Preocupări de statistică economică ale lui Anton Golopenţia: Anton Golopentia on Economic Statistics
We publish two among the economic statistic proposals presented by Anton Golopentia to the State Planning Commission (SPC) of Romania during 1949. The first is a Note in which, in answer to the problem raised by the SPC, A.G. considers the possibility of dividing the territory of Romania into four economic regions of comparable strength. The second is the proposal to direct the production, in two months, by a group of former employees of CISR, of a Small Economic and Social Atlas of the P. R. of Romania, whose summary is attached
O analiză a profilului urban al oraşelor mici din România. Studiu de caz: oraşele mici din judeţul Suceava: An Analysis of the Urban Profile of Small Towns in Romania. Case Study: Small Towns in Suceava County
The study aims to present the level of urbanization of small towns in Romania, by analyzing some indicators that individualize this category of human settlements. The paper focuses, in the first part, on defining and identifying the small towns within the national urban network and on presenting their characteristics. In the second part, it concentrates on an analysis of elements contained in Law 351/2001 on the approval of the National Territory Arrangement Plan - Section IV Localities Network that define the urban profile of this distinct category of human settlements. Thus, the work took account of quantitative and qualitative elements, as well as labor resources employed in non-agricultural fields, housing equipment with utilities, health, education and culture infrastructure and urban infrastructure equipment assessed at the level of small urban settlements in Suceava County. For the intended purpose, the analysis relied on statistical data of the National Institute of Statistics (statistical records of population and housing censuses in 2002 and 2011, the records from the Statistical Yearbook of Romania 2003, 2007 and 2013 and the Statistical Yearbook of Suceava County 2013, as well as statistical records of Tempo-online database) and on statistical data that were extracted from Sheet village. The analysis was also based on information contained of small urban municipalities sites and strategic documents of these towns, of Suceava County and of the North-East Development Region of Romania of which they belong
The Healthy Food Basket for Romania. National Results of a Comparative Research Carried out within the European Reference Budgets Network (2014-2015)
The present paper aims to present and discuss the national results for Romania of the comparative research on healthy food baskets, carried out within the European Reference Budgets Network (2014-2015), a project financed by the European Commission at the initiative of the European Parliament. While food baskets have been for long computed in Romania, they have no longer served as policy tools since 2004. Acknowledging the crucial importance of modelling reference budgets for decisions over the minimum wage, social benefits and subsidies for public services, this study embraces a methodology designed by Goedeme, Storms and van den Bosch (2015), in order to construct an updated reference budget for nutritious food and sports activities in 2015 Romania. Among its main conclusions, our study reveals that the values of means-tested social assistance benefits fall far below the monetary value of the healthy food basket. Moreover, dual-earner families employed for the minimum wage and raising two children can hardly afford the daily costs of a balanced nutrition that also fulfils the social and cultural functions of food

Limitations and Problems of Current Studies in Terrorism: from Fear-mongers towards Global Justice
Though terrorism is not a new issue new radical changes have been brought post 9/11. At some extent, this event caused parallel effects that lasted up to date. In this respect, terrorism and the process of victimization it generates, leads towards the adoption to policies otherwise would be neglected. At the time periphery accepts the allegory of terrorism forged in North, a secret surveillance discourse cemented the hegemony of few over the whole. South America and Argentina have experienced the whip of terrorism in the past. However, these bloody events are blurred into a new allegory produced discursively by main powers post 9/11. In context of suffering hegemony is efficiently manipulated to control the periphery. This exhibits a new trend in geopolitical issues which merits to be studied in next decades

Aspecte ale stratificării sociale în contextul transformărilor sociale şi perspectivei de integrare europeană a Republicii Moldova. Note de cercetare: Aspects of the Social Stratification in the Context of Social Transformations and European Integration Prospect of Republic of Moldova. Research Notes
The independence period of the Republic of Moldova conditioned important changes at the economic and political level. The deepest and most grievous changes, in terms of social cost, are those who have an impact on the social structure, the life conditions, the people's behaviour and mentality. Social change refers to the modifications in the basic structures of the society, so it produces a quality and quantity passing to one level to another level of the social system. In this paper we present the results of a survey on a national-level in Moldova. The research was focused on the recent trends in social stratification in this former soviet country. Another issue was the evaluation of the current socio-political situation and the people’s orientations (towards Europe or towards the Euroasian Union)

Excesul de prosperitate şi indicele vieţii planetare: Excess of Prosperity and Living Planet Index
The accelerated economic development initiated by the Western industrial revolution and consumerist societies, generated an unprecedented difficult ecologic situation on the Earth. This article presents some consequences of this difficult ecologic situation in the field of human and other species` quality of life. The author focused on the data regarding the continuous global growth of the goods and services consumption, during the last 25 years, as a result of the often irresponsible general competition for profit, of the goods and services producers, but on the other side, by the too great distance between the global banking system rationality and the rationality of the real and durable economy. The article proposes some measures for alleviating social risks of the economic development, and also, for the raising quality of life, both for human race and other conscious species living on the Earth. In this article there are used data published by some international institutions and organizations, as World Bank or World Watch Foundation, and also, information from the very recent scientific researches belonging to the field of experimental psychology and socio-economic scientific research
