(男性64名,女性36名)とした.アンケートはGoogle foamsを用いて実施した.調査項目は,①ウィメンズヘルスについての興味・認識度②今後,在学中に女性アスリート特有の困難を学びたいか③月経に対するイメージ④女性アスリートがコンディショニングを整えるために最も必要だと思うもの,について聴取した.【結果】認識度や興味に男女差は認められなかったが,女性アスリートを支える上で必要な要素やその学習意欲に男女に差が認められた.【考察】ウィメンズヘルス,女性アスリートや患者に対する理解や認識の違いによる男女の差が影響していると推察されたが,本研究だけでは明らかにできなかった.男女とも多くの学生がウィメンズヘルスに興味・関心を示していたため,正しい知識を教授することにより,今回調査したような認識がどのように変化するか観察していく.[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to investigate how much students were interest in the female athletes in the field of the women’s health. The study was conducted to the both male and female students in the Department of Reduction Medicine and Trainers of Ryotokuji University.[Methods] In this study, 100 students were chosen including 64 male and 36 female students. The questionnaire was given by using the Google forms. The survey was focused on the following four questions. First, the students were asked whether or not they were Interested in or aware of the women's health. Next, they were asked whether or not they wanted to learn about the difficulties peculiar to the female athletes while attending the school. Then, they were asked what kind of Image they have about menstruation. Finally, the students were asked what the female athletes thought the most necessary for the effective conditioning. [Results] There was no difference in awareness or interest between the male and female students. However, the male students had different reasons from the female students to support the female athletes and their willingness to learn about the women’s health. [Discussion] It was speculated that the difference between the male and female students was due to the distinctive understanding and perception toward the women's health. Many female patient and athletes who were affected by the health concerns unique to the women could not be clarified in this study alone. Since many students, both male and female, were interested in the women's health, a systematic trial would be required to determine whether or not the educational program provide a significant perceptual change.departmental bulletin pape
