    Unfinished business: Matt Hipps announced the committee continues to work on a process for standardization of the readmission process. New business: Dr Elnajjar proposed that all policies and proposed new policies should be available for review by senators, new polices be adopted only after discussion and obtaining recommendations, that College officers should come before the Faculty Senate to discuss the implementation of policies, that a specific numerical benchmark for student evaluation should not be used as a condition to promotion and tenure, and faculty members should be encouraged to develop and teach online courses by offering financial and evaluation incentives; Proposal to change Faculty Senate Bylaws, Section VI, to adjust the composition of the committees by adding more faculty members to each committee; Motions: to have departments and schools vote on new faculty senate members before the Aug. 14th meeting, motion passed; to elect a new Faculty Senate secretary, motion postponed

    Unfinished business included a review of the academic calendar, concerns about the final exam schedule, collection of the minutes of faculty committees' meetings, and an update on the new course evaluation process. New business: a motion to print only the agenda for Faculty Senate meetings; a report on child care on campus; bylaw change affecting the schedule and meetings of the FDW subcommittee Teaching, Scholarship, and Service Awards; Dr Stone announced the Board of Regents would be conducting a routine audit, the BOR Academic Affairs Committee is working on a new policy for intercollegiate athletics, the NAIA visiting team visited campus and would report back regarding approval, and Dr Stone reported back from the Academic Affairs Committee that they were looking for programs of low productivity for possible elimination and for state colleges to focus on teaching and service; April Kaye volunteered to coordinate an ad hoc committee for the Honors Convocation and and to coordinate a week in April for each department/school to showcase student scholarship; an update to the Strategic Plan was distributed; Academic Conduct Committee minutes were distributed; Faculty Welfare Subcommittee minutes were distributed; Academic Programs Committee minutes were distributed; Matt Hipps made motions recommending a standardized re-admission process and an ad hoc committee undertake the process. New business: adjust wording of the Faculty Senate bylaws Article V, Section 1 to permit scheduling of the last FS meeting of each semester to be held prior to the final general faculty meeting of the semester; Proposed change to Faculty Senate Bylaws, Article X, to allow a 2nd option for proposing an Amendment to the FS Bylaw

New business: Vince Postell recommended the Faculty Senate set up a "course" in D2L to act as a repository for FS documents and for discussion. It was decided the Executive Council of the Faculty Senate would serve as the initial "instructors" of the "course"; discussion of nursing department being considered one department for the purpose of supplying a member to the Faculty senate; Dr Postell noted committee meeting minutes and annual reports need to be submitted
