Measurement of the ψ(2S) to J/ψ cross-section ratio as a function of centrality in PbPb collisions at sNN = 5.02 TeV
The ratio of prompt production cross-sections of ψ(2S) and J/ψ mesons in their dimuon final state is measured as a function of centrality, using data collected by the LHCb detector in PbPb collisions at
= 5.02 TeV, for the first time in the forward rapidity region. The measured ratio shows no dependence on the collision centrality, and is compared to the latest theory predictions and to the recent measurements in literature.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Este artículo se centra en el análisis de la recepción de las óperas de Giacomo Puccini (Manon Lescaut, La bohème, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, La fanciulla del westy Turandot), que se representaron por primera vez en los teatros de Barcelona (básicamente en el Gran teatre del Liceu) entre los años 1896 y 1928. Se trata de un periodo histórico muy interesante, que se corresponde con el de la continuidad de la hegemonía operística italiana –arraigada en Barcelona desde 1750–frente a la renovadora estética de las óperas de Richard Wagner. La polarización entre el gusto del público (mayormente partidario del italianismo encarnado en las propuestas puccinianas) y el menosprecio de la crítica hacia Puccini, marca el pulso de un momento clave para entender el cambio de gusto y de mentalidad ante el espectáculo operístico.This paper focuses on the analysis of the reception of Giacomo Puccini’s operas (Manon Lescaut, La bohème, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, La fanciulla del westand Turandot), performed for the first time in Barcelona’s theatres (basicaly at Gan Teatre del Liceu) between 1896 and 1928. This is a very interesting historical period, which corresponds to the continuity of Italian operatic hegemony –since 1750–in front of the refreshing aesthetics of Richard Wagner’s Operas. Psychometric Analysis of the Couple Resilience Inventory (CRI): Adaptation and Validation in a Spanish Sample
Scientific literature has stated that resilience fosters well-being. However, research
on couple resilience and its related constructs remains limited. Furthermore, the
resilience measurements have focused on the individual level, remaining the cou-
ple resilience an underexplored construct, particularly in the Southern European
context. The Couple Resilience Inventory (CRI) is one of the most widely used
tools for couple resilience assessment. This study aimed to adapt and validate the
CRI into Spanish, analysing its psychometric properties. The sample consisted of
341 individuals aged between 19 and 72 years (M=31.82, SD=14.16). Confirma-
tory factor analysis validated the two-factor correlated internal structure: Positive
Couple Resilience (PCR) and Negative Couple Resilience (NCR), in line with the
original study. The structural model showed good fit indices. Corrected item-total
correlations (0.618–0.827) and internal consistency for both factors were adequate
(PCR: α=0.901, NCR: α=0.836). Test-retest reliability demonstrated strong stabil-
ity for both factors (PCR: ICC=0.766; NCR: ICC=0.856). Hierarchical regression
analysis confirmed significant associations between couple resilience, dyadic cop-
ing, well-being and intimate partner violence. The psychometric properties of the
Spanish version of the CRI have been empirically supported. Its interrelations with
dyadic coping, well-being and intimate partner violence have been demonstrated.
In conclusion, the CRI scale was satisfactorily adapted to and validated in Spanish
and is a useful instrument to assess couple resilience.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
NIR Luminescence from Deep-Level Traps in CsPbBr3 Microcrystals
In this study, we report the first observation of a near-infrared (NIR) emission band from all-inorganic CsPbBr3 and CsPb(Br/Cl)3 perovskite microcrystals. By means of temperature- and power-dependent NIR and visible luminescence spectroscopy, we demonstrate that a fraction of the excited states in these materials relax through radiative transitions involving traps located deep within the band gap, leading to broadband NIR emission. The quantum yield of this deep trap emission is quantitatively determined for the first time and amounts to approximately 0.3% at room temperature. Furthermore, by examining the picosecond-to-nanosecond dynamics of the excited states, using time-resolved luminescence spectroscopy, we observe that the population of NIR initial states occurs on a 660 ps time scale, consistent with the capture of free carriers by deep trap sites. Hence, this work deepens our fundamental understanding of previously unexplored recombination channels in metal halide perovskite microcrystals.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Agamben and the logic of Geltung ohne Bedeutung (validity without significance) at the foundation of the juridical, political, linguistic, ethical and medical domains
In a letter to his friend Walter Benjamin in 1934, the scholar of religions Gershom Scholem described the status of the law in Kafka’s work as Geltung ohne Bedeutung (validity without significance). He meant that, in Kafka’s work, the law keeps its validity, but does not translate into concrete, identifiable laws. More than sixty years later, Agamben revived this notion in a number of texts. The first goal of this paper is to explore how an attentive reading of Agamben reveals that the logic of Geltung ohne Bedeutung might also operate at the foundational moment of the juridical, the political, the ethical, and the linguistic. And, moreover, how this logic, as if haunting us, is felt throughout the entire experience of these fields. Second, by moving beyond Agamben’s work, I study the potential that the notion has for understanding the foundational moment of the medical field: the meta-medical. I argue that the notion of Geltung ohne Bedeutung sheds new light on why philosophers of medicine do not agree on the criteria for distinguishing between the normal and the pathological. It remains to be explored how much this logic and its implications owe to Husserl’s digression on the dialectics between genesis and structure.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Escala de Mitos do Amor Romântico (EMAR): Portuguese Version of the Scale of Myths of Romantic Love (SMRL)
Background: Violence legitimization has been associated with the myths of romantic love. In the Portuguese context, there are no available standardized tools to assess it. This study aimed to develop the adaptation and validation of the Portuguese version of the Scale of Myths of Romantic Love (SMRL) in youth and emerging adults. Also, the acceptance of myths of romantic love was described. Methods: The sample comprised 165 individuals (83% female) aged from 18 to 30 (M = 23.01; SD = 3.33). Results: Confirmatory factor analysis supported the two-factor correlated structure found in the original validation: Idealized Love (IL) and Distorted Love (DL). The selected nested model obtained acceptable good-of-fit indices. Reliability analysis indicated acceptable internal consistency (α = 0.728; ω = 0.711) and the item-factor correlations were strong. Gender differences in the endorsement of romantic myths were found. Males obtained significantly greater acceptance of need for a couple and ambivalence myths. Females significantly endorsed the half orange myth. Conclusions: Our findings supported the two-factor related structure of the SMRL Portuguese version. Gender-based differences in romantic beliefs and their potential link to violence legitimization, gender stereotypes, and love perception are highlighted as in need of further studies. Rational Method for Structural Simplification as Key Step in Hit Discovery: The Case of FGFR2 and IGF1R Dual Inhibitors
In the classic medicinal chemistry hit discovery procedure, large virtual libraries undergo different filtering and prediction steps until a small group of molecules is selected for their subsequent synthesis and biological testing. The starting molecular libraries can easily be composed of millions of molecules, hindering the selection of the most representative and promising compounds. Moreover, the resulting molecular systems tend to be overcomplex structures, hardly attainable, and often involve extrapolations of the prediction models used. We present a rational-based method to reduce the structural complexity of molecular candidates without compromising their biological activity, improving the attainability and efficiency of hit discovery. This approach has been successfully applied to identify potential tyrosine kinase dual inhibitors against Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 2 (FGFR2) and Insulin-Like Growth Factor 1 Receptor (IGF1R), a set of overexpressed proteins in different cancers, such as pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Regional mobility and COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy: Evidence from China
China’s Zero-COVID Policy imposed stringent restrictions on citizens’ mobility to curb the spread of COVID-19. While effective in reducing viral transmission, these measures may have inadvertently delayed or deterred vaccine uptake by fostering a heightened sense of security. This study examines the relationships between intra- and inter-regional travel mobility and individual hesitancy towards COVID-19 vaccines (HCV), leveraging the Baidu Mobility Index and data from a cross-sectional survey of 12,000 participants. Our descriptive analysis reveals that (a) individual attitudes toward COVID-19 vaccines are more polarized across regions with different mobility levels than toward vaccines in general and (b) regions with higher population mobility exhibit lower levels of hesitancy toward COVID-19 vaccines. Our OLS and IV results further demonstrate that a one-standard-deviation increase in inter-provincial travel rates is associated with a decrease of 0.0112–0.0195 standard deviations in HCV, whereas intra-provincial mobility is not correlated. Overall, this paper suggests prioritizing the roll-out of COVID-19 vaccines or similar initiatives in areas with higher mobility levels, where residents perceive greater risks and exhibit a higher likelihood of seeking vaccination.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
BioFace3D: An end-to-end open-source software for automated extraction of potential 3D facial biomarkers from MRIscans
Background and Objectives: Facial dysmorphologies have emerged as potential critical indicators in the
diagnosis and prognosis of genetic, psychotic, and rare disorders. While some conditions present with severe dysmorphologies, others exhibit subtler traits that may not be perceivable to the human eye, requiring the use of precise quantitative tools for accurate identification. Manual annotation remains time-consuming and prone to inter- and intra-observer variability. Existing tools provide partial solutions, but no end-to-end automated pipeline integrates the full process of 3D facial biomarker extraction from magnetic resonance imaging.
Methods and Results: We introduce BioFace3D, an open-source pipeline designed to automate the discovery of potential 3D facial biomarkers from magnetic resonance imaging. BioFace3D consists of three automated modules: (i) 3D facial model extraction from magnetic resonance images, (ii) deep learning-based registration of homologous anatomical landmarks, and (iii) computation of geometric morphometric biomarkers from landmark coordinates.
Conclusions: The evaluation of BioFace3D is performed both at a global level and within each individual
module, through a series of exhaustive experiments using proprietary and public datasets, demonstrating the robustness and reliability of the results obtained by the tool. General movements in infants with neurological risk: Associations with motor development and referral patterns for brain magnetic resonance imaging
The main goal of this study was to determine the associations between the quality of presentation of GM, motor development, and brain integrity as seen through magnetic resonance imaging. Methods: This is an observational, descriptive, and association study; information derived from it was used to analyze associations between the following variables: Writhing Movements, Fidgety Movements, motor development, and brain integrity. With a confidence level of 95% and an estimation error of 5%, the sample was comprised of 60 children under 5 months old with any neurological risk criteria; these children were either hospitalized in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or attending the Kangaroo Mother Care Program (KMCP) at the University Hospital of La Samaritana (UHS), Colombia. The data were analyzed using Fisher’s exact test. Results: Over 90% of children with Absent or Sporadic Fidgety Movements had either abnormal or suspicious motor development. We observed a trend of association between the absence of Fidget Movements and alterations in White Matter. Conclusions: Quality of presentation of General Movements is associated with motor development and alterations of brain tissue at an early age, primarily in the White Matter; it is important for early prediction of neurological risk in infants.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
