At the national level, the areas cultivated with millet are very small, this species is not in the attention of researchers and farmers, therefore the information and studies about millet are limited. Starting from 2022, at the Agricultural Research – Development Station Secuieni, research was initiated on the behavior and productivity of five millet genotypes (Panicum miliaceum L.), the results obtained are presented in the present paper. Among the genotypes studied (the variety Marius, the local population Secuieni and the three genotypes from the Vegetal Genetic Resources Bank "Mihai Cristea" Suceava is noted a good adaptability of the species to the A.R.D.S. Secuieni area’s pedology and the 2022’s climatic conditions. Thus, the average grain yield of the tested millet genotypes was 2528 kg/ha - for the variants sown at 12,5 cm distance between rows, 2328 kg/ha - for variants sown at 25 cm distance between rows and 2221 kg/ha – for the varieties sown at 50 cm distance between rows

Throughout this paper, the theoretical concepts from the above areas were combined with the analysis and interpretation of statistical data from the same areas of interest, resulting in a detailed analysis of how the agricultural labour force influences the yields of the five most important crops in the Romanian agricultural sector, namely, wheat, maize, sunflower, rapeseed and soybean. The analysis was carried out within the eight NUTS-listed development regions. A bibliometric analysis of the importance of the academic environment for agricultural labour force research was previously carried out using VOSviewer software. The content of this document aims to determine the impact that the agricultural labour force has on the productivity of the five main crops cultivated in Romania over large areas during the period 2015–2019, where, although the population employed in agriculture has decreased, the yields of these crops have increased due to the technological development process started in agriculture. As of 2019, only 9% of the total Romanian population is represented by the population employed in agriculture and 39.41% and 61.37% of the total area of the country are represented by arable/agricultural area, respectively

Institutional perspectives of external public audit

    No full text
Institutional arrangements (as a synergy of formal and informal institutions) can decisively contribute to mitigating slippages related to the effective functioning of the intrinsic mechanisms resulting from the manifestation of the principal-agent binomial. Some externalities generated by the functioning of bureaucratic organizations tend to vitiate the mandate offered by the citizen to the governmental level, as a representative of the fundamental interests of the population. Starting from the institutionalist paradigm and tools (formal and informal institutions, the imposition of contracts, transaction costs), our research aims to analyze, using a qualitative approach, the role of external public audit in the functioning of formal and informal institutions, in relation to public organizations. The main results of the study highlight the way in which the external public audit carried out by the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) contributes to remedying the deficiencies related to the improper promotion of taxpayers' interests, the fading of moral hazard (through the prism of opportunistic behavior) as well as the creation of premises aimed at increase trust in society

In rabbit ovulation is induced by mating stimulus. The length of ovulation influences the embryo developmental stages and their localization in various segments of genital tract during first 72-84 hours post mating. The study has compared results obtained in 32 female from four groups: group 1 (control, 8 females, simple mated), group 2 (8 females treated with 180 IU of HCG), group 3 (8 females, treated with 30mg/kg quercitine/day P.O. for 20 days) and group 4 (8 females receiving CoQ10 10mg/kg/day P.O. for 20 days). The corpora lutea (CL) and total number of embryos (TNE) in uterine horns was influenced by treatments (F=5.129 at p=0.006, respectively F=3.59 at p=0.026) and were higher in group 2 and 3. TNE was positively correlated with total number of CL (r=+0.484, p=0.003), with the number of embryos flushed form uterine horns (r=+0.889, p=0.000) and oviducts ((r=+0.921, p=0.003), with weight of uterus (r=+0.621, p=0.000), and negatively correlated with ovaries weights (r=-0.730, p=0.000), In conclusion, regarding the total number of CL and number of obtained embryos, the most efficient treatment was the hormonal one (applied for group 2), data characterizing the success of generation

    No full text
The agri-food sector has become a competitive one on the market in our country, characterized by dynamism, innovation and sustainability; in this case, seed companies are the most vocal and innovative in this field. In this present study, we aimed to analyze the innovation capacity of the seed producing companies in our country, by examining the key indicators, processes and organizational practices of the organizations. The preliminary results highlight the barriers that appear within organizations in the recruitment process, as well as the identification of the necessary methods to maximize their recruitment capacity. The basic instrument of the innovative audit is the questionnaire, and the element of novelty is given by the four elements: the organization and culture of innovation, the strategy and ability to invoke innovative processes and innovative products. The results are presented in the spider diagram based on the score between the categories; they bring out the creativity of people in an organization, the identification and control of barriers that prevent creativity and innovation within the organization, as well as marketing practices to promote innovation

The quality of milk is a component based on certain individual indicators that allow the correct assessment of the quality of the dairy product starting from the producing animal, the quality of the feed, the exploitation system, the state of health, milking hygiene, the storing and transportation conditions of milk towards the processing unit. The purpose of this study was to monitor udder health and establish a proper treatment based on a specialized protocol that employs the assessment of physicochemical milk parameters, number of somatic cells, as well as identification of the pathogen agent generating the disease. Milk samples from 69 dairy cows were collected at the beginning and middle of lactation, a total number of 19 cases of clinical and subclinical mastitis cases being observed. The physicochemical parameters of milk, somatic cell count, and pathogen prevalence were assessed. A very small significant negative relationship was observed between somatic cell score and lactose percentage, (r = 0.667, p < .001). The most frequent encountered pathogens were Streptococcus spp. A management approach for mastitis, as well as other diseases, should include the following major components: prevention, monitoring, and diagnosis

Dynamic of ecological agriculture certification in Romania facing the EU Organic Action Plan

    Get PDF
Approaching the ecological agriculture topic in the context of European Policies to accelerate the conversion to those policies is an interdisciplinary challenge. The motivation to develop this subject is based on the longitudinal observation that the ecological agriculture evolution in Romania has been very slow, despite the policies aimed to accelerate the transition from the conventional to the ecological agriculture have been supported since the 2000s. The goal of the paper is to reframe the available data to evidence the slow dynamics of the organic farms’ certification. The methods used are descriptive and numerical analysis, supplemented by a qualitative-transversal interpretation. The research work has been carried out on the dynamic analysis of the ecological agriculture progress in Romania, based on the data with the ecological certification of the specialized companies (2019–2021). The main hypothesis: the slow dynamics are caused by subjective barriers. The results confirm the slow dynamics of ecological certifications due to some limits and barriers to understand the real role and benefits from the ecological agriculture. In this context, the European Union Organic Action Plan for 2021–2030 proves to be a stimulus for the Romanian ecological agriculture

The revolution of traditional agriculture toward intelligent agriculture with the help of agricultural drones

    No full text
The growing interest of farmers in agricultural drones is due to the increasing technology of agriculture, the expansion of crops and the pooling of the land that will be reached in the near future, with traditional agriculture leaving the place of smart agriculture of the future. Drone applications in agriculture are unlimited in such a way that farmers will be able to see the evolution of crops and will be able to monitor their agricultural crops in ways that were not possible until these agricultural drones were introduced. Farmers can use agricultural drones to adapt the intelligent use of pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers using technological applications to ensure the need for agricultural cultivation at all stages of development, ensuring the exact supply of nutrients as well as the protection needs of the crop, saving money by reducing waste. In this work I will study the factors and trends in the use of drones in agriculture as well as the progress of this branch of intelligent agriculture in Romanian agriculture

Epidemiological impact of swine zoonotic digestive viruses – review

    Get PDF
Infectious diarrhea of farm pigs causes some of the most significant financial losses for producers working in the pork industry through the loss of efficiency, as well as the loss of overall profitability of production. Highly virulent diseases, such as porcine epidemic diarrhoea, result in very high piglet mortality, causing producers enormous financial difficulties. Recurrent and less endemic diseases however, have greater long-term overall effects on health and productivity. The prevalence of swine diarrhea can vary from country to country, from one farming system to another and even from one farm to another. The increasing pressure of pig production, the wide network of imports-exports, the constant evolution of pathogens that allow them to develop new adaptation and diversification mechanisms, and climate change, are some of the challenges faced by the global pork industry. Thinking about viruses being transmitted across species implies taking into consideration all issues arising from these pathogens. They not only reveal the vulnerabilities in human societies, whose functioning is disrupted by these outbreaks, but also the fragilities of the environments in which they appear

    No full text
The Romanian cultivars of tall fescue Festuca arundinacea ('Brio', 'Valrom'), meadow fescue Festuca pratensis ('Tâmpa', 'Transilvan 2') and red fescue Festuca rubra ('Cristina BV', 'Căprioara'), grown in the experimental sector of National Botanical Garden (Institute), Chișinău, served as research subjects. The results of the research on the physical properties of the seeds and the biochemical composition of the biomass, namely – straw, from the plants of the abovementioned cultivars are presented in this article. Our research has revealed that the characteristic dimensions (length x width x thickness) of the studied seeds vary in the following ranges ℓ:b:δ≈ (5.70-6.40) : (1.20-1.35) : (0.70-80) mm. The morphological structure of the studied seeds is in accordance with type 4 “elongated” (ɭ> b≄δ). The friability level of the seeds is relatively low: the angle of repose is about =34.3°-43.0° and the flow angle on steel surface is 1=29.1°-33.1°, on wood 1=37.0°-45.2° and on enamelled surface 1=26.7°-32.7°. The straw collected from the studied cultivars contained 28-83 g/kg CP, 417-562 g/kg CF, 469-595 g/kg ADF, 720-889 g/kg NDF, 60-91 g/kg ADL, 0-60 g/kg TSS, 251-294g/kg HC, 406-504 g/kg Cel. The obtained values of the physical properties of seeds are necessary for the justification of the choice, the calculation and the correct adjustment of the technical means of conditioning and sowing the seeds in the soil, and the obtained data on the biochemical composition indicate possibilities of using straw as animal feed or as a substrate for the production of renewable energy
