The impact of oxidative stress on reproductive disorders in cows – a review
During the transition period dairy cattle are more susceptible to disease because many aspects of the immune system are
altered by uncontrolled inflammation, a condition that has as a cause the metabolic adaptation of the cows.
Inflammation and oxidative stress are interlinked, and contribute to the evolution of reproduction diseases of dairy
cows. Our review highlights to light scientific data on oxidative stress and reproductive disorders in dairy cows. The
information collected is significant for animal welfare and reproduction, and it will create the foundation for future
research on the connection between oxidative stress, reproductive diseases, and nutrition in cows
Non-Thermal Plasma-Activated Water: A Cytogenotoxic Potential on Triticum aestivum
Non-thermal plasma-activated water (PAW) is used in agriculture to decontaminate the seed/grains surface, with possible positive effects on physiological processes. In the present study, PAW was generated in ambient air at atmospheric pressure in eight variants with pH and different doses of reactive species (H2O2, NO3−). We explored the indirect effect of PAW on wheat grains while focusing on genetic material by cytogenetic monitoring. All PAW variants caused clastogenic and aneugenic events of the genetic material, with different intensities, in a dose-dependent manner of reactive species in plasma composition. PAW with the highest doses of H2O2 (13–22 mg/L) and NO3− (49–68 mg/L) at pH 3.8–4.1 decreased the mitotic index the most and induced the most frequent genetic abnormalities, out of which chromosomal bridges and micronuclei were dominant. In correlation with this damage at the nucleus level, the germination rate and root and shoot length of wheat sprouts decreased significantly only in the variants with the highest doses of reactive species. PAW with the lowest doses of H2O2 (1–5 mg/L) and NO3− (8–15 mg/L) at pH 5.5–5.1 induced a much lower cytogenotoxic potential, maintained a germination rate comparable to the control and even significantly stimulated root and shoot length growth. Contribution of agritourism to the sustainable development of rural communities
Agritourism encompasses a wide range of experiences and activities related to agriculture and rural life, offering real opportunities for rural development. The primary aim of this paper was to highlight the links that exist between agritourism and sustainability, based on a systematic review of the scientific literature. In this regard, all three dimensions of sustainability (economic, ecological and social) were considered. Numerous studies and researches have focused on the analysis of the effects generated by tourist activities on rural environment, their findings being essential for the management of tourist destinations and rural sustainability strategies. According to the specialized literature, the development of agritourism can have both negative and positive consequences. The contribution of agritourism to the sustainable development of rural communities may include several directions (job creation, additional source of income, environmental and cultural conservation, preservation of agricultural heritage, infrastructure improvement etc.). Achieving positive effects requires efficient planning, community involvement and responsible practices in agritourism management. Avoiding environmental degradation, overdevelopment and negative impact on local traditions and culture is essential for the rural sustainability
The influence of the usual holding solutions on Hyacinthus orientalis cut flower vase life
In this study, four holding
solutions very often used by florists and the
final consumer were tested to analyse their
impact on the development of the
inflorescence, as well as the elongation,
weight and degree of bending of the hyacinth
flowers. The use of these solutions has a
general character, and the flower species
react differently due to both their genetics
and the conditions in which they were
cultivated, handled and stored. To verify the
effectiveness of the preservative solutions on
Hyacinthus orientalis vase life, four
solutions were prepared with 2% sucrose and
none or one of the follow-ing antimicrobial
substances: sodium hypochlorite, acetic acid
and ascorbic acid. During the study,
measurements were made on the weight,
elongation of the floral stems, chlorophyll
content of the leaves and vase life days. The
vase life of the hyacinths in this experiment
was 5 days, except for the flowers from the
2% sucrose holding solution, which started
to wilt on day 5. On day 6, the flowers
showed signs of senescence. The increase in
the length of the inflorescence stem showed
significant differences for the sucrose +
ascorbic acid holding solution, with a
maximum of 0.8 cm on day 4. However, the
interest was not to maximise the elongation
of the floral stem but to slow down this
process since elongation leads to the bending
of the stem, causing it to require additional
support

The benefits of unconventional (homemade) food administered to dogs with digestive disorders
Homemade dog food preparation for dogs with digestive problems can be worth the time and effort if the owner owns a
dog that suffers from regular digestive disorders. Digestive disorders in dogs are quite common problems that
veterinarians regularly have to deal with. Patients with digestive disorders often present with similar clinical signs, such
as vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, lack of apathy, and abdominal pain. Nutritional modification is an integral part of
gastrointestinal disease management, both in preventing recurrence and reducing clinical signs. Once a patient is
evaluated from both nutritional and medical perspectives, the general nutritional case approach can be followed to select
an appropriate diet and feeding plan for the dog. The objectives were to develop nutritionally balanced homemade food
recipes with specific ingredients for digestive disorders in dogs. The recipes were personalized, made of specific
ingredients for digestive problems
Research for competition relations between the Festuca arundinacea Schreb. and Trifolium pratense L. species cultivated in simple mixtures
Purpose of research carried out in 2022 at Ezăreni Farm (47°05'-47°10 ' North latitude and 27°28'-27°33' Eastern longitude) belonging to the Iaşi University of Life Sciences, was to analyze the competitiveness of the species Festuca arundinacea Schreb. and Trifolium pratense L., grown alone or in simple mixtures, under different conditions of fertilization with complex mineral fertilizers, under the climatic conditions from Moldavian Forrest Steppe. The studied factors were: species or mixture of grasses and perennial legumes, with 5 graduations, respectively a1 - Festuca arundinacea Schreb. (100%); a2 - Festuca arundinacea Schreb. (75%) and Trifolium pratense L. (25%); a3 - Festuca arundinacea Schreb. (50%) and Trifolium pratense L. (50%); a4 - Festuca arundinacea Schreb. (25%) and Trifolium pratense L. (75%); a5 - Trifolium pratense L. (100% ) and fertilization with mineral fertilizers, with 5 graduations, respectively b1 - unfertilized, b2 - N50P50; b3 - N75P75; b4 - N100; b5 - N150P150. In the second year of vegetation, the RYT index (Relative Yield Total) recorded values >1, except for variants fertilized with N150P150, showing that the Festuca arundinacea Schreb. and Trifolium pratense L. species competes for the same vegetation factors, and the CR index for the Festuca arundinacea Schreb. species was higher than in the case of the Trifolium pratense L. species only at a percentage of participation in the mixture of 75%, under fertilization conditions, in which case the species was more competitive

Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever Virus (CCHFV) is the etiological agent of a severe hemorrhagic fever affecting
Africa, Asia and southern Europe. In recent decades, climate change has led to an increase in the distribution range of
this virus. Little scientific data is yet available on the interactions with its vector, the tick, or on its biology. However,
the confirmed presence of human infections in Spain and positive serologies in Corsican livestock could well focus
attention on this pathogen. This review takes stock of developments in eco-epidemiological knowledge of this virus,

In the climatic conditions of the Covurlui Plain, it was observed that the
‘Przehyba’ variety starts vegetation the earliest, being followed at an interval of
2-4 days by ‘Laszka’, ‘Sokolica’ and ‘Polka’. ‘Glen Ample’ variety is the latest.
Raspberry fruits ripen usually 30-34 days after the appearance of the first flowers,
‘Przehyba’ being the first variety to start harvesting, followed shortly by ‘Laszka’
and ‘Sokolica’, then by ‘Polka’. ‘Glen Ample’ is the last to be harvested, the
difference between it and the earliest variety existing in the plantation being 15
days. Significant differences between the varieties are observed in terms of the
length of the harvest period, which varies for each one separately. The shortest
harvesting period was recorded for the ‘Laszka’ variety, of only 20-21 days, and
the longest for ‘Glen Ample’, being approximately 28-30 days. In terms of
productivity, the ‘Laszka’ raspberry variety stands out (14.5 t/ha), being followed
by ‘Sokolica’ (12.7 t/h) and ‘Polka’ (11.2 t/ha), and the lowest productions being
recorded at ‘Glen Ample’, with an average of 10.7 t/ha. Among the four variants
of densities taken into account, V4 with 20 suckers shoots per linear meter is the
most productive, registering the highest productions in the case of all varieties
