Utilizarea tehnologiei informației și comunicării de către copiii din România. Sinteze teoretice
To understand the effects of the pandemic on research in a particular field, we need to review the existing literature in that field up to the pandemic period. In this sense, I have synthesized the existing Romanian literature in the field of digital division among children in Romania. The results of this literary synthesis confirm an acute lack of Romanian data and research in this field. The pandemic has required in-depth research in this area, and the interests of researchers in the effects of digital technology on children/young people, have become imperative in all areas, especially education
Relieful lumii interbelice. „Marginal și experimental. Cooperativa Gusti: două decenii de cercetare în istoria sociologiei”, Editura Eikon, București, 2020. Coordonatori: Ionuț Butoi, Martin Ladislau Salamon
The advent of a new collection of studies dedicated to the „Gusti Cooperative” is an opportunity to recall the ways of referring to our rural world and its research. For a long time the predominance of these referrings have been represented by the ideational sublimination of the so-called visions/mythology, witch is nothing else but resuming romantic themes in today’s world. The investigations of the relief an the detail structure of a complex view, whose diversity and openness are revealed as the study progress, is much more discreet. This is what the team coordonated by Professor Zoltán Rostás does, which marks two decades of existence with this book

Generațiile X, Y și Z pe piața muncii. Caracteristici specifice, strategii de implicare în învățarea activă și abordări ale relației managerilor cu angajații
The article describes the main characteristics of some age groups known as Generations X, Y, Z. It’s main aim consists of analyzing these generations’ characteristics in relation to the labour market. Also, on the basis of these characteristics, we set out the most efficient strategies of how to engage members of Generation Y and Z in active learning and what leadership and management they wish to find at their jobs. Digital natives, both Generation Y and Generation Z members want dynamic jobs, preferring professional autonomy and need constant growth. The information they get has to be applicable in real life, trainers have to be mentors and guides and teaching-learning methods have to combine technologies and interactive style. Managers should be their models, inspirational people, they should implement a free and flexible management style, be daily close to employees, always give feedback and create technological and collaborative working spaces
Discurs 21.04.2021, 12.00: Premiul de Excelență al Asociației Române de Sociologie (ARS) pentru lucrarea Capitalul în România postcomunistă, Editura Academiei Române, 2018
As early as the dawn of modern age, Benjamin Constant (1819) wrote that the current democracy, unlike the ancient one, based on slavery and perpetual wars, is based on capital, while Braudel (1979) shows that capitalism as a concept could not exist without the other concepts preceding it in the sequence they occur in society, i.e. capital and capitalist. Therefore, I regarded capital, meaning the foundation of both democracy and capitalism, as a particularly challenging object of study from the standpoint of its formation, development, location in the economy and ownership in post-communist Romania. I deem the amount, quality, origin and behaviour of capital are pivotal for a solid democracy and an efficient functioning of capitalist market economy in our country. The book Capital in post-communist Romania, based on long data series, may cast a historical perspective on the economic and social phenomena and processes under scrutiny. They are meant to help devise and implement public policies for making the objectively necessary corrections to the Romanian society after such an intricate transition, as well as to prepare the actions for securing Romania’s future development. I viewed this scientific endeavour as useful after identifying a shortage of information and, against this backdrop, of analysis on economic and social results of Romania’s transition, also by comparison with other former communist countries

Analiza sociodemografică a fenomenului îmbătrânirii populației cu implicații asupra sistemului românesc de pensii
The first part of the study has as it’s main objective to expose a brief socio-demographic analysis on the problem of aging population, both in Romania and in other European Union countries. The second part of the study follows the implications that the aging population phenomenon has on the Romanian state pension system. Also, the paper proposes an investigation of the risks to which the population aged 65 years and over is exposed in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, based on specific comorbidities. To form an overview of these aspects, it will be used secondary data research, with information from public institutions such as: the National Institute of Statistics; Ministry of Internal Affairs; National House of Public Pensions; The Government of Romania; Financial Supervisory Authority; Eurostat; World Health Organization; United Nations Organization; Organization for Economic Co-operationand Development; as well as specific legislation and updated specialized literature. The last part of the study offers a series of conclusions which will result in several general solutions to the aging population problem
Between liberty and control: citizens’ attitudes towards Romanian state surveillance
Surveillance was extensively analyzed in the literature from multiple standpoints. Some studies looked to the temporal development of surveillance, while others analyzed the traditional theories that influenced many of the contemporary surveillance studies. All these studies define surveillance as an activity that is ubiquitous and performed globally, by multiple private and public institutions, through the involvement of specific technologies. However, little attention was paid to the perceptions of citizens about surveillance. This article addresses this gap in the literature and analyses how state surveillance is perceived by the Romanian citizens according to the socio-demographic factors (i.e., age, education, income, gender and medium of residence). The aim of the study is to explain how socio-demographic factors influence the acceptance of state surveillance. It also controls for the left-right self-placement, and the use of Facebook as source of information. The statistical analysis uses individual level data from an original survey conducted between October-November 2020. The survey was completed by 1,140 respondents, and the article uses correlation and linear regression to analyze the data. The findings illustrate that the acceptance of state surveillance is influenced by the gender, level of education and medium of residence of the individuals. The age and income of the citizens have no effect on the acceptance of state surveillance
